Aaron Neville is actually a legend. 4 Grammys to his name. Part of the, also legendary, Neville brothers. Lived in New Orleans, in 2005, he was in the news a lot as Hurricane Katrina (and the waves), drowned his house. He barely survived and promply organised a benefit for the victims. BTW, Linda Ronstadt produced the record, and she is just as legendary. Amongst her long list of accomplishments, are 11 (eleven) Grammys, 1 Emmy, and a nomination for a Tony and a Golden Globe. So you were in good hands. BTW, both are still alive.
Wow Thank You for sharing fam! I found it super ironic how his song spoke on what happened during Karina BEFORE it happened. That’s what caught me off guard when I was listening to it. Wow! Thank You!
The Neville bros & The Meters are indeed legendary, their music has been heavily sampled going back decades! Looks like Sarah hit the New Orleans section at the record store!
Daaang, I think I remember seeing this channel years back when you were under a K subs. Good to see you thriving… you’ve added a ton of stuff to your space since then.
@@metabear333 No offense to Sarah, but you do know this rhythm roulette is self made right? It has nothing to do with the mass appeal rhythm roulette series.
This is dope! I really appreciate the detail, and watching you analyze each record. Steve Miller Band was in my dad's top 10, for sure. This made my Christmas a bit brighter, this year. Thank you for that 🙏 🎄
@ I appreciate that, really. It still gets rough around the holidays, so these little moments mean everything. I gave that record to his best friend, about 10 years ago.
As a airbrush artist I feel this session the sitting around absorbing from the freestyle realms keep going never stop you have something beautiful!!!!!🎶🔥🎵🧡
Aaron Neville's brother Art Neville was in The Meters. The Meters were a funk band before the word funk was even a thing. The first and 2nd Meters album are must haves if you haven't already. ATCQ sampled The Hand Clapping Song.
Yea you should explore Aaron Neville more he is a national treasure and one the greatest vocalists ever (one of his songs "Hercules" is heavily sampled). His family band, the Neville brothers was also great and the adjacent band his brother Art was in, called the Meters, is one of the greatest NOLA bands of all time. You've heard them through samples but well worth a deep dive. Really sick drummer/bass and all the guys in that band. Great sampling job in this one. I like how you show up Timbo and use an ASR... These last couple episodes is how you do it.
Not an easy task, especially if you do not know any of the artists you picked and cannot know what to expect. But the creative process is fascinating to watch and the resulting beat is really layered and very good. Well explained. Job well done!
Hey. I can speak for myself. I actually did not pick the soul genre section. I picked a random section and picked 3 random records. The Steven Miller Band was not SOUL music. Thank You and have a great day!
I wasn’t familiar with your game, but I’m glad you came across that Aaron Neville. My grandma used to play his music. I knew it was gon have a slap or 2. 😊
Oh snap!!! That “close your eyes” was featured in an old school love song compilation album that the used to advertise on late night TV. “Hey ya’ll. I got a great album in the mail today!” “Close…your… eyes” Who’s old enough to remember this?
Rhythm Roulette? I'M GLAD YOU ALL ARE BACK!! I absolutely love this show but... if you all see this post, let the final product play out more. As the episode ends, it's not enough time y'all are allowing the beat to ride out. Y'all are cutting it too short. Unlike past episodes, the final cut rode out. Extend the beat longer as the episode comes to a close.
3:25 gurl, i still got mine too. it was my VERY first professional sampler!!! let’s see if you or any one else know what i’m speaking about. #ClassicGear 🫶🏾
