lol, mine is even crazier. My dad named me JUNO in 1979, came to america working at pathmark when i was 16 as a cashier this lady noticed my name tag and started telling me about this Roland keyboard name Juno. a few weeks later My dad went to a garage sales and bought me a JUNO-106 which was my first keyboard. I sold it a couple years later to guitar center, biggest mistake I've ever made.
Ten Slider mines crazier I was also named Juno, I was given up for adoption as my mom was so inpirspired by the movie Juno, my step dad was a real muso, mainly guitars but had a Roland Juno-106 he took from the studio while working for Juno records in the UK, Im pissed to find out about this bass trick as ive just finished my gender reassignment surgery and have changed me name to Nord. FML
My husband and I have literally not been able to stop singing this beat ...so mad it's not on the Tuxedo II album but hopefully it's on the next go round lol..LOVED THIS ONE!
JESUS!!!...Pinch me. Two of my favorite artists about to kill a beat. Folks forever sleeping on Mayer Hawthorne. Dude not only sings but produces and djs.
an appreciation for gamble and huff and leroy burgess. nice! most rhythm roulette producers don't even know who they are. that logg record is boogie gold. a paradise garage classic.
I wasn’t sure what to expect since I was under the impression Mayer hawthorne didn’t use like samples, but this one completely blew me away. He took the drums, aesthetics, and any smaller sound bites that matched pitch (which he found by ear) and blended them all together for a funky result. What a trip.
Still got an autographed Mayer Hawthorne vinyl from just before he was popping! Nice to see him taking his craft up to production with a solid guy like Jake One. Keep it up!
You know you're good at what you do when you make something this good and make it look fucking easy. This was a fun watch; not only for the track, which was dope, but to see how easily you two worked in the lab stitching all the disparate parts together into a single, funky ass, cohesive whole.
I'VE HAD MY JUNO FOR 6 YEARS AND THE ENTIRE TIME I THOUGHT I HAD TO USE NO RELEASE ON MY BASS SO THE NOTES DIDN'T OVERLAP AND NOW I CAN FINALLY GET THAT BOOM I'M SO MAD BUT SO HAPPY
Tuxedo is keepin' the funk alive!
jaded incorporated too!
God Bless Mass Appeal. May Mass Appeal Live on.

their chemistry and combined skill is unbelievable
4:35 That smile you share with a friend when you about to create some fire 🔥
Anthony Contreras looks like not using the sample they're pointing out
So true :).
Can't say I was expecting this, but I was definitely the most excited about this episode when I saw the title.
I love how hilariously easy it is for them to build a beat from scratch using minimal samples... crazy
jake and mayer just styled all over 85% of all past RR's.
100%
Mayer Hawthorne is so incredibly talented, it makes me sad more people don't appreciate/know about his music. Proud to be a fan from the first album.
sold my juno yesterday and now i found out about that bass trick. God has a wicked sense of humor sometimes. smh
He is simply telling you to and go buy your Juno back.
lol, mine is even crazier. wow this was better than I could have imagined! Never seen so much care gone into a RL video and loved to see their production process.
I wasn’t sure what to expect since I was under the impression Mayer hawthorne didn’t use like samples, but this one completely blew me away.
