Great video. You do a wonderful job doing a show n tell for Banggood. They sent some pretty cool tools at that too. I liked the tool that you can make a dowel at any size. (I’m sure the blade could use some sharpening) I hope you’ll find the time to set up that router as I would love to see how it works. I was having a hard time trying to fight it out. I’m so happy for you that you got something that you’ve been wanting so you’ll definitely have to set that up. It’s so much fun watching you open your gifts. Never loose the child likeness when you receive packages. Looking forward to seeing your next project n seeing Mando. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🐈⬛🥰
Great video, very informative. I'm a very basic DIYer, just things like turning wooden floorboards into shelves. I'm not even kidding, I bought a whole box of them for about a fiver a few years ago thinking I could use them in a project. Found them at the back of the garage whilst trying to find my actual shelves and thought, they'll do! I'm so cheep! Would the long red thingy be any good to guide a jigsaw? I'm useless at getting straight lines out of it so need something to steady it. Purrs and head-bumps from my two girls, Bast and Shakti, to Mando! I'm off to watch your other Banggood video!
This 'router plane' is otherwise known as a 'granny's tooth' in the trade. It's primarily used to clean and level out the bottom of rebates/channels. After you have cut the shoulders with a saw and chiselled out the bulk of the material, you then use the tool to clean the bottom surface to make it flat and even.
Thank you for this bit of information. I am suddenly interested. Now, referring to a point made earlier, should it be pushed, pulled, or is it user preference?
That's a fancy planer. I've only ever used a simple one. No adjustments... no extra tools to go with. Have to eye ball if its enough taken off. Not so precise. The handles are fancy add ons too.😊
Jay thank you for your great work and dedication in restoring old furniture and bringing it back to its original glory.😂😂😂😂 you’re new Tools are so cool 😎.
Like many others, I got a chuckle out of watching you pitch the empty boxes and packing materials off screen. Mad City Modern just put out a video making a new router table with the router lift.
@FlippingDrawers you have a Katz-Moses!! I'm jealous...lol. Apparently that particular plane is causing controversial debate in the planing world...I say some people are ridiculous...lol.
I'm an older woman engineer - I like practical and I like pretty, so I totally love this video. :D Can never have too many tools (although my decluttering lady would most definitely disagree :D ) I have a couple of items of furniture I wonder if you might want to have a go at restoring (as a client)... how do I contact you? :)
Hello. Congratulations on your interesting purchases. I am sure that these tools will make your work easier and you will do everything much faster without much effort..
Those tools look great and seem to have good functionality. Too bad no one makes quality tools with a Lord of the Rings theme, at least I’ve never seen any, now that would be awesome. lol.
I have ZERO mechanical sense. I would look at all those tools and go, "Now what? What am I supposed to use it for and how on earth do I put it together?" LOL! You're a genius....obviously.
I did find the tools interesting. I have never heard of the brand. Thank you for reviewing them & giving your honest opinion. I’ll def be checking them out. One can never have enough tools. 😂
The router plane the km17 is the same one on Kratz’s Moses web site there’s no difference at all I’m saving up for one and there fantastic for cleaning the bottom of a half lap I watched it being done
Some very nice toys, er sorry, tools there for you there! Screw, plane, drill, stand, jig, blah, blah, blah!!!!! Where’s Mando? Nice windcheater, but I like the real thing! Gimme that pretty cat to look at!
New to the channel...now a new subscriber. Great video. Here's a kinda weird question for anyone who might have an answer. I'm trying to make some wooden cones. Small ones. I'll say about 4" long. And from 10.5mm down 5.5mm. Essentially a tiny bat I guess. Im not much of a wood working guy. But I made one myself by hand. I was basically whittling. But it needs to b fairly accurate. So using my calipers and a exacto knife I made 1. I know there's gotta b a easier way to do it, right? Any advice would b appreciated.
The company that makes most of those tools, Enjoywood, make really decent tools. I own a few and like their products. I might just buy that router lift for my workshop! Thanks for showing us your tool haul.
this is just my opinion... and i know that the youtube game sucks but... PLEASE don't start doing tool review videos. i KNOW there's good money in it and free tools and all that. and i know that youtube loves to favor these types of vids (because capitalism) but your channel has always been about the WORK, about the RESTORATION. please don't become yet another youtube channel that turns into a tool review channel just to chase the money. again, just my opinion. it's your channel and you gotta do what you gotta do.
TH-cam doesn’t favour this type of videos at all and I’m not changing what ive been doing. These are tools I actually use so can’t see why a couple videos like this is a problem.
@@Flippingdrawers all good my friend. it's your channel and you can obviously make whatever content you want. i just wanted to throw my opinion out there because it's the internet and that's what people do.
@@Flippingdrawers I am thankful for the occasional tool, stain, finish or whatever review from furniture TH-camrs. These are people I trust to be giving information rather than an influencer making a buck. As a newbie, sort of, it is great to see what is used now, what has been on the wishlist and what is still on the wish list. It is expensive to start up, so having a practiced hand tell me which products they prefer and which the deem bad or unnecessary saves me wasting money and leaves more to spend on getting boxes for the cats. Thank you.

Thank you 🙏☺️
Thank you very much for showing and explaining each tool. They do look like very sturdy tools.

I reckon you'd have more control of that router plane if you pulled rather than pushed.
Did look somewhat awkward.
Is that how it’s done? Good to know.
@@gabrielmaroto18 I just reminded me of the movements you'd do with a spoke-shave
I did say it was my first time using it… also, it wasn’t a tutorial 💁🏻♂️
@@Flippingdrawers Indeed. It was good see such things exist, and reassuring that it wasn't the rubbish people say about direct buys from China.

@@laineymcd4074 It’s usually pushed, but I very often use it from both sides on a through cut, so push and pull. Works both ways.
It’s a win win. Tools for u and boxes for Mando!🎉
I was thinking the same thing! Hey Jay...@FlippingDrawers you should line all the packaging up for box comparison for your furry foremen!! Bahaha

❤ awesome tools! So cool you know how to use them! Pocket hole wow, and second one, dowel maker, so nifty! 🎉❤
Banggood makes the coolest tools. I love that little brass hammer. Enjoy, Jayy
I just love it when you throw boxes around! 😂😂 I want that dowel making thingy. 😜🦋
My god we used these many years ago when Adam was a lad.
Great selection of new toys!
I haven’t ever seen the plane router!! I can plane but not great at electric router!! 😊 Perfect cup of tea!!❤

Oooooooo shiny new objects!
lol yeah shiny AND brass 😂
Your reviews are so helpful. Useful, informative, and no silly business! Thanks, I hope they keep sending you stuff!
Router planes are so handy to use in a number of ways. You can pull as well as push. I have a nice vintage one that is wonderful to use.
Looks like you're going to have to expand your shop so you can store all of those new tools. We can never have enough storage spaces. LOL!
that is not a marking knife, but it's a "jig" to sharpen the chissels. So you have 2 chissels, 1 flat (mounted) and 1 pointed.
Good to know 🤭
Ooooh shiny and brass tool toys 😂👍🏼🇺🇸
Can you come over the pond, help me with my raised outdoor planter? Please😂
Nice pick up I only wish they would have given you the pro ruler designed by hooked on wood

So the mechanism on the bottom of the clamp allows for different sized holes correct? 🤔
At least a small range, yes
