The actual name of the place is Gauri Marg which was changed during Chuck dynasty to Gulmarg to eradicate the original identity of the region. Gladly the name Kashmir has remained unchanged since 5000 years. It was named after Rishi Kashyap Mir. Srinagar is my hometown. Hi! from an aboriginal Kashmiri.

I visited Gulmarg in 2015 in the month of June. It was lush green all around in Gulmarg where all hotels are based. But when you go up by galdola at phase 2, it is capped snow all over. Infact due to low oxygen level at such altitude, I had breathing problem there.
But Gulmarg is worth visiting place.

Surprising they don't have " Tubbing" there?! Or was it not covered by the Bloggers? It reminds me of trip to Swiss Alps where all sorts of tourists get to enjoy the slopes. A good snow boots and winter jackets and cover should be good to go. I didn't feel any cold or uncomfy on chair cars though it's really scarry to get in and out. The facility shown r world class except the " Rentals shop" shown is smaller. Hope to visit this one too some day.

Hum January 2012 Gulmarg, sonmarg, pehalgaon, srinagar dull lake sab jagaa snow fall. Itni ziada bheed thi ki number aane mei bahut wait karni padti thee. 10 din ke tour ko 13 din mei convert karna parhaa. Shikaare mei rahe. Sastaa tour hai...bahut ziada paisa bhi kharch nahi hota...15 kilo almond le aao to kiraaya nikal jaata hai...flight bhi aana jaana 6200 rupee ki thi. Facility bahut hai...achhaa khaana aur thand ke dress nominal kiraaye pe mil jaata hai...taxi 100 rupee safari thi....different dunia hai. Jannat hai
