I scraped the Lazze design and went with a Mittler brother look, which you told me I needed more support at the flex point. Got it all together and works great. Thanks for your bead roller videos. One question. Why do you need to machine the square tubing that holds the shafts? You mentioned shaving them down but why? Thanks Randy
Clearance issue with 1/4 wall thickness on the two internal sides of the tubing you end up with a 1/2 opening and when you mill them to 1/16 it opens the middle up between the two of them to 3/4 just in case you have a piece of material that has a small bend at one end it does not limit you from passing it through the machine
Trying to wrap my head around your gearing scenario. Does the gear diameter size (within reason) really matter? My thought is as long as both shaft gears are the same diameter, which turns both dies at the same rpm, will it not work fine? The only variable is you don't have 1:1 ratio between motor rpm and the dies. Or am I missing something? Nice looking roller by the way.
The only thing that matters is that your gears are the same diameter as the dies and that’s because the top shaft goes up and down so if one is smaller then the other the gears won’t mesh correctly and bind
I like this solution. I wonder what type/model number of the speed regulator used for driving the 3phase motor ? And how did the regulator connect to forward/reverse footpedal (was this supported with your regulator out of the box)? If you already have a powerful wormtype 1 phase AC motor, do you think thats possible to use? I'm a little conserned how such a motor will respond when switching forw. to reverse
It’s a inverter with a potentiometer it has to be a 3 phase motor The controller converts it to single faze and the control box switches the directions via signal not turning the voltage on and off

My rpm range is 0-17 rpm

I based this off of his and with no instruction from him ive used his and thats what i was aiming for
