  • Well theres no going back. Got myself another #carproject in the form of a #1960s #morrisminor 2 door. Off the road for 12 years and in dire need of some tlc. In this video I go over my new purchase. What have I committed to!

Before doing anything, I would get underneath & check the front chassis legs & rear spring hangers . you might find it is more work than expected..

Check the rear hubs for lateral movement. (Backwards and forwards.)
You shouldn't have much movement there, if you have it may indicate that the rear hub is worn out.
I've not found any parts suppliers offering new hubs, only ones that have been checked as serviceable.
Also there is much sensible advice on the Morris Minor owners club forum. You can view the posts, however i'd advise any moggy owner to join the forum. It will cost you nothing. Cheers.👍

I've had three minors myself, back in the day. This one looks like an easy restoration, not much corrosion (cough) Minors are wonderful cars, you'll have it running in no time..😂
I bought one some years ago and when I lifted the carpet it had a rear floor pan made of old oil cans. I sold it on.

Good luck with the project. They always had SU electric fuel pumps. When I had mine I fitted a hidden switch as an anti-theft device, sometimes forgot I’d switched it off and then panicked when the car would splutter to a halt a few yards down the road !

Wow! I love that car already haha. Good luck with that project. I've always wanted a Minor myself one day. There so full of character. That car is definitely worth saving despite the rust but it should be good fun to get it roadworthy again!👍😎

Get it running and drive it. No MOT required. Or maybe you have a conscience ? A great find and looking forward to watching those repairs.

@@AllThingsAlex I think you will get through this. It looks a bit bleak, but the Morris Minor community is huge, and supportive. I think if you reach out to them they will help!
