I've bought the drill guide a couple of months ago (long before seeing this video) and even if it's OK for the price, it has a bit of play at the bearing level. Not that much but enough so that you need to train a bit and account for it. Same for the guide bushings. Depending on the drill weight and balance, you'll need to keep the base well pressed against the surface, because it's so small than the whole contraption tends to be unstable. BTW, it can be seen in the video that the guy is using clamps to hold the base firmly. This is usually not the way to use such accessory since it is suppose to help when drilling holes in the middle of large boards (otherwise, a drill press is largely preferable). The extension rods and plate that come with the tool can be handy here to extend the overall base surface, as long as you place them on the ride side to compensate for the imbalance caused by the drill itself. I've ended up building a larger base plate on top of which the original one is screwed, a bit like what is often done for palm routers, and this makes the accessory far easier to use. All in all, it worth the money and it will help you guide your drill straight and perpendicular, but some preliminary testing is preferable before drilling the real holes. More generally, I've bought a couple of Veiko products on Banggood site and I must admit that the quality is very good for the price. The ENJOYWOOD 450 mm miter guide for table saw is a good bargain too. Very good quality (its weight is quite impressive) albeit at a quite reasonable price.
I enjoyed watching you demonstrate how the tools work. They seem to be of good quality and reasonably priced. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next video.😊
This video is going to force me to buy a new table saw. Yeah thanks a lot. 😅 I'm impressed with that drill guide. I bought one years ago that was so sloppy it was basically unuseable. It jammed on the guides and the bearings had about 5mm play measured at the tip of a drill bit. It ended up in the recycling bin.
@@Flippingdrawers apologies dude. It was more of a response to the OP’s point about the drill guide. It looked like the chuck could be off. Could be my expectation of it was higher seeing how sharp and slick it looked. I’ve no beef with you or crappy drill bits. I use them all the time too. It was a comment just about the drill guide’s chuck.
Glad you love your new tools. Time for a new project to show them off to us properly! I'm busy saving up for new bits myself so it's good to see some in use . Can't wait for the next job you do !
The miter guide is amazing too, the quality is evident in all the pieces, to say nothing about the designs for convenience of it all. On to the next one ❤
Wood be interesting to see an update after you've used them for a while. I think it's very important to know how the tool performs in a long run and how it resists wear and tear
Very informative Jay and appreciate you showing how the tool is used. Watching you open each box with such anticipation is how I feel when I open my boxes of tools for the world of quilting.
I love the little hammer. It's not only gorgeous but the interchangeable heads are genius! It also looks like the fatter handle would be arthritis-friendly. Got to love that. I'd buy it!❤ Also I love that you are opening the boxes and giving your first impressions on camera. Let us not gloss over the fact that you said if your first impression was that it sucks then you would simply say it sucks😅
It was so much fun watching you opening these boxes. A boy opening presents. The tossing of the packaging was cute. Loved the precision of the miter saw. There are so many toys. I am looking forward to watching you incorporate your new tools. More tools to find a home in your work space.
Well, that was fun, Jay! Will we be seeing you using any of them soon? We will be watching for them now! You can't miss the red details on them for sure! Hope they help make your life easier, more precisionaly accurate, and more fun! 😻😃
The first 4 tools are my favourites on the site. I bought the clamps recently and they are so good. They have a router table which is small but also effective which I would love to buy but I have to make stuff to sell before I can buy them and that's fair.
What a cute and beautiful hammer! I was surprised✨🤩🎉 Looks like the small weapon is ready…also, tools come with grip supports It's really nice that the tools come with support. The power of small arms merchants😸💫
Wow, perfect timing, as usual, I’m looking to replace all the drawer fronts in my kitchen. That mortise tool looks like it will be just the ticket! Thanks for the candid info.
