    Have you ever tried cutting thick foam (ex., 5 cm) with the X7? In theory, the thinner beam should allow it to cut through ticker materials without too much deviation.

    This is good for architectural model building, I think I am going to purchase this product, the majority of the cons, do not impact my ideas on what I need to accomplish, pretty impressed on several materials it can engrave or cut on.

    I've had my Atomstack X7 Pro for a 1 1/2 years and it's returned me double of what I paid for it without even marketing my business much. I have cut 3/4" plywood (which they advertise) and it's just not worth wearing out the laser head. I usually go as thick as 1/4" and glue layers together. My machine is still running strong and is well worth the money. I've etched glass. mirror. painted tile. rocks. plastic and of course wood with no problem. You just need to get used to the settings. Definitely a money maker and worth the investment. Now Atomstack is coming out with the first 70 watt laser. I was going to buy it as an upgrade but will wait as I'm sure they will come down in price. They demonstrate it can cut 1/2" this wood in one pass. These things are getting on par with CO2 lasers.
    The one thing I really like about a diode laser is the fact that the diode doesn't deplete if not used like the CO2 lasers do and they take less space.

      Can you elaborate on the plastic part? I just sold my X7 with intention of getting the X40. You are right about diodes improving. I was thinking CO2 until i seen the X40 capabilities relative to X7. I loved engraving but not cutting as much with the time required and it wouldn't always cut all the way through. What I like about the diode is that you can move and even hang on the wall if you want when not using.

      @@Renman19 My friend had a glasses case made of black plastic and I had to mask it then paint the area to etch. I etched at around a medium power and it looked great. I tried cutting soft plastic but it just melted it. I was successful at acrylic though. You just need to test power and speed levels with plastic. The Atomstack A70 (70 Watt) is only $2000. Sounds like a bit of money but it will cut up to 1/2" wood in one pass. Like I mentioned before I cut mostly 1/4" wood and it would be a great time saver. Saved time is money and saved wear and tear on the machine.

    Great video!! I just wonder if you could help me out with some dimensional info related to this machine:
    is it possible for you to tell me the exact dimensions of the laser head of this X7 Pro as well as the feet height and alu profile dimensions? (X,Y profiles) I ask because I am thinking of upgrading my machine and I had already developed an accessory which I would like to have adapted to the Atomstack x7 pro also, many thanks in advance

    Very nice video, I have the x7 pro.
    Yes adjustment for the laser leaves marks. Also have there b1 enclosure which I trying to fiqure out how to mount a camera in it. Cable managment could be better. Also the wifi part of needs a lot of work. All in all so far getting good results, would highly recommend an air assist. Atomstack claims the focus lens is non replaceable, have to replace the whole unit. This could be a big expensive downside if something happens to the lens. Jury still out if I made the right choice.

      Does the b1 enclosure allow for use of air assist still?

    The measuring point feature should not be a negative, you can set or observe your distance then raise the laser on the "Z" axis afterwards, it's a good feature. Also as mentioned by below this laser has a gyroscope feature and will auto shut off past 20 degrees of tilt, I have the Atomstack X7 and mine has these features.

      Hi Ted,
      we tested tilting ours and it didn't stop. Also, this was also confirmed by Atomstack. Are you sure you don't have the Atomstack X7 Pro instead?

      I know this is an old comment but that's apparently on the Pro version, not this one.

    Is there someone with issues with the "contour" tool of the machine? I use LaserGrbl and can't use that option, the laser model just moves sideways and it seems that even that isn't accuarate. Does anybody has the same problem?

    Desde mais muito bom trabalho. Sabes me dizer qual o tempo de entrega se fizer uma encomenda pela ATOMSTACK?

    • @ruiraptor
      @ruiraptor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Olá Claudio, depende de onde a máquina é comprada e enviada. Se for enviada de armazém europeu para um país europeu é diferente de vir de um armazém asiatico. Veja no website se é disponibilizada essa informação.
