All these years later and you still remember exactly what you did on all of these classics. Not to mention still having the files. Super blessing for us to be able to witness. Thank you Jake 🙏🏽
Hey Jake! You're one of my favorites and in my opinion highly underrated. Hey bro I'm still rocking the E.P.S, any way to get a hold of some of those old factory sounds from ensoniq? i.e Bass, Piano, etc.
During the 'Beg For Mercy' era I was rocking the spinning G-Unit chain with the G-Unit Reeboks!!! Good times! lol respect. love this whole album. classic. dope beat
I'm gobsmacked at how simple this beat was and it STILL hits different today!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing a Classic JakeUno, I also agree about HiTek & the opening Song hahha that shit made me sit up and #begformercy 🤣🍻
hes a pro so when he makes the beat its precise, and he has it planned in his head before making it, most amateurs just experiment and stop when they land on a cool sound
Same here brother and I been doing it for over 30 years done worked with some of the biggest artists. I guess we have to keep it more simple. My problem would be not that I couldn’t re do the beat. I’ll hear it differently and make a whole new beat with the same elements. So this type of interview would be good for me. After the video I’m going back to listen to the Lp.lol
This is THE beat that made me Jake One fan. This beat was just so off-kilter and different from the rest of that 1st G-Unit album that it really stood out to me. I broke out the liner notes, peeped the name, and from then on I started looking for Jake's name in the liner notes. My homie Khrysis told me I was sleeping and needed to check for more Jake One. I did some homework, and the after Rock Co.Kane Flow dropped less than a year later, that pretty much sealed the deal. Thanks for breaking this beat down.
I definitely just re bought that album digitally in 2024. You're definitely one of those producers that are like oh snap he did that song too! Respect!
I remember watching French Inhale behind the beat. I couldn't figure out how you made the beat. I couldn't believe you made it on ASR. In 2011 that beat sounded like a high end production to me. Hands down.
Man I miss raw from scratch producers like this......that all l wanted to be when l was younger was a rap music producer....making beats on any keyboard l could get my hands on
This is amazing... Please keep this series going! Would also love to see you make some stuff from scratch. You're an inspiration man! Thanks for giving us this inside look 🙏
All these years later and you still remember exactly what you did on all of these classics. Not to mention still having the files. Super blessing for us to be able to witness. Thank you Jake 🙏🏽
It definitely takes me a minute sometimes to figure out what I originally did. That's the hardest part.
Right?? There’s beats I made last week that I couldn’t even begin to tell u what I did. 😭
@@adamjohnson5307 i couldnt recreate a beat i made yesterday LOL
@@snarejordan2804 I just found you through recommended. Happy to be here

I remember lugging that ASR from place to place! The good old days.
I remember this dropping when I was in middle school, and for whatever reason not thinking it was a sample. Also that Hi-tek intro is still crazy.
One my fav dudes to do it right here..Props!!
Really cool insight! More of these please!

Even though the ASR10 is early 90's technology it's still 16 bit 44k so it's gonna sound current no matter what.

I enjoy this series a lot, you can tell that jake put his soul in beatmaking by the way he still remembers that many details.
More classic beats you’ve made like this please!!! This so dope💪🏼💯💯💯

This was always one of my favourite beats off of the album!! This beat and eye for and eye were fucking crazzyyyyy!!
Jake that hi hat with the snare alone on that beat, in a class all by its self with the rest of the sound. Damn

I always thought Dre did this beat 😱
Jake one is the truth
Dre somehow forgets to credit other producers all the time, like jake and scott Storch
the first Dr dre type beat lol
I have the CD and vinyl that's why I liner notes were always vital you get to see who produced the record
Dre always gets credit for others work. In my opinion, Quik should be labeled the best West Coast producer.
