I agree! I love these guys enthusiasm and they seem "into Buell".....if their dealer network grows, I would consider a new Buell. My only reservation is the longevity of the company. Buell's road has been bumpy. I have owned 4 Buells over the years and loved them. Still feels like it's missing something though. I really want these guys to succeed!
I would buy one. I actually went to the international motorcycle show in Dallas years ago to meet Erik and talk about the 1190rx. They went under like 2 weeks later. I still want one bad. But i wanna know they'll be around especially at the price point. They're asking more than my 22 busa. Almost as much money as my 21 limited indian challenger
Sadly ebr failed in part bc ppl didn't buy it enough for them to maintain let alone grow. If the new Buell is treated the same idk.. guy has a lot of money to keep the company going for a bit but will he? Word is he is a big Buell fan and that's how all this came around
You can see from the media and the comments, that Buell has always been a very passionate brand. As a LONG time EBR/Bueller, I love the EB story too. Thank you Bill, for supporting the legacy of Buell. You have more passion for the brand (and much more skin in the game) than some commenter who bought a used Lightning. If I may, a word of advise. You didn't say anything. Corporate BS key words mean nothing to your audience. Show REAL progress of whatever you're doing to achieve your goal, because you didn't build that dirt bike, engineer that street bike, or build that drag bike. Bad pics of a dirty shop are better than nothing. Of course it's not done yet, we know. Your audience is gun-shy from empty promises from vapor-ware/media/politics and is more educated than most (passionate brand, right?), so 7:54 of saying 'excited' and 'things are happening'' with a complete lack of any information has our BS hackles up.
And he WON'T ever say anything of substance. He's a huckster who bought up what was left of the EBR debacle and now fronting himself as some dedicated venture capitalist. EBR wiped out a ton of wealth from both buyers and dealers who made the mistake of taking on that inferior line of crap. This cat following their lead. Where's the follow-up to this hot press release? th-cam.com/video/gS9SAPMbgVU/w-d-xo.html
Too many negative haters here. It's fantastic that Buell is coming back with some strong bikes. Great competition builds up all bikes. I am not a tank emblem snob, build a better bike and I will buy it. I have owned Honda's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's, Triumph's and most recently an Aprilia RSV4. I currently ride a 2020 KTM Super Duke GT so I think I have a fair idea of what a great bike should be. Finally someone else with an engine to match the SD. I am rooting for them and hope the features on the bike match the engine specs.
I met Bill at Daytona, seems to have a real passion for the product. Rasing a company from the dead is a difficult task. As an 1190rx owner I appreciate the effort. The 1190 platform is truly innovative and uniquely American. Unlike other countries, Americans struggle to support their own! This is a shame. It's easy to "Throw shade" but I appreciate and applaud the effort. Best wishes Buell!
Great presentation Bill and Jacob. There is support for the reincarnation of Buell. You, as a company, just need to get the brand back on the streets so it is recognized as new. Participating in (and being on the podium at) the club level races is also important so buyer's know the brand is as capable as the foreign bike competition also.
@@ebr-fan1117 Retired H-D Product development and know the Buell line better than most anyone else alive including the dynamics surrounding its collapse. @@frankcastle5294 So if the grand plan for LAP is to sell Polaris the Buell name, intellectual property, parts and products it is a win for the American brand, and the riders who want to buy American. Polaris has a dealership network and would do well to bring a sport bike back to the American people. Diversifying the Polaris brand brings sales in other portions of the company and makes good business sense. We'll have to see how it plays out.
@@ebr-fan1117 Absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Polaris was an analogy that apparently went over your head. I can tell you for certain that Polaris has absolutely nothing to do with any of this, including either the Buell name or EBR.
Been waiting years for the right naked bike to come along. sport bikes just aren't very practical unless you are at the track and the decline in sales suggests people want more comfort/rideability while retaining the fun factor and power of a sportbike. The 1190 sx sounds like it could check the boxes for me but I would like to know everything about it and the website doesn't really help. So many questions with so little information. I will give it some more time but I really hope buell can step up to the plate and compete in the segment. I would be very proud to own a exciting american motorcycle that can throw down toe to toe with the best of em.
I think you need an entry level hammerhead (think R3, R7, RS660) to grow the next generation of Buell riders. Hopping back in with an 1190 that is going to get compared against the established liter-bikes is going to be rough. Anyways, best of luck.
I have owned three Buell’s in my life a RSS1200,S2 and still have a S1 that I do track days with. I have little faith in the new company ability to survive after the initial rush due to dealer support and the advances of all of the major brands for the Hammerhead is over 5 years olds. I met Jacob at Daytona good guy and very smart. I wish them well but the future looks bleak at best.
Any plans for a middleweight track day / sports bike, something along the lines of the Ducati 899 or the KTM 890? That seems like a much more obtainable category of bike, and a fun V-twin that isn't a ducati would be fun as a trackday weapon.
Looking forward to information about production plans and information about parts support for all the bikes out there now being ridden. Parts support would be a definite earner.
The Hammerhead is just an 1190RX with a few slits cut into the plastic. No major upgrades in 8 years. Can’t get parts either though. I am having to go through a third-party company for fork seals.

As a Buell 1190RX owner and rider, I will say that the 1190RX/Hammerhead is a good bike and fits a niche. I don’t know if anyone from Buell reads the comments, but your video here does not inspire any confidence in the company whatsoever.
