Worse, and much higher prices. Oregon is controlled by the state so everything is MSRP, although there's plenty of flippers there to compete with. Although I did get lucky and found a Stagg at Publix the other day for around $65.
For me New Riff Single Barrel, JD SB BP, Knob Creek 12, WT Rare Breed, WR DO, Bakers 7, HH BIB, Peerless Small Batch, Stranahans AM Single Malt finished in Sherry are some
Eagle Rare is one that I share with people who want to try whiskey other than Jack, Jim, etc. It is sweet and does not "burn". And agree with the 70th Anniversary!
I've got a bottle of Conviction Founders Reserve I haven't opened yet and I'm doing dry January. Oh well maybe next week, looking forward to it. Eagle Rare is a great go-to and I can find it pretty easily, enough to keep it on hand anyway. I like the OF single barrels too and they're getting pretty easy to find.
My go-to right now is knob creek 12 year now that my local spot always has it in stock for $49.99. It’s the perfect blend of age and proof for my taste and at $50 I don’t feel bad going back to it over and over
I like to make a shortlist of my fave bourbons in a few categories. Like wheated sippers, standard sippers, budget mixers, and budget sippers. Right now I have maybe 10 or so that are keepers across all categories. In the fairly available to always available categories. Honestly, high value always-available bourbons are tough to find in high sweetness, no bite, no bitterness, no burn flavor profile.
Which barrel house is your JDSBBP pick from? 8-11 & 13 are all Coy Hill if you didn't already know. Hard to beat that bottle regardless of where it was aged, IMHO.
Are you fast forwarding through the video? The bottles are fully shown in the b-roll for each one. Not sure what you’re referring to. I’m for sure open to suggestions I just don’t understand what you mean
The Evan Williams single barrel is good to you as of now, find a 2009. It's my favorite Evan Williams ever. I would love to have 100 bottles of that year.
Great list for me Knob Creek 12, Eagle Rare, Old Grandad 114, Buffalo Trace, Jack Sibs, Frey Ranch Sib, Still Austin Cask Strength & Driftless Glen 5 yr Bourbon all are my starters before I dive into my Sibs or LEs.
About the only ones of these we can get is the FRSB select and JDSBBP. We do not get store picks of the JD. I have a bottle of the FRSB select but have not opened it up but I have liked any of their products I have tried so far so my guess is I will like that. I see High West on the shelves but I think it is different than what you have. I only have 1 really go to bourbon right now and that is Woodford Reserve. I love OF1910, OF1920, FRSiB, and JDSBBP for higher quality and FR green label, and OF 86 or 100 for budget stuff. Being new to bourbon I have a lot of things I want to try before I really decide on go tos.
@@bradsbourbonreviews I don't think I am a beginner. I have been trying different ones for 3 or 4 years. Like you I don't drink every day and don't drink a lot when I do.
Love the JDSBBP, my favorite bourbon. The Russell 70 is amazing, found it for $42, cannot find a backup, shame on me. The only West I have is the double rye, amazing. I found a Yellowstone Hand picked single barrel, normally $59.99 for $29.99. It's hot, but I like hot, and it's tasty.
Nice choice’s! The new 4 Roses SB’s (red label) are nice! I picked up the OESO for 50.00 bucks last week and it’s a really nice pour. My Go To pours at the moment are more costly bottles but I like what I like:) Old Louisville CS maple finished Booker’s Reserves New Riff 8yr bourbon J D Heritage Rye Sagamore Manhattan finished Barrell ice wine finish Smokeye Hill BP J D BP select Cheers!
Heaven Hill, Russels 10, Still Austin CS Bourbon, JD SB BP, my current go to pours. looking for some of the ones you have, not currently available around here, keeping an eye out though, i did find Buffalo Trace at our Walmart before it sold out, i picked up my first bottle thankfully for 26$
I have 5 rebuys. 4 of 5 are made in Clermont or Louisville, Kentucky. More for winter is the 100 proof Early Times. More for summer the 90 proof Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey. Also the 100 proof Coopers' Craft and 100 proof Old Grand-Dad. From Owensboro, Kentucky the Green River Full Proof, especially if it is on sale for $40.
I like the video. My choices would be Eagle Rare, EH Taylor Small Batch, Redwood Empire Screaming Titan, Stagg Jr., Russell's Reserve 10, Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat, Old Forester 1920, New Riff 8 Year, Knob Creek 9, and Wild Turkey 70th Jimmy's bottle. Cheers
Great line up 👍, I mix ER with Benchmark full proof-alot better pour, Glad i found a backup of the WT 8yr 101, the only high west i have is the cask strength that is just so good. You can't beat the 4 roses small batch select for $49.99 and it's always available in michigan 😉 Cheers 🥃👍💯
Hey Brad, solid list you got there. Have you had Doc Swinson Sessions? If not, you should blind it with Eagle Rare. They taste almost identical to me. Might be a gr8 sub for someone who can't find ER 10. EHT smb is really good but if the BP Rye were more available, that would my go to. I'm drinking my smb to keep me from my only EHT bp b13.😅 I'm also a victim of the ER10 cycle. I went back to it recently and I had trouble putting it down. Cheers
Having moved to FL from the Pacific Northwest, the selections out here are vastly different than what we get out west.
In which direction? Better in FL or worse?
Worse, and much higher prices. Oregon is controlled by the state so everything is MSRP, although there's plenty of flippers there to compete with. Although I did get lucky and found a Stagg at Publix the other day for around $65.
Four roses small batch select is one of my favorite shelfers. I also like knob 9yr, Jack Daniel’s Bonded and Old Forester 1920.
All killer bottles
All great choices. The JDBiB really surprised me because I am not a JD #7 fan at all.
i just picked up the OBSF single barrel Four Roses, also a very nice pour
For me New Riff Single Barrel, JD SB BP, Knob Creek 12, WT Rare Breed, WR DO, Bakers 7, HH BIB, Peerless Small Batch, Stranahans AM Single Malt finished in Sherry are some
Great list!
Eagle Rare is one that I share with people who want to try whiskey other than Jack, Jim, etc. It is sweet and does not "burn". And agree with the 70th Anniversary!
Yeah Eagle Rare is SUPER approachable. And that 70th turkey SLLLLAPS
I've got a bottle of Conviction Founders Reserve I haven't opened yet and I'm doing dry January. Oh well maybe next week, looking forward to it. I said in a video once time KC12 is like the perfect representation of a solid bourbon
I like to make a shortlist of my fave bourbons in a few categories. Like wheated sippers, standard sippers, budget mixers, and budget sippers. 4🌹Sm Ba Select is good but at $65 here, it's a one and done. If I see it when in CA for $45-50 I might get one just to have.
That’s fair.
Which barrel house is your JDSBBP pick from? 8-11 & 13 are all Coy Hill if you didn't already know. Hard to beat that bottle regardless of where it was aged, IMHO.
3-01
Love the 70th. Thankfully I scooped a couple when they were sitting on shelves for awhile before disappearing.
I heard from a buddy they are still sitting on shelves at Walgreens in my area
Could you put something on the table to place the bottles on to raise them a bit?
Are you fast forwarding through the video?
The bottles are fully shown in the b-roll for each one.
Not sure what you’re referring to. I’m for sure open to suggestions I just don’t understand what you mean
yeah, it disturbs me that I can't see the bottles..............
The Evan Williams single barrel is good to you as of now, find a 2009. It's my favorite Evan Williams ever. I would love to have 100 bottles of that year.
I can do some digging 👀
It is very underrated and I have one store in the Greenville, SC area that keeps it in stock for about $35.
Whats the difference between that High West and their other "standard" bourbon? Can't find any info online
It’s their standard bourbon as far as I know
I love the WT 101 70th. I go to it the most often.
It’s legit good
Eight year Turkey is going to be a regular item starting this year. Loved the 70th. I have one I am drinking and one signed by Jimmy Russell.
I JUST saw that on the interview with mash and drum
Very very very excited about that
Very jealous yours is signed!
Solid list as well
Cheers!

Totally fair!
Go check my video out on beginner bourbons
I think it does a good job of recommending some beginner bottles
@@bradsbourbonreviews I don't think I am a beginner. I have been trying different ones for 3 or 4 years. Like you I don't drink every day and don't drink a lot when I do.

JDSBBP is legendary, I'm a massive JD fan
Nice choice’s! The new 4 Roses SB’s (red label) are nice! I picked up the OESO for 50.00 bucks last week and it’s a really nice pour.
My Go To pours at the moment are more costly bottles but I like what I like:)
Old Louisville CS maple finished
Booker’s Reserves
New Riff 8yr bourbon
J D Heritage Rye
Sagamore Manhattan finished
Barrell ice wine finish

SOLID list btw
Heaven Hill, Russels 10, Still Austin CS Bourbon, JD SB BP, my current go to pours. looking for some of the ones you have, not currently available around here, keeping an eye out though, i did find Buffalo Trace at our Walmart before it sold out, i picked up my first bottle thankfully for 26$
NICE! Good score dude!
I have 5 rebuys. 4 of 5 are made in Clermont or Louisville, Kentucky. More for winter is the 100 proof Early Times. More for summer the 90 proof Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey. Never had the Coopers Craft. I’m gonna have to grab that one
Solid list, Minus high west & conviction, never had them yet.
Get on those they are great
@ ok fine, if I must
Lol
Searched both northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin for the 70th. never saw one bottle.
Dang really!?
Well it came out yesterday that its becoming a permanent offering so, fingers crossed for ya!
Pretty much can’t get any of these except four roses
That sucks dude
I like the video. My choices would be Eagle Rare, EH Taylor Small Batch, Redwood Empire Screaming Titan, Stagg Jr., Russell's Reserve 10, Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat, Old Forester 1920, New Riff 8 Year, Knob Creek 9, and Wild Turkey 70th Jimmy's bottle. Cheers
This list is 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Coopers craft 100 WT rare breed rye George Dickle bourbon a local NDP River Roots Four Roses single barrel floor 4 and up. 🥃🥃🥃
I have not had River Roots or Coopers Craft
Nice list!
Shocked ---- absolutely SHOCKED only 1 bottle of Jack Daniels made the list! 😝
HAHAHAHA
Me too honestly
Where the hell are you at that E.H. Taylor isn't considered a yearly allocated bottle? That's crazy.
Orlando. Get it and the single barrel mostly once a month through Walmarts and Publix’s
ER mixed with FP…..interesting 🤔
Wow, you put a target on the back of that Conviction bottle, Brotha lol
Definitely going to try and hunt that bottle down
It’s so good. I CANT WAIT to do my barrel pick with them next month (March)
@ I’ll be in for that!
Very nice choices there.
Thanks buddy!
Heads up. The 8 year 101 is going to be a yearly release coming up. Straight from the horses mouth, too. So it's legit.
Yeah I saw that today!
This was filmed a few days ago, Christmas came early for me

I have not had it yet. Ill have to track it down.
The ER Cycle is frustrating lol
Green River Full Proof
💯💯💯💯
Yesterday....... Store had eagle rare priced at $99.99. I laughed in their face and walked out. Was that as rude as marking that up to $99.99?
Not at all
You’re 100 percent in the right
EHT is a unicorn in MN. You're lucky, mate.
I see it all over when I travel how hard it is
It’s wild to me
I’m very lucky
New Riff Single Barrel
I have yet to try any New Riff
I keep seeing people recommend that to me
Gonna have to do a deep dive
I need to do a deep dive on new riff
🎉🎉🎉
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
WT 101
one of the GOATS
For me Four Roses SB OESK, Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select and Russells Reserve SB store pick Camp Nelson F I got at a store here in Colorado😋🥃
Those are all great FOR SURE
Conviction double oak is garbage. It was super young and flat.
It’s a five year bourbon
Absolutely not garbage
@ I had a bottle in September and it was 2 years old according to the clerk at the ABC, and it tasted every bit of that
