They did Sub Zero really well. He always felt like the less interesting character for me, even if he had ice powers. Really shows how scary something like that can be if you use it right. I can imagine how scary Noob must be, lurking from the shadows or some other scary behavior.
Did you notice that bi han spoke both Chinese and Japanese when it came to his family , but when it was hanzo, he didn't care if he understood or not cause he knew he was going to kill him .
For people that say, "but he killed the family" . Its because he wanted information from the family. He doesn't care about Hanzo, as he wanted to kill him anyway and because its all about the battle and the battle speaks more than words.

There are words of the director of Mortal Kombat. "We didn’t want to just do the same movies again. Just as important, though, the movie’s creative team wanted to reflect how the game franchise has changed over the years. If you look at the way the games evolved, and the storylines within, it’s kind of moved away from that as well.” “We weren’t just recreating [the] original film, we weren’t recreating the first five years of its existence. We had to consider its entire history, coupled with the fact that when you have a tournament structure for a film, it really informs your structure, it becomes a very specific structural element within the script itself. And that then informs a rhythm within a film that we didn’t really feel like we wanted to be locked into. So if you look at both of those things, we needed to talk about it because it’s an essential part of what Mortal Kombat is, but we didn’t want to be locked into it.”
@@shahanahsan05 Which is ANOTHER reason why having him play Cole Young instead of a character he already played was pointless. We don't need a semi-relatable everyman character every time we make a live action video game movie. They did it with Mario, Sonic, Double Dragon, the original Mortal Kombat had Art Lean who was invented for THAT movie, too, and I bet Metal Gear The Movie is gonna have a mail man in it or some shit. If they aren't fans, they probably weren't at the theater to see the game movie anyway, so it's time to stop catering to the casuals and just deliver to the fullest already. Who CARES if it would get an NC-17?
Same people who like the original better are fools, this one had good casting, good fatalities and people are just butt hurt that they made a new character who wasn’t even that bad
Is this what I think it is. Omg I didn't think I would ever see this cuz, I'm not a patreon. Thank u thank u guys so much. Keep up the great work. Cheer's
@Miguel Messina I like this movie, but this Raiden isn't a good interpretation of him either. He's supposed to be the leading force behind the champions of Earthrealm and he spent his whole screen time either sitting down or acting like a downer asshole. A Raiden who starts off hopeless is no Raiden at all and that needs to be fixed In the next movie, along with giving Cole something actually INTERESTING to do. I've accepted he'll be getting squeezed into these movies like it or not so Cole needs work too. Or an offscreen death for replacement by either Scorpion or another actual character.
I've played the game a lot with friends and we'd try and copy the moves while yelling out the fatalities as kids do. Having watched tons of other really good movies, I understand that this is far from perfect and I acknowledge the criticisms but I personally still thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I can see that the people who worked on this movie have love for the source material and tried to deliver as many fan services as possible making us all giddy as we recognize the characters and their fatalities and cathcphrases. It's not thought-provoking or film-school-study-worthy but it's still entertaining and sometimes movies just need to be just that.
the vibe i got was that it was a big budget fan film. The fight sequences were great for the most part, some of the acting was just...fan flick level, like, theyre doing their best but you can tell they dont own the character thus the performances suffer, except for the guy who played Kano, he nailed it and the actors playing Scorpion and Sub Zero. Also, I know they needed some of the big name characters to sell the movie, but killing off characters like Goro and SZ wasnt necessary, they should've save Goro for the actual MK tournament. Although I get the feeling they will be coming back from the dead, so. It was a good start, with PLENTY of room for improvement.
The problem isn't that the trailer showed too much of the movie. The problem is the trailer SHOWED THE MOVIE. Everything we see happens almost in perfect order as shown in the trailer which is the sign of a studio rushing things. Same thing happened to Ninja Turtles 1990 (The Turtles appear in MK11). They released a rap song to promote that movie when it came out, and the song word for word spoils the entire movie in song. I think it was called Turtle Power or something.
@@gavinhurley1071 Actually, come to think of this now old comment, that wasn't the point. The point was the MK2021 trailer showed the movie's best scenes in order. I compared that to the 1990 Ninja Turtles having a promotional song that in order spoiled the whole movie before it came out.
Sadly this isn't Reptile but another zartanian What I love about it is that during some of the murals and stuff some other Mortal Kombat players had made a cameo in this and I'm surprise not a lot of people have noticed that.
Weird you mention Danny Rand and Lewis Tan. Lewis Tan was in Iron fist and was the drunk guy who had a fight with Danny Rand and I always remember thinking this drunk guy would be a much better iron fist. He acted the drunk part great and had much more personality than Danny Rand. Definitely worth looking back on that scene.
I think this movie really suffered from having such a small budget. They had to put so much into the SFX that they couldn't even afford many background extras. It really showed with Outworld. It's just a stage and a green screen with harsh lighting. I hope for the sequel they have at least $100MM and better writers.
That Hanzo Hasashi, and Bi Han, who would end up turning into Scorpion. and Sub Zero intro was awesome. One of my favorites in any movie genres. Also. I love that they made the a rater R movie. I mean, let's face it. Mortal Kombat Should never be PG JMHO.
The one thing I didn't like in this movie was the whole "prophecy" plotline. Without it and trying to tie Cole into Hasashi bloodline it would've been better. But besides that, I enjoyed this movie. My favorite moments were the Kung Lao's Fatality, the fights between Scorpion and Sub-Zero and pretty much every scene with Kano.
I'm curious cause I also enjoyed Scorpion's revenge but the tournament in that movie was underwhelming but had its purpose. I feel like time and budget are the real hindrances of this new movie but what we got was fantastic. I'd rather them have a bigger budget for the sequel and can really give us the tournament that we all want. Do you feel that they could've done the scorpion vs subzero feud and the tournament in this movie?
I feel like the people that are really hating on this movie cannot seem to take off the rose colored glasses of the 1995 original. Like some people have said that they hated Raiden in this movie and wished they got Christopher Lambert back. I loved him in the 95 one but that is NOT Raiden, he is playing some other character completely. Also people say that the Shaolin Monks were too wooden in their performances.......are you fucking serious? They’re Shaolin Monks! They’re supposed to be wooden and restrained. Plus this could be like the Fast and Furious franchise. It starts off with a mixed first installment then gets better.
I feel like people shouldn’t be saying this is that bad because it’s only part 1 it’s like an introduction to MK before the tournament I mean people just wanted Johnny cage and all other characters but it’s more than 1 movie 4 to be exact! Like be patient!
It was said by the director that this is not a tournament yet cause shang tsung wants to break the rules of the tournament the sequel will be a pretournament and the 3rd is the final one

"We're an hour in we better get to mortal kombat, the tournament must begin", about that....
If "kill your opponents and win by default" is good enough for Shang Tsung...
When you said I'm gonna call you daddy, not Sub-Zero, that was me when I saw this movie 🤣🤣
RIGHTTT
There are words of the director of Mortal Kombat. "We didn’t want to just do the same movies again. Just as important, though, the movie’s creative team wanted to reflect how the game franchise has changed over the years. If you look at the way the games evolved, and the storylines within, it’s kind of moved away from that as well.”
“We weren’t just recreating [the] original film, we weren’t recreating the first five years of its existence.
So far you’re the only ones that react to the offscreen waaah waaah 😂
I was drinking during that part, spat the whole shit out laughing 😂
That hitchhiking joke had me gone for a solid 4 minutes
The guy who played Cole Young in this also played a member of Deadpool's X-Force in Deadpool 2. I think he was Shatterstar.
Yah he was,he was also a voice actor for a character in mk9 or 10
@@shahanahsan05 Which is ANOTHER reason why having him play Cole Young instead of a character he already played was pointless.
I loved this movie so much. Cant wait for the sequels!
Me too
Me, as well
Same
Same people who like the original better are fools, this one had good casting, good fatalities and people are just butt hurt that they made a new character who wasn’t even that bad
@@johnleeka3282 calm down buddy
Flawless Victory 🔥
"I grew up in Chicago."
Scorpion: "What's a Chicago?"
The Chun Li joke right off the bat told me this reaction was gonna be lit LOLOLOL
Is this what I think it is. Omg I didn't think I would ever see this cuz, I'm not a patreon. Thank u thank u guys so much. Keep up the great work. Cheer's
Love your bit on Sub-Zero's name
It`s funny how some people want a 150 min movie to fulfill 15 years of video play.
Thank god reel rejects actually likes this and found out that im not the only one who likes this and wants a sequel to this
If a sequel is in fact in the works, it should be directed by Gareth Evans.
I think Hanzo not bringing the two water buckets is a reference. He died in the fight because he failed to use the element which brings life.
10:45 "I like Jax's arms!"
Yeah, he was kind of attached to them too.

I'll see myself out.
A lot of people still prefer Cristopher Lambert as Raiden ...Raiden in the video games didn't act like a clown and cracked jokes -.- lol
Movie was not perfect and was flawed but it was fun and amazing fights. Definitely an awesome foundation for the rest of the movies.
Thank you
1:28 I feel you my guy
I've played the game a lot with friends and we'd try and copy the moves while yelling out the fatalities as kids do. Having watched tons of other really good movies, I understand that this is far from perfect and I acknowledge the criticisms but I personally still thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I can see that the people who worked on this movie have love for the source material and tried to deliver as many fan services as possible making us all giddy as we recognize the characters and their fatalities and cathcphrases. It's not thought-provoking or film-school-study-worthy but it's still entertaining and sometimes movies just need to be just that.
Benjamin Wallfisch (probably misspelled that) did the music, including the Techno Syndrome cover at the end.
Pinpoint a scene where Scorpion spoke English more than once. I feel like "Get over here!!" was his only English line.
I loved this movie so much, I don’t care what people say about it. 9/10 for me
Ikr. I loved it. I'm a tru fan.
You got shitty taste
the vibe i got was that it was a big budget fan film.
I’ve been waiting for this for so long
I personally loved this movie, the next one will be much better for sure though!
I was hoping you guys would eventually do this! Was a great movie and I'm glad you guys thought the same.
The turtles were not in MK11
@@gavinhurley1071 That's my bad. I was thinking of an Injustice game.
@@gavinhurley1071 Actually, come to think of this now old comment, that wasn't the point. The point was the MK2021 trailer showed the movie's best scenes in order. I compared that to the 1990 Ninja Turtles having a promotional song that in order spoiled the whole movie before it came out.
Never click fast in a video before lol HAHAHAHAH
Love you guys
They better do a sequel with the tournament !!!!!!!!
Sadly this isn't Reptile but another zartanian
What I love about it is that during some of the murals and stuff some other Mortal Kombat players had made a cameo in this and I'm surprise not a lot of people have noticed that.
I hope they make a sequel to this movie.
Hahaha I loved all the Sub Zero jokes about clearing his name to everyone xD
poor Jax, he served six tours in the military and loses two limbs in a fight with an ice ninja
A fun setup movie. They just need to expand this world alot in #2 if they want a franchise.
Me waiting for a movie reaction from reel rejects..
john and greg: you will get your reaction when you fix this damm door
The one thing I didn't like in this movie was the whole "prophecy" plotline. Without it and trying to tie Cole into Hasashi bloodline it would've been better. But besides that, I enjoyed this movie. My favorite moments were the Kung Lao's Fatality, the fights between Scorpion and Sub-Zero and pretty much every scene with Kano.
OH IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!!
You guys fitted your entire reaction into 1 whole video instead of parts...this must be good
31:36 Kano Just got Gnomed
I'm curious cause I also enjoyed Scorpion's revenge but the tournament in that movie was underwhelming but had its purpose. I feel like time and budget are the real hindrances of this new movie but what we got was fantastic. I'd rather them have a bigger budget for the sequel and can really give us the tournament that we all want. Do you feel that they could've done the scorpion vs subzero feud and the tournament in this movie?
I was satisfied with this movie. It has its issues, but regardless I enjoyed it.
1 minute early babyyy 😤
*Sub-Zero appears on screen
"HE'S MISTER WHITE CHRISTMAS, HE'S MISTER SNOW! HE'S MIST--"
“-STER ICICLE HES MISTER °10 BELOW”
Your reactions are sooo entertaining!😅
I feel like people shouldn’t be saying this is that bad because it’s only part 1 it’s like an introduction to MK before the tournament I mean people just wanted Johnny cage and all other characters but it’s more than 1 movie 4 to be exact! Like be patient!
At first I thought Cole's daughter was his little sister 😂💀
Me too. I didn't get the dad vibe from him🤣
Ayyy back with the reaction!
YES FINALY IVE BEEN WATING FOR DAYS NOW
It was said by the director that this is not a tournament yet cause shang tsung wants to break the rules of the tournament the sequel will be a pretournament and the 3rd is the final one
The reason why it’s gardening tools is because people weren’t allowed to have weapons so the ninjas used the tools as weapons
This is too good to be true!! I was gonna go to the bar for a beer but I'm gonna stay home in watch this instead.
Cole's arcana is LITERALLY plot armor....
I saw this in theaters and it was worth it!!!!!!
Polite Scorpion: "Could you please change your current location? I would prefer it if you would kindly stand here next to me. Thank you."
