I did my Master's through WGU last year, and I did it in learning and technology. I completed it in 5 months, and I liked the program. I worked on it everyday when I was teaching. I would teach all day get off at 3:45, and then work on it until 9-10 pm. Not all classes have a test you have to take at the end. A lot of them are papers and projects. I only took 2 proctored tests in my degree from WGU. It is a good thing that you didn't choose to do it starting in February-March. Your 6 months would have pushed you to August, and for your capstone you need live student data, meaning that you would have had to pay for an extra 6 months of time to finish your Masters just to get the data when students are in school in September. You're really inspiring to me! You are so positive in everything you do and it inspires me to become even more positive. I'm currently a sophomore in K-6 Elementary Education and I am so passionate about teaching but I sometimes get scared. Watching your videos boosts my confidence and reassures me that teaching is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I do plan on getting my Masters degrees (most likely multiple if possible) and eventually work my way up to either an EeD or PHD. You're doing amazing and keep listening to your gut!
Congratulations again, girl!! NC doesn’t get a pay-raise with masters, so I’m holding out on my masters until I’m completely ready. I am so busy right now, it just wouldn’t be as beneficial for me to half-commit to it. The only way I can get a pay-raise is national boards, which is my next steps at this moment. This sounds like a really great program though and very do-able. I’m excited to hear your experience with it! Seriously, your kittens are the cutest!! Oh my gosh I wanna squeeze them.

How’s the school in regards to the teaching program? I’m currently at post University getting a bachelors in child studies not sure if I want to transfer due to the student teaching program they offer. My school doesn’t offer that so I’ll have to do post baccalaureate.

I just got excepted at Bridgevalley to fulfill my Associate degree in Early Childhood education, then I'm going to transfer my credits and attend WGU to fulfill my Bachlors degree in Elementary and Special education Duel

I know you said it was self paced, but are there due dates for the projects? Also, how does the program do grading like are there teachers that read over your work? So happy for you!
Nope! Everything is self-paced meaning there are no due dates. And i'm not sure how the grading process is for like essays, but the tests are multiple choice so that is just system graded.
Did anyone here get there bachelors in a non teaching degree and then for the elem Ed masters program? I’d like to pick your brain if possible-that seems the route I may take. Thanks! Sam

Yes! Ours is in February. And we do have Thanksgiving break, but that is before December 1st (when I start the program).
