    Thanks for the video - Interesting to know how the machine is constructed

      Not a problem hoping this helps some people that are driven to make their own

    Exactly the video I have been looking for I am at the start or a similar building based on lazze’s. My Bead roller I have been planning to build for years but never got around to it till now. Thanks for the information

      @@Iconicmetalworks Do you have a part number or link to the swivel head nut?

    Like I have said before you are an awesome and talented craftsman.

    I really like your setup with the reverse. Always liked Lazze's machines just not in my budget price right now. I'd like a bigger one like you have one day but for now I have a small one with a window motor bolted to it.

      Hey whatever gets the job done this one is identical to Lazze’s and I built it for around $1500 and another $1000 in dies purchased from Lazze it’s a great design credit to him

    Love this. I've been wanting to build a Lazze style bead roller for yrs. I probably won't because of the machining needed but I still like to dream. Lol

    Great build on this bead roller, you have alot of talent. Question, can you adjust the speed by pressing down on the Clipper foot pedals or are the foot pedals just a on/off forward reverse? I know you can adjust the speed via the VHD. THANKS

    • @Iconicmetalworks
      @Iconicmetalworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No just on off forwards and reverse on the pedals

    I'm having a hard time finding 2" spur gears but have no problem finding 1.5 inch spur gears. Do you see any issues with 2 - 1.5's or 2-1inch spur gears together (as long as everything is lined up when fixing them together?

    • @Iconicmetalworks
      @Iconicmetalworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will not work with Lazze’s dies the gears need to be the same diameter as the dies so the run parallel And with the 2” gears gives you the correct spacing between the tubes for a 3/4” gap

    You could just use 2, 3/4” wide gears without a collar on the top shaft. That would give you full tooth engagement when you move the upper shaft in or out.

    • @Iconicmetalworks
      @Iconicmetalworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The collars are for the encapsulating of the bushing not the gears so the top shaft can move on the outside of the frame via handles but also stay true and inline

    Great video very informative! Can I ask please what drive gears you used please ( how many teeth, if I could ask if the gears had any part numbers on them, I have just started building my roller similar style and bough a pair of Gears but think they are to course pitch or not enough teeth
    Thanks in advance Dave

    What is the max thickness this machine will do in mild steel?

  • @wannabee3362
    @wannabee3362 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry I didn’t explain well enough. I don’t mean 2” diameter. I meant across the gear so when you adjust it and “slide” across the gear it will allow for more of a contact area like you explained.

    • @Iconicmetalworks
      @Iconicmetalworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok no 1.5 “ wide on the face should give you a 2” + over all travel from one side to the other

    How much do you think it cost you to build it? Minus your labor.

      $300 if you do all the machining your self for the lower anvil riser

      I’m sorry wrong video the bead roller about $3000 if you buy surplus motor ect and machine your self I paid my machinist $30 hr and I’m right around $2200
