Thanks so much for this info! I've been using Rocketbook for a few months now, mostly in lieu of tiny scraps of paper, and only recently starting taking notes of things I wanted to save. I was just emailing everything to myself but that got messy. I was trying to decide whether or not to start using other destinations and this video was a big help!

Hi, Jake - just subscribed! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I haven't even ordered my Rocketbook yet, but can't wait to get started. This video is so packed with great information, I know I'll be referring to it often.
Can you scan a document that wasn't written on the sheet directly. Example can I take a previously written sheet of paper and lay it on top of the page and scan it in .
Thanks Jake for the informative video! Question, which file type do you usually use? I tend to stick with PDF but mostly out of habit as I am not certain which is best. I like to be able to search in Evernote so I think PDF is better?
I typically use PDF to bundle my scans, then upload to Google Drive. If you're using Evernote you may actually be better off with bundled JPG because the PDF doesn't appear in-line the same way the JPGs do. Give it a try and see if it's better. Either way, as long as you have transcription turned on (or even just the Handwriting Recognition (OCR) Smart Search) your JPGs should be searchable in Evernote. ✌️
Hey Jake, is it possible to send my notes to a playlist-like folder? eg- Chemistry, Biology. I just want to make a directory for each of my school subjects
Sure thing! Just pick which of the destination services that you want to use (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc), as well as the location within that service that you want to place the file in. This is set up individually for each destination icon. So, for example, you could define 7 different folders within Google Drive, with each corresponding to a different icon (Chemistry is the rocket, Physics is the clover, etc.). I hope this helps! Enjoy
Thanks for taking the time to let me know Angela. I'm glad that you found the video helpful! If you liked this one, you may also find the other videos in my 'Everything Rocketbook' playlist interesting. All the best!
Thank you for this video. Lots of good information. I just got my rocketbook today. I do have a question...... If I use google photos as my final note file placement, would I have access to the notes using a computer? Even, if I switch phones or uninstall the app or if I stop using the rocketbook all together for good? Thanks in advance.
Thanks Felix! Good question. Your scan history in the app isn't backed up anywhere. That's a part of how Rocketbook protects your privacy. But using any of the destinations will send your note to that location (Google Photos, etc) and once it's been sent there, the App has no way of deleting it, so even if you delete the App, your note will remain in Google Photos, etc.
Thank you for this great video! Is it possible to add an usual post-it on a page and scan it together with the notes? Or is scanning in direct connection with the pen used?
This is a great series of videos! thank you! I have a question to ask. I use the RB Fusion and just added the panda planner to my collection. How do you simultaneously use destinations between the two notebooks? Meaning, do the destinations have to be identical with both the fusion and the panda? I can't quite wrap my head around how the panda pages fit into the same scheme as the destinations of my Fusion. How do you use the destinations in the Panda?
You do have to use the same 7 destinations for all notebooks unfortunately... I would look at the destinations you use most frequently and prioritize them. Then you can leave other notes without destinations checked and use the option of sending elsewhere after scanning. Another option would be to make a Panda Planner folder, then name your pages so that they self-sort somewhat when uploaded... For my bullet journals I use something like '2020 - Week ## (month)' as the title so that they automatically sort by year, then week.
That will depend on how you configure the destination settings. As I show in the video, there are many ways to access the transcription based on the location that you use. You may also find my 'testing the magic of rocketbook OCR' video to be helpful for this. In some cases, you can save the transcription as a separate file that gets saved alongside the PDF, etc. Or you can use it as the contents of an email, etc. Good luck 👍
I need to ask. What should the order be when snapping the pages? Is it like a camera where the first photo you shoot becomes the last in the gallery? that would mean I'd have to shoot from the last to the first page. Or does it put everything in order?
Good question. The first page you scan becomes the first page of the document, so scan from front to back if you want to simply replicate the order of the notebook 👍
Thank you for this video. It’s a bit over my head as I’m not very tech savvy. My Core notebook is on its way. I need to figure this part out. Do you by chance have a video on this for the non techies out there?
Sorry, there is a lot to unpack with the Rocketbook destinations. This is my only destination specific video, but you may find some of my other 'Everything Rocketbook' Playlist videos helpful. The destinations can be as complicated as you want them to be. I usually just set mine up with Google Drive. In that case I have separate folders for different projects I'm working on (or my bullet journal, etc) and each is assigned to a different icon. I also usually turn on smart search and smart titles in the ORC settings and save files as combined PDFs. That way, when you scan multiple images at the same time, they bundle together into a single document. Good luck 👍 and thanks for watching ✌
Hi Jake - thanks for the videos. So so helpful. Just used your code when buying directly through rocketbook so hope you get your dues! Excited to receive my exec flip and start using.
I haven't put out any text versions, sorry. But I do have a review of the panda planner and a transcription video you may like. They are in my 'Everything Rocketbook' playlist 👍
It would be perfect (for me) if Rocketbook has a connection with Google Keep. That's where i store all my notes. Any chance it will be so in the near future?
That would be great. I haven't heard anything about that expansion though, so I'm not sure if it would come in the near future. Try recommending it on Rocketbook's feature suggestion web page 👍
Not yet, but according to the Rocketbook User Suggestions website, it is under consideration for future development 👍 rocketbook.featureupvote.com/search?q=notion
Good, thorough overview - thank you. What I'm trying to figure out is, is there any way to have more than one set of destinations? At first I assumed I could do that by purchasing multiple notebooks, but the more I watch the less sure I am of that. For example, I would love to have a "Work" notebook where the destinations are my current projects, a "Creative" notebook where the destinations are my various hobbies such as writing or making board games, and a "Gaming" notebook where I could keep campaign notes for tabletop RPGs I'm running while keeping them organized into folders like NPC, Setting, or Adventure Log. Is this possible, or will the app pay attention only to the icon and not which notebook is being scanned? Thanks for any info you can give!
Thanks. You're right, the app only recognizes the same 7 icons for all books. It unfortunate, and I've seen people request this before, so I'm hoping there's a solution coming sometime, but likely not too soon. My expectation is that they could easily add more destination shortcuts to the scanning app so that you can select them on the fly, but they wouldn't correspond to the notebook icons... Good luck finding the right system for you 👍 and thanks for watching ✌
@@JakeReevesVideo Thanks for the quick and very helpful reply! I will probably still buy one of these, but just one now, and with tempered expectations. Whichever way I go, your videos have been helpful in making an informed decision, so thanks again. :)
I have a rocketbookfusion ,my question is that I do not have the destinations across the bottom, but have a q code in far left,do I put an x through that
Hi jake I just received my notebook and set it up however I am having trouble getting it to work with Google Drive? Any help would be appreciated thanks
Hi, sorry to hear that - I use Google drive almost exclusively with Rocketbook Destinations, so it should work. My first thought is that you should uninstall the app and reinstall it, but keep in mind that anything you have already scanned and that is only stored in your scan history will be lost. It may be easier to get in touch with me on Instagram if you need to troubleshoot further - or contract Rocketbook help, they are usually pretty quick to respond to email.
Hey, I recently got the Rocketbook fusion and I have to talk about the app itself...it's really not that good at all; especially the scans. I have to try really hard to get proper scans, and even then the quality is just extremely mediocre. Other scanner apps (Office Lens, CamScanner etc) are far superior. What has your experience been? And do you have any tips, or do you know if Rocketbook plans on making the scanner better?
Hi Mr. Harun, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't happy with the quality of the scanner. As I mentioned in my first Rocketbook video, I agree with you - the scan quality is not as good as many other dedicated scanners that I've used in the past. There are several 'Enhancement' types within the App's settings that you can play around with, but I haven't tested these extensively because I've been able to get results that work for my needs of documenting quick notes and my weekly bullet journal agenda. In my experience with Rocketbook though, they have made several improvements over the two years that I've been using their notebooks, so I still hope to see an improvement to the scan quality in the future. You should reach out to them and tell them about your experiences because they do actually document and listen to their customer feedback. Other than that, I can only suggest the same things I have in my videos - Scan in a place with good, not too harsh, diffuse lighting - Too little lighting and the dots/lines will be more prominent in the background - Too harsh of lighting and I find the letter contrast gets washed out. Good luck!
Dear Jake, thank you for your comprehensive explanation. But I would like to know how the OCR behaves with the Italian language. Thank you again. Simona
Very informative! Do you suggest having a separate notebook for each class (university) or can I use one Rocketbook for all four classes? For the icons, I mainly use Onenote, can I use each icon for the the same destination (Onenote) and send my scans different folder (one for each class)? Thank you for your time!
You should be able to send all 7 icons to different folders in OneNote. I don't know that you would need one Rocketbook for each class, but the more you have, the less frequently you'll have to erase the pages and upload. I would aim to upload and erase weekly to be consistent about it. So estimate how many pages of notes you would take in that time - because each Rocketbook only has about 32 pages. Good luck! 👍
@@JakeReevesVideo Thank you so much Jake! I so appreciate your prompt response! This helps a great deal! Keep up the great work! I love your content! You've earned a new sub!
Just about to buy my first notebook after listening to your fantastic videos. I hope to be able to use OneNote, but I do have one question about the OCR option. Do you know what font is used and is there a choice? Thanks!
Hi Wilma, I'm glad you liked my videos 👍 Thanks! Looking at my older uploads, it looks like the ORC text comes in as Calibri, but I don't think that this is something you can change when uploading from the Rocketbook App, unless you change it after the fact.
An amazing video thank you! If I choose the Fusion, which seems to be the only one offering a built in calendar option, when scanned will it upload to my ios calendar on my phone? Just seeing if there is that sync option.
Hi Suzy, unfortunately it won't synchronize yet. I know that is something the company has mentioned they were looking into in the past, but I don't think they are quite there yet. The only other one with a calendar would be the Panda Planner, but that has a lot more to it than just a calendar. I make my own bullet journalling templates in permanent marker so that my calendar is just how I like it. You can see a video on the Panda Planner version or how I bullet journal in my Rocketbook in my playlist 'Everything Rocketbook' ✌️ Thanks for watching 👍
🙃I have received my rocket book from college organization, Academic Advantage. I am really quite curious to check it out, I'm sure it will be quite help[full.
Hey man, superb in depth video as always! What really caught my eye is the ingenious system(s) you've created to keep track of just you in general e.g. the way you keep track of how long you slept and when your sleep got interrupted etc. Could you P-L-E-A-S-E make a video on just THAT: your systems on how you just track data on you? I really want to build and implement a system like that for myself to better understand myself, and then sort of 'hack' myself. You get what I mean mate?
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm glad you liked the video. I'll keep that in mind for a future video. If you want to see my daily trackers in a little more detail, check out my 'How I Bullet Journal' video ✌️
Thanks I'm glad you like the videos 👍 I would try to look up a comparison of OneNote and Evernote. Personally, I use Google Drive to store most of my notes ✌️
Great video..! Just one THING: Is there an option to SEND IT to a SPECIFIC Goodnotes Notebook, though? ( Using EMAIL to your GN adress works, but only as a "new document" in GN on top...It would be great, maybe in connenction with IFTTT or Apple Shortcuts to choose a SPECIFIC FOLDER/ NOTEBOOK INTO Goodnotes..! Any helping suggestions, on that , anyone..?! Thanks!
I thought there was a way to keep a list updated, so subsequent scans did not produce duplicates, but replaced the original file...? Would be awesome for lists. If this is a feature, I sure can’t figure out how to enable it?
clarifying question as i am debating buying this: does the notebook allow the destination symbols to all be under the same app, but in different folders? (ex: all use google drive/docs, but under different class folders English, Math, etc)
Yes. The folders are completely independent of each other, so each can be configured to any of the possible destinations. I mostly use Google drive and have different icons correspond to different folders.
is it possible to download and upload pdf to rocketbook for example say a soft copy book or pdf notes (even a picture really maybe that you wanna label using RB so can avoid having to draw yourself each time) and edit it with rocketbook, now using your hand writing to edit... and save again...
Unfortunately, the Rocketbook App doesn't currently support editing documents once the scan has been made. So, while you could print a picture, mark it up in person, then place it within the borders of the Rocketbook page to have it captured, you wouldn't be able to go back to it later to edit or continue marking up using the App. I hope I understood your intention and that this was helpful 👍
I’m a little lost. I just thought this stuff would save in the app. I don’t use any of this stuff. I am on an IPhone and bought this because the Notes app is also a little too complicated for me
You can still access it in the App as well; however, Rocketbook doesn’t want to store your data in their own servers (privacy implications), so instead, they give you options to save files to your own web-services. What this means though is that your files won’t carry over to the Rocketbook App on other devices or when you replace your phone.
Hi Jake, I've been using Rocketbook since January and I'm looking for a way to easily catalogue my notes into a searchable/keyword folder structure. Do you have a workflow you could show us on your channel? I've been uploading the images to google photos, but it's not ideal for cataloguing notes I frequently refer back to. I'm also hoping that the catalogue will display my notes in chronological order, based on my note date not my digitizing date... or both. Maybe something like ACDSee? Any tips? Please help. Anyone else find a solution?
Check out my recent video about my updated Bullet Journal method. I go into more detail about how I title my agendas to be chronological based on the week they represent, not when they were scanned. I use a couple different destinations depending on the icon, but my favorite is Google Drive. Good luck 👍
Thank you for an excellent presentation of Rocketbook's capabilities. May I suggest that you eliminate background music which adds nothing to your content and is not only distracting but makes your voice a bit unintelligible.
Good video - on the fence on Rocketbook, but I would have easily bought if it was available 5 - 10 years ago. I’d also have bought an iPhone 25 years ago. 😆
All a matter of how you would use it I suppose... I primarily use mine as a weekly agenda and for design plans (I'm an engineer); and I quite like it (clearly based on how much time I've inserted in sharing my experience).
Do you happen to know why my scans are going to multiple destinations when I only select 1? For all my destinations, I have auto-send off. Sometimes it doesn't even give me the step where I can chose a destination, it just sends it off to many of them (but not all of them). And when I check the history to see where my scan went, it has many random destination icons lit up, and eventually they do show up there (some taking longer than others, like Google Drive or Dropbox the next day or next few days, and email within 5 mins up to 3 hrs later).
I've heard this happen every once in a while, but not consistently... Best to reach out to Rocketbook directly about this - their customer service is pretty good 👍
I’ve been struggling for about a week now. I’ve made an account with Trello but nothing goes to Trello. My default is my email and there it just sits. I wanted to put it in a better app and Trello looks like the one but I always have to send it to “other location” and on Trello it’s just nowhere to be found. Please help. My Rocketbook app has like 25 scans and idk what to do with them lol
Don't feel dumb... It could be something small that's just getting messages up. Which icon do you have the Trello board assigned to? And did you pick a specific board? - Also, may be faster to try to help you troubleshoot if you can message me on Instagram (@jakereeves.reviews).
Probably best to contact Rocketbook directly, because this may require some back and forth. Their customer service is pretty good though, so don't worry - I'm sure they will be able to help. Contact them using: getrocketbook.com/pages/contact-us
By chance is your scanning picking up more than one of the icons at the bottom of the page? My experience has been that you only get one email per email destination configuration
Can anyone asap reply to my question please. It’s annoying the crap out of my rocket book/ Evernote experience. How can I have my scanned Rocketbook PDF files show up as a printout in Evernote instead of just showing up the pdf link attachment?!
Hehe nvm.....I figured it out. I left it as jpeg file and no bundle on the rocketbook destination option. I wrote this fyi in case someone was having the same problem. Hope it helps lol

I haven't put out any text versions, sorry. But I do have a review of the panda planner and a transcription video you may like. They are in my 'Everything Rocketbook' playlist 👍
Is the note searchable?
It would be perfect (for me) if Rocketbook has a connection with Google Keep. That's where i store all my notes. Any chance it will be so in the near future?
That would be great. I haven't heard anything about that expansion though, so I'm not sure if it would come in the near future. Try recommending it on Rocketbook's feature suggestion web page 👍
Is it possible to integrate Rocketbook with NOTION ? all the best - Martin 🙂
Not yet, but according to the Rocketbook User Suggestions website, it is under consideration for future development 👍

You're very welcome 👍
@@JakeReevesVideo ty for the help
Simona
I believe that the OCR is only supported for english currently. Sorry
I got one for college and had no clue how to use it so thank you so much 🤣
You're very welcome 👍
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy my videos 👍
@@JakeReevesVideo Thanks for the quick response! I will still buy the notebook and go from there. Stay safe.
Thanks you too 👍
An amazing video thank you!
@@JakeReevesVideo Thank you so much! Happy Thanksgiving!
You're welcome. Same to you ✌️
🙃I have received my rocket book from college organization, Academic Advantage.
Quick and to the point, thanks for creating this!
You're very welcome Alicia 👍 Thanks for taking the time to comment, it means a lot ✌️ Enjoy!
For a student, can anyone tell me if Evernote would be the best app to send my notes to? Thank you🐨
By the way Jake this video was super helpful!!!
Thanks I'm glad you like the videos 👍 I would try to look up a comparison of OneNote and Evernote. Personally, I use Google Drive to store most of my notes ✌️
@@JakeReevesVideo thanks :)
Great video..! Just one THING:
Is there an option to SEND IT to a SPECIFIC Goodnotes Notebook, though? ( Using EMAIL to your GN adress works, but only as a "new document" in GN on top...It would be great, maybe in connenction with IFTTT or Apple Shortcuts to choose a SPECIFIC FOLDER/ NOTEBOOK INTO Goodnotes..! Any helping suggestions, on that , anyone..?! Thanks!
(PS: I meant, like ADDING a scanned document at the BACK of an existing notebook in GN would be great!!)
Wow! Very good information. Thank you. 👌🏾
I thought there was a way to keep a list updated, so subsequent scans did not produce duplicates, but replaced the original file...? Would be awesome for lists. If this is a feature, I sure can’t figure out how to enable it?
Ya, I don't think they have that yet, but I too hope it's in the works 🤞
clarifying question as i am debating buying this: does the notebook allow the destination symbols to all be under the same app, but in different folders?
Uni also launched similar ink. Can you test the difference between pilot?
I'll look into it. Thanks
As others have said - so valuable!
Thanks Theresa 👍 That means a lot ✌️
Just got my Rocketbook and I am wondering how the destinations "appear" at the bottom of the page - all I see is the OR code.
Notability or Notion?
Not supported yet, but you can put in a request through: rocketbook.featureupvote.com
Thanks for watching and the suggestion 👍
Good video - on the fence on Rocketbook, but I would have easily bought if it was available 5 - 10 years ago. I’d also have bought an iPhone 25 years ago. 😆
All a matter of how you would use it I suppose... I primarily use mine as a weekly agenda and for design plans (I'm an engineer); and I quite like it (clearly based on how much time I've inserted in sharing my experience).
Incredibly useful video! Thank you so much!!!!
You're very welcome 👍
This was great, Jake, thanks!
You're very welcome 👍
No “how-to” video seems to help me with this issue which makes me feel extra dumb
Don't feel dumb... It could be something small that's just getting messages up. Which icon do you have the Trello board assigned to? And did you pick a specific board? - Also, may be faster to try to help you troubleshoot if you can message me on Instagram (@jakereeves.reviews).
Super helpful video- thanks so much!
You're very welcome Amy 👍
Use caution when creating folders i now have many folders that i cannot rename or delete not a fan for multiple uses
Need help trouble shooting...My Rocketbook is not sending my scans to my gmail...why???? Help :)
Probably best to contact Rocketbook directly, because this may require some back and forth. Their customer service is pretty good though, so don't worry - I'm sure they will be able to help. Contact them using: getrocketbook.com/pages/contact-us

No problem. I hope you can get the issue resolved quickly 👍
@@JakeReevesVideo me too these notebooks are lifesavers! I'm obsessed!!
Haha, I'm glad to hear it 👍 I quite like them too
when I scan, I get multiple scanned emails to multiple destinations. how can I limit it to just two destinations.
By chance is your scanning picking up more than one of the icons at the bottom of the page? My experience has been that you only get one email per email destination configuration
@@JakeReevesVideo yes, how do I set my scans to go to 1 destination.
Only check off one destination. Only the ones you want to use with that scan.
thanks for the help

Great video. Thanks very much!
Thanks Kevin 👍 Glad you like it ✌
What about IPhone use?
What about it? The Rocketbook App is also available for iPhone. And some of the destinations like iCloud and messages are iOS specific 👍
@@JakeReevesVideo you didn’t mention it that’s why I asked
Can anyone asap reply to my question please. It’s annoying the crap out of my rocket book/ Evernote experience. How can I have my scanned Rocketbook PDF files show up as a printout in Evernote instead of just showing up the pdf link attachment?!
Hehe nvm.....I figured it out. I left it as jpeg file and no bundle on the rocketbook destination option. I wrote this fyi in case someone was having the same problem. Hope it helps lol
Glad you figured it out. Sorry, just saw this 👍

Anybody else have problems with the pen writing on the page? Ive had 2 replacements
Am I going blind?!?! I can't see those icons at the bottom of the page!
They are always difficult to expose correctly because they are a faint grey - much easier to see on Rocketbook’s marketing materials - my bad
@@JakeReevesVideo sorry, wasn’t complaining about your video, I was talking about my rocket book!! I can’t see the icons in my own rocketbook! I don’t know if it’s me, this rocketbook, or if they’re always that faint?!
Hmm…. I usually don’t have an issue seeing mine in person. Perhaps send a picture of it to Rocketbook and ask if it’s normal. In my experience, their customer service is pretty good. Does it scan properly when you use it?
Thanks for the video 👍

Nope! The App is completely free to use. No subscriptions!
