Rawhide Kid #35 would have been cover dated August, 1963. So, the same month as Fantastic Four #17. September 1963 would be books like Amazing Spider-Man #4 (it was a bi-monthly title for the first three issues) and Avengers #1 AND X-Men #1!
Loving these episodes. We know you're both studs with the eye in on it. The examples you have more difficulty with are even more informational for us as we get to hear more dissection and evaluation and go on that little journey with you. Keep'em up!
JR Jr was such an influential artist on me as a lil kid and it’s all the tics you guys pointed out, but also, the big eyes but occasionally sharp, the 2 lines on the ball of the nose, the profile view w wide open mouth like DD eating a apple chanting No Nukes, the swoop of hair
That first panel convinced it was John Byrne. That third one, definitely thought that had to be Jr+Jr and Al Williamson on Star Brand. Buscema was pretty easy. Would never have gotten the other ones. No clue Jack Davis did Marvel westerns. Love this game.
This is fun! Most of the artists were before my time (got Kubert, though! Maybe could have gotten JRJR) I could crush a 90s/00s list. Hope to see more of these.
Back in the early nineties I got a couple art books on remainder(discount) from Capital of Jack Davis! As a kid, I saw alot of his later cartoonier work but the further back you go to see how his style evolves over time! Kubert Punisher is very unique brush line and 3 quarters views! Joe drew an issue of DC Presents with Superman and the Demon from the 80’s and I know it had to be a tight deadline but still great storytelling and brush lines! Muzzchieli on DD was definitely playing around with his style of art and for time he is channeling Gene Colan layouts but his inks really step it up a notch! The DD/Two Gun Kid issue is an absolute blast of craft tint and uses of line textures and shadows! Story takes place out in the west desert setting both in the past and present! 226 with the Gladiator continuing to show his pushing unique panels/storytelling leading to Born Again ❤️! Batman Year One and placement of black!🎯Really enjoying this!👍
I totally thought that was some lowkey panels by SAL Buscema, which is kinda weird, I always thought of Sal and John as quite different (preferring Sal).
"Clothes pin people" is so cool! Thanks for the education, Ed. BTW, that Jack Davis was a big surprise. The man's such a master.

You dudes need to do this on a regular basis! It's terrific fun!
The first three panels of Kubert
I was getting a Silvestri vibe
It's fun to see you guys guess who's what and I'm not super good at realizing artists but I was able to guess the JRJR page
We need a part 2 ASAP, this was so much fun !
there is one episode previous to this with Jim in the guessing seat!
Amazing video, I hope you guys keep doing these. The only one I got was Buscema but would not have guessed the inker.
The only one I immediately got was JR Jr., but does it count if I recognized Nocenti’s writing?

Mazzucchelli penciled X-Factor #16 a few months after Born Again, could be worth featuring in a vid.
Round 2!
Would an episode like this be possible as a live stream?
Something about Joe Kubert's lines, and the thickness of his characters always stuck out to me. This game is fun!
this really made me want a deep dive into dong xoai by joe kubert, which is essentially a master class in penciling

This was dope, give us more

This was fun
Did much better this time around. Got most by the second panel, and got Jack Davis right away. It was that foot. I did think Buscema was Silvestri.
Baba Booey
0/0 😂😅 - but I love this game. Just makes want to hit the books and study!!!!!
