I understood about 5% of that, but watched through because you explain things very clearly and one day I would like to be able to do this....lol one day
At 5:50, surely there's a better way to export the highpoly!? I keep a separate copy of the file before I finish my retopo and after; exporting each on their own. The disadvantage of this is that I can't rearrange my UVs between them.
Hello, nice tutorial, just wanted to say that the DPsubPix is not the level of subdiv you want to export : it is the quality of the map exported. By the way it seems to be really time consumming to use high values. So I suggest to use a DPsubPix at 1 since this setting seems to be negligible
Thanks for this video for VFX workflow. I would like to know if it is possible for me to make garment in MD, remesh it, simulate it with character animations (like running walking etc), and export remeshed garments with animation to blender for texturing and rendering? If this is possible please make a video about this! Thanks in advance and have a nice day
the order you ask for is incorrect but yes, you can. many people export marvelous designer into blender but remeshing will be last step in your process.
@@Marvelousdesigner Dear MD team, thank you very much for your reply. I am planning to make a short film with total 30 shots, only 1 character. I would like to make cloths in MD, remesh it in blender, material in SP, then make it as an quard base asset for all shots. I would like to simulate all cloths animation use this quard base asset in MD and bring back to blender for rendering. Would you kindly please advice a workflow for this please? becasue if not remesh the cloth that would be too dense and so heavy for blender to handle. Thank in advance and have a nice day!
please see our animation videos and other workflow videos in regard to this request. Marvelous Designer is tri based and not quad for accurate cloth sim so you will have to retopologize with the other tools (see the retopology videos) We cannot support into blender but I am sure there are wonderful tutorials that already exist for this workflow
I also wnat to know about marvelous retopology VFX to blender workflow tutorial, too

Nice tutorial, thx! But what about simulation? How I can simulate garment with that pipeline?

Anybody know the trick to select vertices along the edge 9:47 ? It loos like two vertices get selected first and the rest follow along from the edge.
ctrl and shift at the same time i guess.
Very useful and helpful, great tutorial !
