This song can play on repeat and I would cry every time. It’s so moving to me. Not only the lyrics, but the reverence they give and how they seem to believe what their singing.
Names in order of appearance: SCOTT - baritone (tall blonde guy) AVI - bass (beard and beanie; left group and replaced with MATT) KIRSTIE - soprano MITCH - counter tenor (the guy wearing the sweater that you kept mentioning) KEVIN - beatboxer, cello player, singer, all-around musical genius
Every time I hear Kirstie, Mitch, and Scott harmonizing perfection together, I can't help but think how proud their high school chorus teacher HAS TO BE that three of her students are still singing perfection together to this day.
That teacher MUST be proud, I agree! Not to mention that they made it SO BIG in the industry! At least three Grammys for the group so far (unless they won something I have not heard about yet). :)
This version of Mary Do You Know fills me with Wonder and Joy every time I hear it. The incredible human and Divine blend of being the mother of Jesus, feels so real. And so enjoyed watching you watch the video. You have an incredible smile. Thanks
Mitch is a counter tenor. He does take his singing seriously, however, there are times when he is laid back and smiling. Any way he sings is otherworldly. Angelic!🙏🥰
The counter tenor is Mitch Grassi. He has an extraordinary voice. Even the other group members say he is the best singer bc he has amazing control, breathe support, and is nearly pitch perfect (Kevin, the beat boxer does have perfect pitch). If you want to see what Mitch is capable of, check out their new release of ‘The Prayer’. I mean…. He sang Celine Dion’s part…. But he does have a beautiful lower range as well. And check out Can’t Hold Us to see them do something wayyyyyyy different. 😄
From the beginning of the Bible to the end: JESUS IS THE ETERNAL GOD, WORTHY OF ALL WORSHIP, TO THE GLORY OF THE FATHER! PRAISE YAHWEH THE FATHER! PRAISE YAHWEH THE SON! PRAISE YAHWEH THE HOLY SPIRIT!
I believe this was Kevins first solo. He never felt comfortable enough until the others helped him. Loved this review as usual. Much love from Great Grandma in WA. State. Mitch is the high voice and love when people get Mich slapped.
A lot of them have a musical theater background since childhood so Mitch's non-expression here is a reflection of the seriousness of the song. You'll see them change their deliveries based on song meaning.
My favorite Christmas song...this one! I am a vocalist and this is the first song I bring out for Christmas. If I am limited on the amount of Christmas songs I can sing...this is the song I sing.
Mitch is the one with the angelic voice. This brings me to the verge of tears EVERY time I hear it. This group was perfectly curated. Don't get me wrong I love what Matt is doing with them these days, but I really dig me some Avi Kaplan.
The location of this video was chosen for its natural reverb. Extra, extra special. This and Disturbeds Sound of Silence are my 2 all time favorites because of the intense feels.
Mitch is a very rare contratenor. They all have amazing ranges. Matt who replaced Avi also has great range. Kevin beatboxer plays multiple musical instruments, speaks several languages, preformed in Carnegie hall, I believe, before the age of 14 and graduated from Yale in premed.
Oh me too. Adding Pentatonix for Christmas. I first heard of Pentatonix when I was babysitting my 2 year old grandson and I asked my daughter what do I do to calm him down to go to sleep. She said he wants to see the Pentatonix video Halleluiah, So I gave him an ipad with the video, he wanted to watch again and again but he did calm down. Been a Pentaholic ever since.
I have listened to many other people react to Pentatonix songs and they are so busy either rocking out with their eyes closed or talking over the best parts, but EVERY reaction YOU have done of theirs is SPOT ON!!!! You HEAR and totally APPRECIATE every little nuance of what they are doing and your reactions have actually brought me to tears! They are truly pure cosmic Ear Candy and you truly feel every bit of that heavenly sound. The bass in the knitted cap (Avi Kaplan) left the group in 2017 to pursue a solo career and has done extremely well and they brought in a new bass (Matt Sallee) who is amazing as well. Check out some of their newer videos to see and hear him, but I really do miss Avi's round, deep sound. You should listen to an older video which they did with Todrick Hall and is a reimagined version of the Wizard of Oz called "The Wizard of Ahhhs." Todrick Hall put together a medley of pop songs, rap songs, and bits of songs to fit the theme and they are all in costumes (which are fabulous) and play many different parts. But Kirstie really carries this video as she plays Dorothy, Glinda the good witch, AND the wicked witch. NOT TO BE MISSED! And yes - you have been officially MITCH-SLAPPED!!!
I heard it all at Christmas in my house growing up in the 60’s with Robert Goulet, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Bing Crosby, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, Leslie Uggams and more.
Gotta say, I absolutely loved your reactions to this video, and your smile says it all! This song really showcased the talent of Pentatonix and surprised me when the beat boxer sang and has such a pure voice!
This is the first video I watched of theirs, first time hearing them several years ago and have been hooked ever since! Love how well their voices blend but can stand alone as well! Thank you for your reaction!
This my 2nd favorite but it's close. The original composer singing it with voctave is my favorite version. Its beautiful but I tend to prefer to know the original intent behind the song so I love when the composer can sing it too.
I always loved this song (my mom and grandma were both "Mary"). Then I BECAME a mom and it gained a whole new meaning for me. Then I heard THIS version of it. Perfection. And I can almost never listen to this song without a tear coming to my eye. Ain't NOTHIN' wrong with Soul. It's beautiful music, and soul Christmas music...well, forgive the unintended pun, but it has SOUL. I like having some soul mixed into my Christmas mixes.
My soul reacts to this song every time they sing it.
The most beautiful song ever written .
Literally God's blessed them with voices of angels.
I'm gonna cry.... & I am not a crier
His face screaming he wants more.❤❤
I have no clue how that beat boxer guy can go from deep bassy thumps and whacks to such a pure singing voice. Man, how does he do that.
Listen to them sing Amazing Grace. You'll be blown away!
Ii love the "halo effect" of her standing in front of the cave opening ❣️
🙏🙏🙏 😇😇😇😇
His name is Mitch. Check Pentatonix cover of The Prayer.
This song can play on repeat and I would cry every time. It’s so moving to me. Not only the lyrics, but the reverence they give and how they seem to believe what their singing.
Favorite.... So Powerful...When you kiss you little baby, you kiss the face of God ... WOW
Sounds like angels singing. Love this so much!
I love how they each got their own time to shine even Kevin that usually doesn't
You've been "Mitch-slapped"! His voice is extraordinary. So happy to see you reacting to PTX.
exactly!
LOL Mitch slapped indeed~~~~
Imagine… and Amazing Grace. Both will make you cry.
Names in order of appearance:
SCOTT - baritone (tall blonde guy)
AVI - bass (beard and beanie; left group and replaced with MATT)
KIRSTIE - soprano
MITCH - counter tenor (the guy wearing the sweater that you kept mentioning)
KEVIN - beatboxer, cello player, singer, all-around musical genius
Kristy is the soprano
Mitch is a counter tenor
Scott will also cover the bass when the bass (Avi /Matt) take lead
@@tamaramcfarland8677 ah! I thought I had that wrong. Thanks!
No worries
@@tamaramcfarland8677 Kirstin not Kristy mezzzo-soprano
Her name auto corrected.
Every time I hear Kirstie, Mitch, and Scott harmonizing perfection together, I can't help but think how proud their high school chorus teacher HAS TO BE that three of her students are still singing perfection together to this day.

Right!
He and the bass, Avi, do that sound together. Kevin, the beatboxer, has a beautiful tenor voice.
This version of Mary Do You Know fills me with Wonder and Joy every time I hear it. The incredible human and Divine blend of being the mother of Jesus, feels so real. And so enjoyed watching you watch the video. You have an incredible smile. Thanks
They are what heaven sounds like. 😌🎵
This shows the power of humanity
Ugh...This song. Every time I hear it I get goosebumps and it makes me cry. Such a beautiful song.
Kevin is multi talented it's a gift listening to him
Mary Did You Know is possibly the greatest song about Christ ever written and this version by Pentatonix is masterful.
Agreed.
we all do what we know, what we grew up with. then the world reveals itself.
I still have goosebumps when I listen to this, no matter how many times.
It's OK to have your preferences; the important thing is not to be closed. Soul is soul.
Most talented artists i have ever had the pleasure to listen to
That's Mitch! He's Awesome!
I love how soft and sparkly your eyes got when Kevin came in at 4:38
Directly from heaven 🏆😍😍🤩💓❤️😘
There's no guessing that your ears were very happy...very happy indeed...🌿🌿🌿
This is my favorite. Such a beautiful truth. The joy in your face is priceless.
Little Drummer Boy by This group is amazing.
Listen to Amazing Grace
Pentatonix does Christmas better than any other group EVER!
Idk if you know but your eyes literally light up when you're listening to this. That's how it makes me feel on the inside
Mary, did you know was the first Pentatonix song I heard. Hallelujah was the second. That is when I became a Pentaholic!
We all gravitate to what’s familiar. It provides comfort and continuity. But new stuff is so exciting.
Mitch is a counter tenor. He does take his singing seriously, however, there are times when he is laid back and smiling. Any way he sings is otherworldly. Angelic!🙏🥰
There music touching your heart. So beautiful
Their harmonies are called their "wall of sound" by many reviewers
They are so good they can match their vibrato.
The counter tenor is Mitch Grassi. He has an extraordinary voice. JESUS IS THE ETERNAL GOD, WORTHY OF ALL WORSHIP, TO THE GLORY OF THE FATHER! PRAISE YAHWEH THE FATHER!
PRAISE YAHWEH THE SON!
PRAISE YAHWEH THE HOLY SPIRIT!
Mitch’s voice is ethereal.
They're amazing all of their songs hit you spiritual tears will drop down your cheek.
Absolute chills every time I hear these beautiful voices.
One of my favorite Pentatonix covers
They have lots of Christmas music you will love.
But you HAVE to listen to O Come All Ye Faithful!!!!!!
These guys definitely deserve to bake the cut to your family Christmas collection. Lots to choose from!
I believe this was Kevins first solo. He never felt comfortable enough until the others helped him. Loved this review as usual. Much love from Great Grandma in WA. State. Mitch is the high voice and love when people get Mich slapped.
Mitch has one of the best control of his ‘instrument’ (voice) of the group. The rest of them have all commented on it.
LOVE Pentatonix!! You will love anything they do
A lot of them have a musical theater background since childhood so Mitch's non-expression here is a reflection of the seriousness of the song. You'll see them change their deliveries based on song meaning.
Pentatonix are fabulous! And most importantly, the song is true!
Love to watch your reactions!
This song always gives me chills ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
One of the best things I've ever heard. Besides Dimash this is Unbelievable. Thank you Jesus for these talents.
High Voice is Mitch Grassi.
Base is Avi Kaplan
Beatboxer is Kevin Olusola
Blond guy is Scott Hoying
Girl is Kirsten Maldanado ( Kirsty)
So happy with your reactions. PTX with 3 Grammys and over 5 billion views show why they are so popular. I hope you do many more.
There is more truth in that song, than in creation itself! Love you bro, don't ever stop!
Also has anyone noticed that the cave gives off awesome sound acoustics and echoes and vibrations
The Prayer HAS to be next!! It is Christmas time and our Lord is the reason for it.. plz, you'll be amazed yet again!!
Pentatonix -The Prayer. ❤️❤️
My favorite Christmas song...this one! I am a vocalist and this is the first song I bring out for Christmas.
If I am limited on the amount of Christmas songs I can sing...this is the song I sing.
Breathtaking thank you for beinging them to my attention! Beautiful! ❤❤❤
LRF and pentatonic s are the best
Mitch is the one with the angelic voice. This brings me to the verge of tears EVERY time I hear it. This group was perfectly curated. Don't get me wrong I love what Matt is doing with them these days, but I really dig me some Avi Kaplan.
Some can either put Tears In Your Eyes and smiles on your face, Pentatonix can do both in the same song.
The location of this video was chosen for its natural reverb. Extra, extra special. This and Disturbeds Sound of Silence are my 2 all time favorites because of the intense feels.
Makes me cry everytime. Angel voices.
My favorite song by them.
My favorite cover of this song
So you want animated Mitch... Aha, Singapore Live ! The Star Vista , if you think you're ready to handle it 😎
Just to see someone for the first time appreciate & enjoy the song’s message & talent brings joy. 👍

Awww, thanks for sharing that with us.
You are so fun!! Aren't they just unbelievable, there is nothing like it on Earth!
"how is he able to sing...like a perfect tenor..." Lmao KEVIN IS A TENOR WITH PERFECT PITCH!!;
So glad you chose this amazing song..brings brings tears to my eyes
Love watching your reaction to Pentatonix..so real

I’m going to watch this over and over just to hear your reaction!
You make me laugh… and that smile lights my dark days. Thank you
Kevin is a king….and a musical genius
Absolutely love the words of this song!
Tied with Hallelujah for most beautiful song in the world for me.
Cave acoustics are very amazing for accapella!!
I heard it all at Christmas in my house growing up in the 60’s with Robert Goulet, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Bing Crosby, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, Leslie Uggams and more.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG!!! I will be back here OFTEN to listen again and again!!!
Your smile is everything!😊
It always comes from childhood.
This is my FAVORITE version of this song!!!
You really should check out The Prayer. Most beautiful rendition I've ever had the pleasure of hearing.
That is Mitch! When you hear Mitch sing the first you know you have been Mitch Slapped!
Love your lil rant when Kevin started singing. There's nothing he can't do...
They always give me chills...
They definitely do THAT
I LOVE your reaction and LOVE for music!!!!

You have to doOh Come All Ye Faithful by PTX. It will change your life and will join your soulful Christmas rotation.
