Exactly! 👏🏾 People can diminish that all they want but marriage is first a solid commitment and in our days we don't know what "commitment" mean anymore.
+KeoneArt Meaning people are the problem. Not the marriage itself, just like dating its just a title. People make it into something its not. A true marriage, is when you intertwine your spirits into one. Its kind of why people say your my "soulmate". Meaning you are now one being, there is no mine only ours. Treat the other as you would want to be treated after all you literally are one being now when you truly commit to each other. If you aren't connected to each other spiritually and wholeheartedly marriage becomes just a title
+KeoneArt A decision to be with someone, and a decision to commit to someone. Are very different, in a decision you can change your mind because you're not quit all in. A commitment, is all in wholeheartedly there is no going back. Thats why they say people don't know what commitment means anymore, no many people still know what it means. To make a "commitment" to something and to be "all in". But also say people forget the old saying treat others as you would want to be treated, as in your friends, family, and spouse. Not just strangers, most or some people treat people that they just met better than own family, friends, and lovers. And they wonder why they get divorced and why some friends leave and family stop talking to them. Treats others as in everyone loved ones and all as you would want to be treated
Not really. Marriage is an institution that is no longer needed, since the advent of the industrial revolution. Thus it's high failure rate and steep decline over the years. See BGS IBMOR'S YT pages.
The problem is marriage isn't as sacred as it used to be. Too many people are unfaithful nowadays plus it costs too damn much. Not that there aren't exceptions but marriage isn't really about love anymore
+Brendan Harrah Marriage has never been about love. It's always has been and always will be a commitment. Marriage solely based on love will never be successful.
Most marriages end in divorce because people are selfish and slave to their feelings. Love is a choice, a commitment. It's not just a feeling. There are going to be days when you don't "feel" like you love your spouse, but that's where commitment comes in. You choose to stick it out and press foward. Feelings are fleeting. I'd say your mature enough for marriage when you understand that marriage is not just about you. You are a team, and should always strive for oneness. If both people came into the marriage with a SELFLESS mindset, and put each other's needs first. Divorce would never happen.
I got married to my wife after 14 years. If the people are compatible and meant to be, being married is better and certainly makes a difference. Unless you are married you couldn't understand. At least it was like that for me.
+Andrew Bentz But why do you need to get married? That's my question. What changes between the day you weren't married, and they day you weren't? You aren't with the person because they can fit the ring you put on their finger. Why do you need a ceremony and legally binding papers to be with them?
+megamixa it is a level of commitment that you can't get out of just chillin, kicking it or bf/gf. I am by no means settling with somebody, because for me there will only be 1 marriage in my life. Divorce is not in my vocabulary. To each their own I suppose. With other relationships it is to easy to say eff it, quit and move on. It is suppose to suck and be hard to get a divorce. Work that shit out. Society is full of too many quitters these days.
Marriage is just a joint business venture. Only a few benefits to getting marriage. Tax breaks, health insurance and life insurance. Also, its not a total fair contract for both parties. Its mainly an investment for ladies.
It used to be that men married women to inherit what was left to them because only men governed money. Women had no rights to what was theirs. Then there were housewives. But nowadays women contribute equally if not more to the household income, so hush all that noise.
+CLUTCH1st VLOGS Coming from someone who's married with two kids, what you said couldn't be further from the truth. The main difference between marriage and just dating is that when you're married you have to work harder at it, because it's for life and you can't just dump em because you're not feeling that person that particular day. If it was easy everybody would do it I suppose. People give up too easily which is why most marriages fail, one or both parties stop caring/trying.
the biggest point is " if something was to happen to your father right now your mother couldn't even make a decision to save his life because technically he's not her husband " that was the point.

Man that pizza analogues is stupid and irrelevant. How are you gonna compare an object with an individual that in most cases is maturing learning and growing on a consistent basis? It's not about just seeing the same person all the time. it's about the experiences you share, that good and that bad. That's the problem with people, they too fair weather. It's all good until a little rain falls and then they wanna give up...
technically, advances in technology, dough-kneading techniques, etc. over time would equate to better pizza so the comparison isn't as irrelevant as it might seem.
marriage is like everything else in life u only get off it what u put into it.but it take two people to be on the same page and lots of communication with both parties involved.never get to relaxed and take the other person for granted and never forget why u feel in love and don't forget things change overtime but not your love for each other
Best episode yet. Loved it. Here's my two cents. Marriage in this day and age has turned into a contractual obligation more than the spiritual one it used to be. People no longer fight for their marriages anymore, they just hit that first bump and say "I"M OUTTA HERE!!"
50% not 60%. The girl sounds salty. This is why marriage doesnt work. Because people are selfish and keep looking at it from a materialistic perspective. If you find the right person who is willing to commit to you and you take care of each other. That is what you should be striving for. The first girl is right, when it comes to rights, if you're not married and have been with someone for a very long time, shit can hit the fan quickly if something goes wrong.
Tahir's analogies were on point. He was speaking that truth but that plot twist was on point too, speaking the single man's thoughts while living the married man's life.

Kasey Channler men and women are different because that's how we were made. We can live together, we just have to work through our problems and it would be better if you found somebody compatible with you
It's not marriage it's the people. Look at the mentality of this age. marriage is a beautiful thing when it's between two people who want to be married and believe in the vows takin before god and till death do them part.
i think the reason so many marriages end in divorce is because the two people don't have God between them and they get married for the wrong reasons. you have to love that person, while that person is at the same time loving you. through happy times, sad times, dry times, wet times, through everything. those two people have to decide to stay together. if you are with someone who you know isn't gonna meet you half way and stay there, or if you are someone who doesn't wanna stay at one table with one person, then you shouldn't get married.
Tahir is crazy! That's what keeps a marriage going...knowing that you can talk shit AND be married and your spouse loves you just the same #TeamMarried LOL
Marriage isn't a business it's a sacred act between 2 people who love each other more than they love them selfs but the media and all this other social media bull shit sent out this misconstrued message that marriage doesn't matter well it does matter it should be a goal for everyone to find there soulmate and say those words "I do"

Marriage is not suppose to be about money. Money is the root of all evil remember and evil comes in all different shapes and sizes. Marriage is about the commitment of a Man and Woman and God. +PrincejeffyPS3 Most of what Tahir said was for laughs and shock value. I agree with your point. They only showed one viewpoint of the debate basically
To be fair, you can be a father but that don't mean you know how to be a father. Perspective from the outside can always be beneficial no matter what subject. That said, you should always prioritize advice from people that are married.
As someone who's engaged, marriage for me is basically the ultimate commitment. I can't imagine my life without my fiance, I just can't. It's two people deciding that they want to be together for their rest of their life. I can understand why it isn't for some people, or maybe the right person have to come along. A lot of people aren't ready for something like that, they are still are selfish and want to do what they want. Make sure to wear condoms or use birth control if you want that life though, because when you have child you can't be selfish anymore. I just can't understand why people can;t get this concept that relationship is work, marriage is work. Maybe someone is against the government getting involved in their personal life, okay fine, just be together in essence.
Sorry, Kanisha. You're on your own with this one. Marriage is definitely overrated. The law shouldn't be involved in your relationship unless harm is done.
I'm on the marriage side. And Anne just got proven that marriage is still significant when 3/4 people are married in that room. As long as you're happy with you choice, it doesn't matter. I'm personally on the marriage side.
carl mosby Come on man marriage doesn't have one set of rules, people have been getting married since forever, and now Christians want to tell people who and how people should marry. White people forced us to follow these damn rules and now when they realize it's a bunch of bullshit they just stop following it, but we keep on listening to the words some Jewish guy said 2000 years ago.
Why do so many guys think that when you get married thats the end of the "fun life", going into it with that mentality is terrible. You should think of it as new journey and having more fun with the L.O.Y.L
I feel like I'm the only person in the world that wants a marriage 😞 and not just because of the paper or for bragging rights, but the commitment with my soulmate under God's word
My parents were married and before that they were friends for awhile then they started having problems because of my "dad"(I don't claim him because he doesn't do anything for me or if he does it's basically nothing + he had another child when he doesn't take care of the 3 children he already had). My mom tried to make it work but it wasn't cutting it. So, what I'm basically trying to say is that marriage isn't exactly the problem people are.
a divorce is just a expensive breakup. i don't see it like 50% percent of marriages fail, i see it much as a general relationship failure. even if they were not married, they would have broken up anyways .
my only problem is people who are married always telling you to get married because of how good it is, meanwhile I know hardly anyone who is HAPPILY married
Very interesting topic. I think marriage is what you make of it. So because 60% of marriages end in divorce (which doesn't even get into the specifics of why people divorce) we forget about the other 40%? They touched on the issue of finances and said they weren't down to share funds. Let's say two people in a relationship both make 50K and they have their own places. If things are great between the two, why wouldn't you want one household bringing in 100K?! Granted, that's an ideal situation, but it's realistic for a lot of people. Either way, everything in life is subjective and we all have our views. I can't fault anyone for not wanting to get married. To each, his/her own.
Marriage is the ultimate commitment. Yes it is legal, it's a piece of paper, yada yada yada... ...if you're willing to make that kind of legal binding commitment, that's more than just being in a relationship.
+onealmusicgroup It's not a commitment. You can get divorced. Buying a car or a house is a bigger commitment than marriage. That's why they don't check your credit when you get married but they check it when you buy a car or house. You can't return a car that you bought and falling behind on car or house payments has life-long repercussions. But getting divorced is no big deal.
+JELIFISH19 You respond as though commitments can't be broken. You can also stop payment on the car and there are reprocussions. If said marriage ends with disagreement there are reprocussions that wouldn't not necessarily exist if it were simply a relationship ending. Henceforth, a commitment. C'mon man you need a stronger argument than that. Your argument against shouldn't allow for such an easy rebuttal as to use said argument against you.
my mom and dad never married and when my dad died she couldn't sign any legal papers and since I was the oldest I had to sign. my mom had to put life partner in his papers. it broke her heart.
@1:14 Actually common law marriage is a thing in certain states. In which 2 people are technically married after living together for so long, being a couple, having consummated and share financials. Which would put one or the other in direct decision making of the other in the case of a fatal conflict. All without having gone to a court to legalize papers on 'being married'.
People aren't even dating anymore. Just talking to each other wasting time, sleeping together, catching feelings or ending up in unstable & unhealthy "Situationships". Relationships, Marriage & Love has been downplayed in Social Media/Society that people seem to be dating for everything else that's superficial, and then wonder why their relationships/marriage or love is so fuckin dysfunctional. The values in this country are at a all-time super low. You people spend way too much time acting like you've made it than you do ACTUALLY trying to make it PERIOD!
4 simple rules : Marriage/Relationship is what you make it. #1 rule with any marriage or relationships communication and if you have this love will lead. #2 keep folks out your business what ever you or your significant other choose unless spiritual guidence and you have to be real careful with that. Dont know if you heard but some people are claiming to know what God wants for your life better then you for a 10% fee. #3 no matter what you be you (not the lustful you ) and by the way lust can be the desires of your heart money, careers, sex, etc only you know that answer. #4 Pray together work towards goals and please please please Keep Folks Out cha shit!!!! ...🤓
marriage in terms of commitment is far from overrated. People don't really want to have to start over with someone new. It's hard though because it takes a lot of compromise and forgiveness to make it work
Everything you do in marriage (with the exception of legal shit, & joint shit) you can do together with someone else. WITHOUT being married. You can break up & not have to deal with a quarter of the bullshit people (Divorcing) breaking off a marriage. Fuck being married 😂.
+Platinum Lewis Especially the financial crap. Why is it that it costs a fortune to have a wedding then if you get a divorce that costs too? SMh Who has time and money for that? Its ridiculous. Then if there are children involved it makes it even more complicated.
It's not that marriage is business or anything, I mean it can be looked in it that way. But marriage is or used to be sacred because the act of marriage kinda solidifies the bond between a couple, thats why it's so favoured. The act of marriage is kinda like there are invisible bonds between the two partners, that brings them together, it kinda makes their relationship 'official' because its written on a piece of paper. But I can tell you girls or guys are really do love their partner inside beg to be married. It's just like if a person proposes to you, then its like they want to be with you forever. Its just kinda like a safe thing tbh. But then again being not married and in a relationship is beneficial for alot of people.
To put it simply. Marriage isn't the problem people are

carl mosby Come on man marriage doesn't have one set of rules, people have been getting married since forever, and now Christians want to tell people who and how people should marry. White people forced us to follow these damn rules and now when they realize it's a bunch of bullshit they just stop following it, but we keep on listening to the words some Jewish guy said 2000 years ago.
+el tigre negro You would find a way to blame the white man lol fuck outta here
+Ogre Doug Nah it isn't the white man's fault anymore, we now have the knowledge so we could do better.
el tigre negro
If marriage aint for you that's cool but why bash it so hard?
"if he got lil or big in his name you deserve everything that happens to you" 😂😂😂
marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4
'your house deserves to get broken' WHAHHAHAA DAMNNNN

Why do so many guys think that when you get married thats the end of the "fun life", going into it with that mentality is terrible. You should think of it as new journey and having more fun with the L.O.Y.L
I feel like I'm the only person in the world that wants a marriage 😞 and not just because of the paper or for bragging rights, but the commitment with my soulmate under God's
word
It's plenty of people who want the same things you do. Don't look to the world to hold God's standards. Praying for you. Stay encouraged.
Amen
this is my favorite episode of the cooler. and Kanisha is my all time favorite person on All Def Digital
tahir moore needs to be on every episode of the cooler cause he is to funny😂😂😂😂😂
I'm CRYING! "Yeah, I've been happily married for 3 years." 😭😭😭
That girl in the dress though! We need to see more of her lol. Like frfr, I ain't gone say it no mo!!
TheBlackShinobi Bruhh it's not even deep lol, I'm talking about her voice lmao
Bruh she fine asf! I need a name
Donell Harrison Her name in the video
+Mardarrius Morgan I see it now. Appreciate it!
Donell Harrison no problem bro
My parents were married and before that they were friends for awhile then they started having problems because of my "dad"(I don't claim him because he doesn't do anything for me or if he does it's basically nothing + he had another child when he doesn't take care of the 3 children he already had). My mom tried to make it work but it wasn't cutting it. So, what I'm basically trying to say is that marriage isn't exactly the problem people are.
here after Jada had an entanglement on Will lmao
Man Tahir Moore is that dude man. Uncontrollable laughter whenever he on screen.
a divorce is just a expensive breakup. i don't see it like 50% percent of marriages fail, i see it much as a general relationship failure. even if they were not married, they would have broken up anyways .
Tahir is now one of my favorites the drop put him on my list and this just solidified it
thick lady coming in like a lawyer 😂
my only problem is people who are married always telling you to get married because of how good it is, meanwhile I know hardly anyone who is HAPPILY married
Who caught the Will and Jada swinging comments tho!? Fast forward to 2020! Lol
5:33 wait what?! 5:37 Dying laughing....omg I needed that!!
Marriage on the koo , being single will only last for so long
Tahir is undefeated 😂🙌🏾
It is so sad marriage isn't sacred anymore.
Its Sacred, just not in AMerica.
😂😂😂 Tahir spreading the gospel!!!
....all I saw was that dress girl got on, imma go ahead and leave to re-hydrate myself, I'm sorry

Smh...that gets you horny....
My dude Tahir, I didn't see that coming. You still sounded like me though 😂😂😂
it's actually 40% of marriages that end in divorce
100% of alive people die at some point
NaturalCurl Beauty way more now
Aside from the serious topic this was so funny. Good episode. Keep them coming.
Kanisha is my favorite🙌🏾
And now in 2020 I laugh even harder when girl on the right brought up Will & Jada’s relationship😭😭
I'm hoping to get married ❣💍
Yall need to put some Respeck on marriage
Its not even 60% she got the statistic wrong lol
Tony thetiger Haha. That did seem kind of high. I just went with it. So did everyone else in the video.
LMFAO 😂 😂 😂 😂 that ending though
So does the in the black and violet represent marriage and the girl in the grey represent single life if so i'm choosing the girl in the grey
That plot twist tho
my mom and dad never married and when my dad died she couldn't sign any legal papers and since I was the oldest I had to sign. my mom had to put life partner in his papers. it broke her heart.
Lmao this dude got a wife tho
And she bad. You fee me?!
And she bad. You fee me?!
that switch up at the end killed me..."you acting like i was tryna f*#k"...lol
Bill Burr said it best if you were going skydiving and the instructor told you 60% of the parachutes wouldn't open would you still go skydiving?
lol love bill burr do you listen to the podcast
I don't get it...lol
+Prince Ibrahim its in relation to marriage because 60% of marriage ends in divorce so why do people keep on getting married if they know this
@1:14 Actually common law marriage is a thing in certain states. In which 2 people are technically married after living together for so long, being a couple, having consummated and share financials. Which would put one or the other in direct decision making of the other in the case of a fatal conflict. All without having gone to a court to legalize papers on 'being married'.
Y'all needed @Kevonstage for this episode
Love these conversations. Keep it up
People aren't even dating anymore.
I feel you Fam 💯 Truth
Speak on it!
#4 Pray together work towards goals and please please please Keep Folks Out cha shit!!!! ...🤓
Tahir, please hold this L....
😂😭😭 Tahir, his last comment got me weak
Shawty in the dress
+JarrelGTV They both wearing dresses. lol
+George etiorbo Greg dress lol
marriage in terms of commitment is far from overrated. People don't really want to have to start over with someone new. It's hard though because it takes a lot of compromise and forgiveness to make it work
pro marriage argument was weak af.
"oh yeah I've been happily married for 3 years now" had me DEAD😂😂😂💀💀💀💀💀💀
Everything you do in marriage (with the exception of legal shit, & joint shit) you can do together with someone else. WITHOUT being married. You can break up & not have to deal with a quarter of the bullshit people (Divorcing) breaking off a marriage. Fuck being married 😂.
You sound like you are plotting divorce before marriage start lol
Kenneth Anderson 😂😂 lol dawg......
+Platinum Lewis Especially the financial crap. Why is it that it costs a fortune to have a wedding then if you get a divorce that costs too? SMh Who has time and money for that? Its ridiculous. Then if there are children involved it makes it even more complicated.
Kim Honey For real. If you don't get married and break up, it's (Sort of) simple as shit. When you divorce, it draggs the shit for MONTHS!! lol
That ending through me off, the music and the other people even got surprise.
Amarie is right though. It really is just a piece of paper.
The big chick look mad af boi
+Hijodemaiz She ready to sit on a nigga , smh.
+FALUKYOURMOM the other girl could sit on my face tho
Hijodemaiz
