I just got flashbacks of stressing out about bach two part inventions. I know it's very different, but that beautiful part where both your hands are playing different melodies that work so well together reminded me of it. This is so perfect in every way. As always, such a huge fan of your work!

I shall name this piece 'Fields Of Joy' - this is a masterpiece! I could never have imagined this amalgamation. I presume this may be a more difficult piece to play as the melodies are being played simultaneously, however you have merged these melodies effortlessly; a testament to your talents! I think we ought to name this phenomenon the 'Hankinson Effect' - Thanks for continuing to bring such music to TH-cam!
thank you so much! Your comments always make me smile :-) I love "Fields of Joy" - thanks for coming up with that. And the 'Hankinson Effect' .. so funny - I hope my melody merging doesn't melt ice caps or burn holes in the ozone layer. Actually that moment when the left hand takes the melody is not tooooo difficult as the right hand 'ode to joy' melody is super simple.. allowing Lefty to focus.. his big moment.. his chance to shine :-) .. I really love finding ways to interweave these pieces.. glad that you appreciate what I'm doing .. this combination actually came to me on the cross trainer at the gym.. Maybe I should get on that thing more often!

Your music draws memories of a long gone summer of mine.
Sun sets over the prairie, gentle august breeze caressing my bare skin, I stand there, at the deep end of nowhere exactly, in between my thoughts and the numbing comfort of loneliness, my eyes and ears witnessing the spectacular concert of Mother Nature’s symphonies of colors and summer noises.
I am here, feet sore from a long walk, enjoying the peacefulness of a surreal journey from dawn to dusk, from day to night, from light to darkness. The skies are burning like a million candles, and as I look up, I become dreamy, as if the clouds were lulling me to sleep.
My heart smiles at those memories. They are a soothing, faraway echo of the rare meditative moments I had as a young person.

I love the way you write and hope that you write often and that people get the chance to discover and experience your work. Have you read "Knoxville Summer of 1915" by James Agee? I think you would enjoy it. Samuel Barber also turned it into a piece for soprano and orchestra.. *if* you listen to that.. please listen to Sylvia McNair singing it.. she's stunning.. there are some pretty terrible versions out there :-) .. but the text itself can bring tears to my eyes.. Anyway.. wish you a wonderful day.. including a hopefully no longer so rare meditative moment :-)

this is such an excellent example of counterpoint that I intend to use it as an example for teaching. The only problem I see with this is that I expected one last strong capitulation of he verse section of Fields of Gold.
Ingeniously arranged and performed Paul. I'm compelled to comment even though the subject was covered in earlier comments. The parts where the two melodies are played simultaneously meld wonderfully and I'm really awed by your hand Independence. Or should I say brain independence. I'm not sure if the average listener knows how difficult it is being in two places at once, but I can sure appreciate the feat. I loved this one.

@@PaulHankinsonMusic I'm happy you liked the clouds video, as I'm seeking to improve my film making skills. I use music in the TH-cam Audio Library for many of my videos and this song "Serenity", composed and played by Aakash Gandhi was taken from that source. I agree that its lovely. I've since learned it, as well as his song "One Step Closer", which is a more minimal take on Yiruma's, "River Flows In You". But I'd really like to direct your attention to Wayne Jones' "Forever Yours", also in the library. I've been playing this one every time I sit down at the piano and still love it. I think you will as well.
