I'm playing Shining Pearl as I watch this, and "barely diamond, sorta pearl" really got me

@@slevinchannel7589 It's Gen 4 at it's best but it's also very accurate to the original Diamond and Pearl version what are some of the worst games in the series, so ironically it's better when it's not accurate to the original version (like the new features, changed movepools and AI on later Gyms etc) and at it's worst when it IS accurate to the originals (like the selection of Pokemon, the Pokemon trainers use, the region etc), but overall a 7/10 type game.
Makes me wish they went the full ORAS route with it and added wild areas, Dynamax, full-on graphics update and such, because asdie from soundtrack, they really didn't improve much. And the made Cynthia's challenging team downright BROKEN.

Diamond and Pearl series is the only one I did not play when it first came out, so this was my first time playing both.
Cynthia’s Pokémon nearly wiped my team… I’m just thankful for healing items.

I think it's a shame that we still haven't gotten a honest game trailers on any of the Timesplitters games yet.

My original diamond game is broken and it’s too hard to get old Pokémon games. I wanted to be able to play gen 4 again so this was perfect for me

As someone who stopped playing after Gen 2 and started back at X/Y I can appreciate to see what I missed in better graphics.
But the originals already had the better graphics :-p
@@EmeralBookwise As someone who stopped after this gen, I disagree.
@@AdamGlory: just adding more pixels and polygons do not "better" graphics make.
The original D/P had an art style designed around the limitations of the system they were on. All BD/SP do is emulate that style on a system which no longer has the same limitations. It loses the charm and is in no way an improvement... certainly not one worth nearly twice the asking price of those originals.
@@EmeralBookwise That’s totally fair, actually. I’m curious what you think would have actually made them better, for the sale of visualizing it?
@@AdamGlory: Well, if the guiding principle was just supposed to be as "faithful" to the originals as possible, I don't think we needed remakes at all, when we could have gotten ports at less than a third of the cost.
But to entertain the idea of an actual remake, graphically I'd have wanted to see something more in line with Let's Go. Those games have a gorgeous art style that is unified across both field and battle scenes while still invoking nostalgia for the classic Game Boy originals.
To be clear I'm only saying I would have wanted BD/SP to look like Let's Go, not play like them. Although the following mechanic was definitely better implemented in Let's Go game, without any of the weird scaling issues larger mon have BD/SP, not to mention the addition of some Pokémon being rideable.
Setting graphics aside, BD/SP should have also included the improvements from the remake D/P already had, aka, Platinum. More of the updates from that game should have been included to make for the best Sinnoh experience possible. Along with maybe a post game Distortion Episode instead of just sticking Giratina at the bottom of an otherwise unimportant cave.

I've got both Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl for Christmas but I'm going to wait in January for the news on the update of Wonder Trades and GWS (Global Wonder Station) because they're the important part of the Pokemon Games even though Link Trade is available.
