So in this video I want to show you my way of drawing different types of hair and how to colour them. Just in 3 easy steps!
I tried to include all sorts of hairstyles and textures and how I illustrate them from start to finish.
Hopefully this provides some insight into my process and method ^^
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
I try to answer them :)

I've gotta say, I genuinely love your rendering style! you're one of my main art inspirations
Ohh wow, thanks a lot! This means a lot to me :)
I feel like for once Im finally learning the actual "hows" of designing the hair details. Most hair tutorials don't really give me an idea of why they do they spacing and sizes they do, but only cover the general tips and speak in "feeling language" that really only makes sense to someone who already knows what do.
Thank you for this!
I am so for real that you have finally made drawing hair click for me. It's something I've struggled with as I always get lost in all of the strands but literally the 5 styles of strands, then mixing them together is so so helpful. Thank you so much!
Bless you for this, rendering and drawing hair is one of my most difficult things to do 😭.
I'mma have to set aside time to study all of your vids, cause they're a treasure. Thank you 🥹
Oh gosh, I am happy to hear this! For me the sketch and lineart was the most complicated, so I enjoy rendering the most^^ I hope it could provide some insight in that matter :3
@@kurohshiroTHANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! i love you so much i will literally rip my beating heart out and serve it to you on a silver platter
Thank you so much Kuroshiro for breakdown the diff hair strands. I haven't seen anyone else drawn it out step by step and then give examples of how diff hair strands can be combined to make everything come together.
Thank you so much for making this video! I love the way you explain the different kinds of hair while using the same steps to draw them, it's a clear process and the things you pay attention to for drawing are very helpful!! Your way of drawing hair is great I love how flowy it looks and I'm glad you showed how you draw hair :) I've learned a lot from this and your videos, the editing and aesthetic of your videos is really cool as well!
Thank you so much for your tutorials! I've learned a lot from watching them. This one is another great one, especially because of all the examples you show. Also love your artstyle, editing and BGM choices
oh that's awesome to know! Thanks^^ Sometimes I am not sure if the music is too calm or too fast or prominent. I am glad you like it :3
YOU ARE A LIFESAVER!
I was struggling with my artstyle so much i wanted to quit art as a whole! thank God i found ur channel before i was completely burnt out :D
Im gonna be starting my study of ur artstyle tomorrow
The best guide of hair drawings!
EVEN WHEN U NOT WORRYING ABT THE PERFECT LINEART YOURS IS JUST AS PERFECT AS THE FINAL RENDER! OH M GEE!
Thank you so much for showcasing different types of strands and how you combine them! This is such a game-changer, every other video I've come across only talks about sections of hair and where it originates on the head, and yes-- while it's important, it can only take you so far. I've always been wondering if there were some sort of logic to strands and how other artists seem to freestyle them so easily, and this answers so many of my questions.
Once again, thank you for the great tutorial!
Aw I am happy to hear! I love following a basic pattern I can apply to the majority of my work. It speeds up my drawing process. Especially when it's something logical. So thanks a lot for your feedback and comment :) I am glad it provides some help! :)
THE MOST HELPFUL HAIR TUTORIAL EVER
I’m in love with your style and how you render hair, thank you so much for this tutorial💓
your channel is honestly such a gem im upset that i havent found it sooner !!! i love how your process is really thorough and easy to follow, and i love how you give us many different examples!! love the editing, love the rendering and the breakdowns, thank you so much
Love the subtitles! Love the music! Love the editing! LOVE YOUR DRAWINGS! It's been so long since I've finished an art tutorial without skipping a second! Thank you so much for this! The way you showcase your process is really clear and satisfying!
Oh wow seriously! That's absolutely amazing to hear, so sweet. I really appreciate this. Thank you so much 🖤
THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!!@@kurohshiro
This tutorial looks lovely! Thank you for sharing with us.
I am happy to hear! Thanks :3 Hope to share more in the future^^
Never watched a tutorial this precise tysm!
i love this style thank you, I can't wait to try it out
Wow, this was, by far, the most straightforward and useful video I have ever seen on TH-cam. Most of the time, I get confused with where and why they add those crescent-shaped strands on some parts of the hair, mostly 'cause they never even explained. I'm a beginner, by the way, but thanks for adding every single piece of info I actually needed in order to grow more as an artist! Great video!!!
I’ve personally always had such a difficult time drawing hair, thanks for the video! :D
this was such a comprehensive breakdown of how to draw hair. i've really been struggling recently, but i feel like this has opened a new doorway for me ;v;
The art style is immaculate
I adore your drawings soo much ♥️
Your tutorials are very helpful and understandable, and your art style is very beautiful!♥️
Gosh, thank you! Glad to hear that the videos are understandable :)
@@kurohshiroThank you so much!♥️
Late comment, but you have one of the most aesthetically-pleasing artstyle I've ever seen. The strokes look soft and fluid at the same time, and I adore the way you draw the character's eyes. They're hypnotizing.
This is a great tutorial too. I always wondered why my hair looks so stiff and blocky until now lol. The breakdown of the 5 different types of hair strands was what I was looking for this entire time without knowing.
I know you probably don't take request, but I'd love to see a tutorial on drawing expressions and how it affects the eye shape - that's something that I struggled with alot. Especially when it comes to keeping the character's eye shape consistent. I'd love to learn how to improve that from an experienced artist like you.
Anyway, underrated channel. Underrated artist. you earned a sub! 😊
rendering is so hard man.. i literally feel like i've learned so much from this. thank you so much!!
I'm gonna cry 😭 your art is so beautiful
This is so informative amd straight to the point. I love the tutorial so much.
I love how good and clean your art looks! I also use csp and ur tutorial has helped me a lot with how I render! Hope to see more of ur wonderful videos soon ^^
I've been drawing for a long time now and never had I ever thought of using anime wigs as reference for drawing simplified hair lol that's a super tip!!
I requested this tutorial!!! Thank you Thank you so so much for this 🙏🏻😭I’m so grateful for this
Ahw thanks for the request! I am glad to hear peoples input and ideas and trying to provide a video :)
Im so emotional right now. 🥺 I tried drawing hair for years. Watched many many videos. Most of them either speed ran through it or just used one black colour to do everything.
It was so helpful to see where to erase and join the strands and your use of a different colour to do the details helped to understand how they are layering..
Im gone cry now 🥹
Ngl it kinda looks like the exact way AI always renders the hair. But you have that magic human touch and it looks awesome ✨
I love your rendering style!!!😭❤️
😭💖🔥this was the best tutorial
I was actually about to look up how to paint hair and this came on at the perfect time!! i love how you draw all of your characters aaaah i just love your art style💗💗makes me wanna steal it👹🔪

This was perfect. Thank u
Ive been waiting for someone to do a tutorial like this for agesssss thank you
Ahh nice! Hope it will be helpful :)
I'm at a stage where I am trying to level up my hair. I really appreciate the 5 different hair shapes and combining them as that can give a quick exercise to practice the general shape. I also must admit I never thought to use cosplay wigs as a reference.
Nice!!❤
The hair in this tutorial is very good. It has a somewhat rough and voluminous art style, as well as detail in the hair folds, etc.
I like the rendering part, I get to learn how different artists shade the hair. Thank you for the tutorial! ❤
It's always interesting to see all the ways of coloring hair haha I think it's nice to see what you like and then adjust it to your process^^

I love this, your art style is so crunchy and sharp and elegant omg, I came from twitter, but still enjoyed this tutorial, thanks!!!
That's awesome to know :) I want my tutorials to be as close as possible to my usual illustrations :)
this is such a helpful video! also i really like how you got around the clicking sound bothering some people but still using something to signal that theres text on the screen:)
Yeah lol I thought that it's just such an important thing of my videos that I don't want to get rid of it. And seriously, I tried. Downloaded other people's clicking sounds, tried different sounds and so on but the og mouse click is unbeatable haha
IMPRESSIVE, love this rendering process. i've always struggling with this kind of hair rendering back then. till i meet this guide. the combined hair strands fundamentals 1:55 is really helped me a lot of new ways to draw hairs.
I am so happy to know that especially this part was helpful. I love basic instructions which are easy and clear so I thought this part is new to other hair tutorials ^^
Ate this video with fork and knife. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Awesome to know :)
Thank you sm ❤🥹
THANK YOUUU
aaa, thank you! i love your artstyle. but also on top of that, you break down how to get the hair looking light and flowy, simplifying it so that way it's easy to understand. thank you!
This is amazing to hear! I am glad the process was understandable :) I am always thinking of what information I would need in order to draw. So I try to structure the videos based on that ^^
