    Yes great instructions! Couldn’t have done it without you! It was kind of hard with no press but got it! Thank you for taking the time sharing this!

    JD dealers Always sold me complete spindles. They said they were not serviceable. I only wish they could have been grease-able ! Great Video and instruction ! Thanks !

      I know of a couple folks that have "made" the spindles greasable but there is no way to install seals so you end up with a really weird greasable but not spindle. They are certainly serviceable.

    I did this last year, I got the part spindle, hammered it in and it was too small. So I had to order a different one, and I dropped it on the floor and screwed up the threads. When I put it all together It was the bearing!

    Great instruction! I was trying to press bearings out, and they would only go halfway each way. Didn't know about that middle snap ring. Life's good now...lol!!

    I have a JD D110 riding mower and the deck is all beat up from the previous owner, I had to do some welding on it but I really need a deck. Does anyone know if there's a website that sells used decks in good condition for John Deere?

    could you tell me the part no. for the bearings or the size of them. Its so hard to find these parts by the year. My deck is a 1970 model 38 inch same spindle as yours.

      JD9296 would be the OEM part number. In the JDparts.com catalog search for “38” and then look under the tractor mounted mower.

    How does that half moon key for the pulley prohibit pressing the bearing housing and pulley off the mandrill shaft ? That is not obvious.

    • @mmrbeef
      @mmrbeef  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you do not take the key out the mandrel will not slide through the bearings. I need to go back and remake these videos with some better camera angles.

    Great video, but why didnt he just press both bearings out at the same time on the press width a suitable with pipe or socket ?

      @mmrbeef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I understand your comment correct, because there is still a snap ring in the middle so there is no way to press the first bearing out. You could do the second bearing with a press and normally they are not that "stuck" in there.

      Remove the first C-clip and press that bearing out from the backside ... won't quite make it all the way because of the middle clip but it's only a tap or two w/punch to get out ... then turn around and press the 2nd bearing out from the center clip with a bolt or something large enough on the bearing ...

    I have pulleys rusted on and ive even soaking them for a week. How it what should I do to get the pulleys off ?

    • @mmrbeef
      @mmrbeef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes that kind of thing happens. Are you using a press or a hammer? A press can generally break them free, even a cheap 6-10 ton bench top press.

      Some have suggested making a triangle (wooden?) to rest the pulley on and then press out ...

    Also I might trade my 322 with my 50 deck, and my 54 blade for his 430 no attachments, is that a good tractor and is that a good deal?

    • @mmrbeef
      @mmrbeef  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it really depends on what you would like to do with the 430. If you have no desire to mow with it I do not see a huge issue but I do think outright selling the 322 will net you close to the value of a 430 w/ deck. The 430's are great machines if they have been taken care of. They will last thousands of hours if they are treated right. I recently saw a 430 similar to what you were describing (seller was asking 2,500 or a trade for a 322/332). I'd have to go back and see the ad again... can't remember where the ad was thought! Haha

      mmrbeef yeah, I would kind of like to mow and snow plow with it

    • @jackolson6479
      @jackolson6479 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mmrbeef are there any problems with the 430’s. Are they considered to be better fit than the 322’s to mow with and plow snow?

    Only thing I need to see how to do and ya don't show it. Awesome. Lol good video otherwise. But how the heck do you take the key out?

    • @mmrbeef
      @mmrbeef  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I typically use a brass punch and hammer. Rock the key back and forth. You can also use a pair of wire cutters and pry it out. Sorry I skipped that step.
