Funny you should mention Dominic Berry's books on Cicero. I've read them too! Your video gives a really good insight into what being a student at Oxford is like. You're certainly working hard.
My problem with essays, which I actually enjoy writing if I am interested in the topic, is not in reaching the word count, but instead in far exceeding it and having to go back and take out a few words here and there to get within the allotted extra 10 %
Hi sam, i hope you are doing great. i loved your all videos and i also want some information regarding Mphil admissions. Is there is any possibility that i can get admission in Oxford with average grades? is you saw any case of student who got admission with grades lower than required grades at Oxford?
Hi, thanks very much for the question. Yes, I have seen cases where students were admitted into Oxford with grades lower than the official 'minimum requirements'. These are usually in contextual cases eg. two years ago where UK A Level students received computer algorithm created grades, some Oxford Colleges accepted students even if they missed their offer. In general, though, Oxford courses are very hard and one reason they ask for high thresholds to be hit is to try and make sure the most accepted candidates possible can survive/thrive with the courses. If someone came with really low grades, it might be a suggestion that they would not do very well on the course even if they were admitted. Hope that all makes sense, Sam
Hey Sam, great video as always. Curious as to how you write your essays. You said that you just had to write it into proper English at one point, does that mean you just bulletpoint each sentence for example then just write it up? I think it might make a pretty good video because people always like those “how to get high grades” type video titles. Maybe add the fact you’re an Oxford student and you could be on to a winner!
Yeah basically exactly that, I have a draft that is as long as the word limit and then I just make it into an actual essay. And I'll defo do the video idea, probably in the next holiday when I don't have vlogs to make and will be a good video for the week :)
Definitely my college more. Yes for ease, also Rad Cam is beautiful from outside but I've found not best inside :) compared to modern space for me in college
Hey Sam Will you help me with something Actually I want to do my bachelor's degree at Oxford so as international student how to apply for that ? Do you have any indian frnd who can help with that ?

Thank you, hopefully - and yeah he would definitely be a cool guy to know!
Robert Harris has written three “popular” books about Cicero - Imperium, Lustrum and Dictator). Worth reading if you fancy a lighter read.

Very important in Oxbridge to use your time efficiently so that tends not to be a problem people face much!
great video! so interesting to see what you get up to!
Thank you Abi!

what's the food situation because I thought everything was catered but then you opened your sweetcorn
Some colleges charge you a bulk fee for meals but in Trinity it is PAYG so I can eat in my room if I want and do more of this term :)
Hi Sam! Do you tend to use your college library more than the Bodleian? Is it just for ease?
Definitely my college more. Yes for ease, also Rad Cam is beautiful from outside but I've found not best inside :) compared to modern space for me in college
