Cole and Bi-Han both have the same marking. I think Scorpion is stalking Cole in order to find Sub-Zero. But from what we have seen of his character, I think he is too serious to be Johnny Cage. I am guessing they're either saving Cage for a surprise appearance in this movie, or for the next movie. I mean, it's Johnny Cage, you NEED Johnny Cage in an MK movie.
I was happy with Hiroyuki Sanada cast as Scorpion from day one. But this looks so damn good and R. Went to theatres in 1995 and it is still the best video game to movie. Now this is what we need for 2021!

Maybe they thought that it would repel American viewers if they have more than two lead actors of Asian descent. But given that his costume include a Chinese-style straw hat and Kanji on his clothing, and because his name is based on Raijin, which is the god of thunder in the Japanese mythology, I reckon that the game developers made him out to be Asian.

I feel like videogame movies keep getting the short end of the Hollywood stick, so seeing them actually give some love to one makes me happy. Only the original Mortal Kombat film (cheesy as it was) and Silent Hill got it right, imo. That's a long space in between good video game movies and we're due for another.

This actually looks good. I'm looking forward to it for sure. There's still a chance that the fights will have editing issues, but they look good from this trailer. Tadanobu Asano is the guy who plays Raiden; he's been in a bunch of good movies over the years. I hope he gets utilized more here than his other Hollywood appearances.
He gets so hyped for the Mortal Kombat remake he has to leave the room, then just a short while later out loud goes "I'm tired now." That's exactly like the reaction a kid would give. Three theories on Cole,
A- He becomes Johnny Cage by the end of the movie.
B- He gets possessed by Scorpions vengeful spirit and becomes Scorpion.
C- He is Sub-zero's younger brother who eventually takes on the name when the original sub zero dies.

This actually looks good. I'm looking forward to it for sure. There's still a chance that the fights will have editing issues, but they look good from this trailer. Tadanobu Asano is the guy who plays Raiden; he's been in a bunch of good movies over the years. I hope he gets utilized more here than his other Hollywood appearances.

He gets so hyped for the Mortal Kombat remake he has to leave the room, then just a short while later out loud goes "I'm tired now." That's exactly like the reaction a kid would give. Which means this movie is perfect. Because that's the reaction you WANT to have with a movie like this, right? I think so.

From what I heard, James Wan and Company were not gonna settle for anything other than an R Rating to be able to pull off what they needed to do for their version of Mortal Kombat, glad they did cause this looks so F'n amazing!
