    Hi Tobias, Thanks for all your videos. I teach children this sport and appreciate your at home practice ideas very much. No one can learn the sport on a single day per week so its nice to have homework. Its also nice to have the advanced skills so we have goals and a foundation for deceptions.

    Hi.. Tobias..The shots the young boys playing in adjacent court have a different sound.. Kinda metallic and attractive.... But mine is quite dull and hollow.... Has it got to do with the timing and sweet spot.. If so any tips to time the shuttle to hit the sweet spot all the time

    • @tobiaswadenka8435
      @tobiaswadenka8435  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sound has a lot to do with the string tension. Higher tension gives you a higher and clearer sound if you hit with the sweet spot. But keep in mind that the sweet spot gets smaller with higher tension, so it can also cause more misshits and uncontrolled shots

    Hey Tobias, thanks for your videos, I think they are absolutely great!!:) One question for you: during the last exercise with the backhand power shot, does the outside of your palm at the bottom also rub a lot against the grip when hitting fast and repeatedly?

    • @tobiaswadenka8435
      @tobiaswadenka8435  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Maxime! Thanks four your comment! It is not rubbing too much, maybe you can try to relax the fingers a little bit more in between the shots. That is also the hardest part when you do it with full speed but maybe that can solve the problem

  • @nihalsameer6417
    @nihalsameer6417 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks a lot, Tobias for making all these videos, it's really helpful. I have a doubt, many people when they do the forehand clear or smash, they tend to twist the angle of the racquet a bit which leads to slicing the shuttle (which means low power and the shuttle travels in the wrong direction) So are there any exercises to help keep the proper angle of the racquet for the forehand clear and smash bcz most of the times, this is frustrating when you can't get proper power into the clear (bcz of the wrong angle of the racquet). Do keep uploading videos. Thanks in advance.

    • @tobiaswadenka8435
      @tobiaswadenka8435  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What angle do you mean exactly? I know that some players change the grip just before impact or the have a loose wrist, that can cause such a problem.

    • @nihalsameer6417
      @nihalsameer6417 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tobiaswadenka8435 When the racquet hits the shuttle, it should be straight (for a forehand clear), if the racquet tilts slightly, then it will lead to slicing the shuttle. So are there any drills to keep the racquet head straight when coming in contact with the shuttle? Yes, I follow all the tips such as keeping a loose grip before the impact and not having a loose wrist, I just have to keep the racquet head straight on impact, so pls if you know any drills or anything that will help me, do let me know. Thanks.

    I always tell my players to learn the first drill. They always think it's pointless... but it helps so much with touch, especially for net drops. If you can caress the shuttle and catch it on your racket, you can caress the shuttle and drop it over the net.

    Hey Tobias, thanks for the trainings ! I have a problem which is probably common to several people here, especially if they come from tennis : I always slice my smashes a little, which causes a loss of power and a loss of precision. Any advice to correct this ?

    • @tobiaswadenka8435
      @tobiaswadenka8435  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say without seeing it. Do you slice it on the right oder left side? Probably on the right o guess (if you are right handed) maybe you turn your upper body and shoulders too much or your forearm and upperarm ar not rotating enough

      A simple idea: when you do strength training and when you use one sided exercises always start with the left side and try to always use the same weights/intervals for both sides. That should help already to work against imbalances

    • @tobiaswadenka8435
      @tobiaswadenka8435  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you developed a bad habit of turning the grip during the shot. Another reason could also be that your grip is too thin or too thick. Both extremes can make it hard to control the grip when you hit hard shots

    Its not necessary that a good soccer player can do good tricks with the ball.
    Of course he can learn quick but its not the other way round, if we only practice tricks then it doesn't make us good at the game.
    Its simple hand eye coordination.
    It doesn't give you game sense.
    P.s: I'm not dissing the video, just making clear to those who might think that these drills will automatically improve their game.

    • @tobiaswadenka8435
      @tobiaswadenka8435  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment, i think it is good if people are critical and you are making a good point here. Only practicing tricks like that will not make you a top player but in my experience it can help to get a better feeling for the grip, stay loose and relaxed before the shot and as you said it can give a better eye hand coordination. Things that can help us to adjust to different situations on court and play better quality shots
