For lots of Bass, lots of high notes, plenty of harmony - their version of Do You Hear What I Hear. Truly, honestly, really. Thank you Sir, as always for your reaction - enjoyed!
As a white person, I don’t care what color a performer is, if you got talent and sound good I’m going to listen to ya and appreciate that talent. I’m loving your channel and the fact that you are experiencing different talents from all people! This is how we open the door to love and understanding of all people!
Agreed. I've spent a lifetime in music and I think it's a field, like sports or the military (used to be) that is entirely performance based where NO ONE cares about anything other than whether you can perform and deliver.
Austin Brown, the first tenor grew up in Georgia and followed his father around the south doing gospel singing. In high school he won a state championship as an overall soloist. He won a full ride scholarship to Oklahoma City University where he majored in music and theatrical production. He just turned 36 but has a lot of experience, not to mention talent.
Great reaction. Do You Hear What I Hear is simply magnificent. It’s a “must listen”. Home Free always respects the classics by not over embellishing with to manny runs or trying to modernize them to much.
I tell ya, "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". Home Free with The Oak Ridge Boys and Jeffery East. Two groups, 40 years apart in age, plus a young up and coming singer in a LIVE performance. Each singer hits their spot on the harmonies without overlapping. Incredible precision AND power. Oh yeah, Austin has a few more years of experience in his voice too. He gets the solo. The reaction from the veteran Oaks is worth the price of admission alone.
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, has had training in several instruments as well as voice. He carries and places the percussion like a good drummer would. They usually will drop the beatboxing when they perform especially reverent songs.
I enjoy your reactions and perspectives and I've picked up a few things in your comments that lead me to recommend Home Free's cover of "Love Train." I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks again Van!!
Austin is the best high tenor i have ever heard.......such a pleasant, pure voice. No effort whatsoever !!!......and yeah, he did have a real baby face when he was younger. That's not a bad thing..LOL
I have to say, knowing these guys, they would love that you love them!. A nicer group of people you would never meet!. They are so skilled and talented. They bring joy to all of us!
Just subbed. Thanks for reacting to our guys Home Free! Super loyal fan base! We are here for them always! There are so many great HF videos. Try a fun Christmas one to see their fun personalities, Cold Hard Cash they did last Christmas. So many styles they do, just hop on the HF journey and we will be here with you! About Austin singing high 1st tenor, I'm a low alto and he can sing way higher than me. But I never had a very high range! Keep watching them and they all take turns on lead and all do it great! Very talented guys. Take care.
"Do You Hear What I Hear" arranged by the beatboxer Adam Rupp is absolutely incredible! It's never been a go to Christmas song for me, but their version is something else. It's different in the best possible way. Love your channel!!
This is my all-time favorite HF Christmas song! Thanks for this one! When they sing this live....it's breathtaking! You need to check out their videos for When A Man Loves A Woman and American Pie with Don McLean!
Believe it or not Tim sang tenor in high school. He has a 5 octave range. You've got to check out their live version of 9 t0 5 beatbox breakdown. It will blow your mind.
Austin Brown (the high tenor) attended college on a full music scholarship. An interviewer noted that he'd been singing with his father's gospel quartet at 6 or 7 years old. He'd been in a couple of other groups, sung at Disneyland and met Home Free while singing on a cruise ship. Like all the others, he's a professional singer with a lot of years of work behind him.
This is so beautiful. They can all sing. Tim (the bass) does have a 5 octave range so he can go high and go super low. Angels We Have Heard on High is sung in the same church. You might really like Do You Hear What I Hear. It’s arranged by their beatboxer Adam and is so amazing. Good reaction LFR! Would recommend Helplessly Hoping, One Man Band to hear more great harmonies. Enjoy!
I enjoyed the perfection of this Christmas song performance, but I also enjoy the imperfect sound of an old-fashioned church choir where people are doing "their own thing'.
What an awesome reaction fellas !!! You gotta hear the one they dropped yesterday...a collab with a great group, Texas Hill, and it might be one you know just a little....Go tell it on the mountain...and they bring a bit of Southern Gospel. They also did a collab last year with the Oak Ridge Boys for Christmas called, Beautiful Star of Bethlehem....you gotta hear those two !!
I come away from every one of your Home Free reactions with a Big smile on my face !!! Love your sense of humor and your big smile, I will be here for every HF reaction you do, following you on this journey will be so much fun !!!! They have some fabulous Christmas music, starting off with my favorite "Do You Hear What I hear" arranged by Adam Rupp their beat boxer or percussion person. And then "Full of Cheer " and "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer". There are many more great one too. Looking forward to more reactions. Forgot to add for fabulous harmony listen to one of their newwest one "Brother in Arms".
Voice Play are acapella and diverse. PTX too. Home Free just happen to be all white guys but they have a very diverse fan base. Not a Christmas song but please listen to Home Free's cover of Everybody Walkin This Land. And play til the end after the song ends for their message.
I just love your facial expressions. You made me smile watching you. And thank you so much for breaking down the different voices. I have no knowledge of that - I just love music. You give us info and joy at same time! Now pretty please with some sauce on top break down some Roy Orbison for me because he is my favorite singer of all time and I’d love for you to explain his use of voice. Big range.
Through this song I became aware of these talented guys. Home Free has the richest harmonies I've ever heard in a band. Each of the guys are phenomenal, but my favorite is Tim. Great reaction!
Respect to you for your blunt honesty about your personal feelings. We all have our feelings to get over, and cleaning up at home is how we solve this mess. You have a good heart.
Austin, the "first tenor" was raised around the Southern Gospel circuit, since his dad was in a SG quartet. SG is quartet oriented and is famous for its deep basses, high tenors, and everyone's ability to hold a note forever. Yes, he's had training, but some of Austin's licks definitely come from his roots.
If you close your eyes and just listen you'll soon find that nothing at all matters about the *outside* of the artist. Everything that matters at *all* comes from the *inside.*
This song is one of those songs that separates the pros from the amateurs, and we know which group Home Free belongs in. (And it’s awesome to see you representing the Montreal Expos!)
Music is the full rainbow of humanity - ethnics shouldn't matter. I love hearing new voices before seeing them just so whatever social preconceptions can't prejudice my reactions. That you've fought past that with honest appreciation in your reactions is awesome. Love hearing your thoughts about my favorite group, thanks Van!
White gal from Georgia, and I hit that "Thang" a few videos back! 😉 Tis the season, and all should be Merry, but, I would encourage you to listen to Home Free "Everybody Walking This Land". This is one example of who these guys are, and why we love them so much! ❤️ Thank you for your great, honest reactions! Keep striving to open doors, and have honest conversations! That, and prayer, is what will bring us together! I'll be watching!
TH-cam just sent this my way and man am I glad it did. I have gone back and watched all your Home Free reactions and subscribed. I love your energy. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free and be prepared for us Home Fries to bombard you with requests. Mine would be for you to check out Austin Brown’s solo song “Off the Grid”. You asked for more bass singers in one of the first reactions so here’s the other two parts of the holy bass trinity. Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix) and Geoff Castellucci (a member of VoicePlay). Both have solo music as well. All worth checking out. Thanks for the reactions and keep them coming.
As someone who grew up in the 1960’s and ‘70’s, I have loved all types of music, and many artists. Between the music that my parents had playing in the house to what I was exposed to on the radio, no one looked at color. It was pure talent and whatever moved you that attracted you to the artists. I have loved Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Temptations, etc, as well as Eric Clapton, Allman Brothers, The Band, etc. Talent and craft is all that matters.
If you want to hear a glorious example of a fantastic soprano, check out Voctave, an a capella choir. Their best (in my opinion) song is "Mary Did You Know" featuring Mark Lowry, the man who wrote the lyrics of the song. Voctave's high soprano is Kate Lott and she's amazing.
I don’t know if you have heard it yet but the tenor, Austin Brown, sings Unchained Melody like I have never heard sung before in my life. Absolutely perfect. On TH-cam it’s entitled “Unchained Melody sung like you’ve never heard”. It is definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already. Props to your amazing channel. I can’t stop watching it because you crack me up and you have amazing content. Keep it up.
Always love your reactions ... when you react as you do to, for instance, Austin hitting that ridiculously high note, you just validate my feelings about it. And it's obvious you have some musical training. This was just a beautiful performance of a beautiful song. If this song doesn't give you chills here and there, you must be dead!
Well, our Home Free guys are not racial against anything or anyone. They're just doing what they love & they're doing it very well. 😍 Check out "undivided" & "everybody walking this land". & listen to the message after the video. This is one of many favorites of their Christmas songs. Their newest is "go tell it on the mountain", a collab with Texas Hill....its incredible! 🥰🥰
be warned! the bass has a 5-octave range and has 1) bblown out speakers in concerts; 2) substituted for the high tenor singer when that man has been sick during concert. he's massively talented and blessed. name of Tim Foust
Do You Hear What I Hear is off the map. If the music is good, I could care less what color the singers are. The bass singer has a five octave range 😃 Helplessly Hoping by them shows their harmonies too. But a really amazing one is them singing with Kenny Rogers Children Go Where I Send Thee. 🔥
I am thrilled to see you enjoy the magical world of Home Free. They are, as I've said before, simply amazing.
For lots of Bass, lots of high notes, plenty of harmony - their version of Do You Hear What I Hear. Truly, honestly, really.
Thank you Sir, as always for your reaction - enjoyed!
Yes this song is definitely a master piece arranged by Adam Rupp!
Yes! Tim(bass) goes subharmonic in it.
One of my favorite Christmas songs and they do it justice!!!! And Austin’s voice is a gift from God!!!!!!!
angels can do anything- these angels can make music just with their souls
If Home Free has done ANYTHING that wasn’t just absolutely amazing I’ve yet to hear it. Everything that I’ve heard from them has been incredible.
I never heard of Home Free until tonight (Christmas Night). They're amazing! Thanks for this video!
Tim (the bass) has a very versatile vocal range. He is extremely talented and gifted!!! #ALLABOUTTHATBASS
React to " Do You Hear What I Hear?" It's pure genius and will blow your mind.
When this song first came out I damn near jumped off the couch for joy. How Great Thou Art is even better. They are crazy amazing.
Austin has the voice of an Angel... They all have amazingly beautiful voices and they are all super talented! #HomeFree #HOMEFRY
They are so natural and so talented. Just wonderful.
Those boys got voices like angels!!
Yes my new favorite Christmas song
I love "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" !!! Great suggestion.
It's absolutely beautiful!
100% agree, a truly beautiful song 🥰🥰
They are fire!!
Another great reaction. Their rendition of How Great Thou Art will give you goose bumps.
Wouldn't the world be a better place if everyone heard this. This is beautiful. This is probably what the angels flying around sound like
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, has had training in several instruments as well as voice. He carries and places the percussion like a good drummer would. They usually will drop the beatboxing when they perform especially reverent songs.
You make me laugh so hard !! When you were talking bout the old church ladies singing whatever the heck they wanna do I about fell out.
Do you Hear what I Hear, is Amazing!! Mary did You Know, Full of Cheer. Pick one but listen to all. They're are AWESOME!! Great reaction!
I love this so much. Austin is angelic.
This is my favorite Christmas song. These guys just knocked it out of the park as usual. Wonderful choice🌺✌️
I enjoy your reactions and perspectives and I've picked up a few things in your comments that lead me to recommend Home Free's cover of "Love Train." I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks again Van!!
love this song. yes Adam has a beautiful tenor voice along with his beat boxing skills.
Austin is the best high tenor i have ever heard.......such a pleasant, pure voice. No effort whatsoever !!!......and yeah, he did have a real baby face when he was younger. That's not a bad thing..LOL
Yet again perfection from Home Free . Thanks Van yet again you've managed to make my day better .
I so like your reactions. You express enthusiasm and respect that adds to my enjoyment. I feel like you’re enjoying them with me 😄✌️
"didnt know the bass could sing like that" ..
Tim Foust: Hold my "MayDay"
Or My Maria
I have to say, knowing these guys, they would love that you love them!. A nicer group of people you would never meet!. They are so skilled and talented. They bring joy to all of us!

Austin can reach a D6. You really should listen to their cover of When a Man Loves a Woman.
Damn, I am a baritone and can’t reach either of Tim’s limits. A capella is a perfect choice for Christmas music.
"Do You Hear What I Hear" arranged by the beatboxer Adam Rupp is absolutely incredible! It's never been a go to Christmas song for me, but their version is something else. It's different in the best possible way. Love your channel!!

This is a fav of mine. I could listen to it everyday.
Believe it or not Tim sang tenor in high school. He has a 5 octave range. You've got to check out their live version of 9 t0 5 beatbox breakdown. It will blow your mind.
Yes! Absolutely! So so great!
WHY DID THEY WASTE HIM AT TENOR 😂😂😂
Like he’s good but a bass of that caliber does not fall out of the sky very often
@@PizzaHutCEO because when younger he was a tenor and as he matured he grew into his bass voice and vocals ! Now he has a solid 5 octave vocal range
@@vickihandel3620 that’s very fair 😂
Please check out their version of “Mayday”
That’s the way they are, they sing 🎤 as if it’s just another day
I was going to suggest that too until I saw your comment. That's AMAZING
They can all sing and can all beatbox, to some degree. Austin is a phenomenal tenor and had classical training.
Home Free amazes me every time they sing
It’s so nice to be part of this family guys…nice reaction!
Another two with Amazing Harmony…”HELPLESSLY HOPING” &..”AULD ANGUE SIGNE” Pure a cappella….no beat boxing….so Beautiful 🥰🔥‼️
This is so beautiful. They can all sing. Tim (the bass) does have a 5 octave range so he can go high and go super low. Angels We Have Heard on High is sung in the same church. I enjoyed the perfection of this Christmas song performance, but I also enjoy the imperfect sound of an old-fashioned church choir where people are doing "their own thing'.
Becky, I think that's called 'joyful noise'... my church does that well.
What an awesome reaction fellas !!! They also did a collab last year with the Oak Ridge Boys for Christmas called, Beautiful Star of Bethlehem....you gotta hear those two !!
everyooooone loves harmony, is the sound of God in our hearts, youknow this.

Fantastic!
my favorite version of my absolute favorite Christmas song. I cry every time
Do You Hear What I Hear, their arrangement by the beatboxer, is a must reaction.
I love these guys
So beautiful, chills
YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love love love Home Free! Thank you for reacting to them! ❤️

This song is one of those songs that separates the pros from the amateurs, and we know which group Home Free belongs in.
(And it’s awesome to see you representing the Montreal Expos!)
This was how I discovered Home Free several years ago. They are legit the best harmonies out there.
They are always amazing me and I can’t really understand why because they have never not amazed me!
Tim has a 5 octave range. He was initially trained as a tenor
1st soprano here. I like how you explain the voice ranges to people who never studied music.
Adam Rupp became the beatboxer when no one else in the group would do it. All self taught, but he has a beautiful tenor voice.
White gal from Georgia, and I hit that "Thang" a few videos back! 😉 Tis the season, and all should be Merry, but, I would encourage you to listen to Home Free "Everybody Walking This Land". I loved your reaction ....yall make me laugh. They all have killer voices . another great xmas song they do is Do you hear what I hear.
These guys are Ahhhhmazing!

Wait until you get to "Do You Hear What I Hear!" Your mind will be blown!!!
Best group since The Oak Ridge Boys and Alabama!!!
Love the content. Throwing a couple Home Free requests out.
Butts Remix
Mayday ( Tim and Chance will blow your mind )
Cheers.

Loved this reaction 😊
Beautiful!
They are absolutely amazing. If you haven't reacted to their rendition of Do you Hear What I Hear, you gotta🙂
If you watch them sing "Mayday" Tim "the Bass" will shock you!
Well, our Home Free guys are not racial against anything or anyone.
They're just doing what they love & they're doing it very well. 😍
Check out "undivided" & "everybody walking this land". & listen to the message after the video.
This is one of many favorites of their Christmas songs. Their newest is "go tell it on the mountain", a collab with Texas Hill....its incredible! 🥰🥰
Since the year is ending, you really gotta do a reaction to their Auld Lang Syne
I love this group and they are the whole package...they are also funny. Check out Butts Remix and their Country Fried Pop Medley.
The other Christmas song you need to check out that Tim wrote is "full of cheer"
You should listen to “Do you hear what I hear” arranged by Adam Rupp the beatboxer - and a beautiful video too
be warned! the bass has a 5-octave range and has 1) bblown out speakers in concerts; 2) substituted for the high tenor singer when that man has been sick during concert. he's massively talented and blessed. name of Tim Foust
I couldn’t care less what color the artist is. If they sound good, they sound good.👍
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for another great reaction!💖

Take a peep at Voice Play. They have black and white harmonics. Home Free is my favorite, Voice Play is a close second.
I came back for another watch, not many people notice or comment on Chris holding down the bass while Tim is singing, Chris has a nice bass voice.
