    My grandpa ate eggs every morning. Along with bacon !
    He also went fishing any chance he got and ate fish 3-4 times a week. But, he ate ZERO sugar. Seriously, no desserts, no snacking between meals. Just meat and veggies. He lived to be 91… never had gone to see a Dr until he developed pneumonia after he had been snowblowing his walkways and his neighbors and it was below zero temps. But my mom had an autopsy done because she was convinced all that bacon and eggs clogged his arteries. Nope. The report came back that his heart looked like a healthy 40 year old man ! 😮👍🏻😊

      That's awesome but one can still be healthy with small amounts of sugar in their diet as long as they regularly exercise. And there are certain people out there who aren't affected by sugar at all such as Warren Buffett. That guy eats nothing but sugary foods and is still going strong at the age of 93.

    I have been eating Keto for five years. I had adrenal fatigue, and it disappeared in the first month. I eat 2-3 eggs, large salad with olive/avocado oil a day. I switch up on the protein with fish, and make my own desserts with stevia sugar (brown, white, or confectioners),that is almost exact to sugar. Keto ice cream is available, but to make your own from heavy cream, and stevia drops, unsweetened cocoa, unsweetened coconut, etc..once used to this, you definitely do not miss the artificially flavored candy, cookies, cakes, etc..there is a keto replacement for EVERYTHING, except French fries. 😊. I do eat sweet potato French fries once in a while, and once in full KETOSIS; burning your own body fat, you can eat off track once in a while.

    This list is what I'm eating now...I used to eat a ton of junk food and sugar was my obsession until the Dr. told me I was heading for diabetes. In 2015-present day I have changed my eating. It was a gradual thing. In this inflation eating healthy can be so expensive on a working family. Blessings to everyone trying to make ends meet.

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Absolutely it's crazy what's going on now. I am a huge fan things like intermittent fasting because the diet actually saves you money eating out and lunches. Small stores like Aldi and things like lettuce, celery, chicken are usually some of the lower cost alternatives as well to more expensive premium foods.

      On the contrary, some foods like the cereals and breads may be cheap food but they cost your health! They leave you hungry if only eat that so you wind up eating more and more high fat and calories in addition - to say nothing of HIGH carb oranges/fruit juices…
      Plus most good simple carbs are as expensive as all F!! One product can be $4 and more - and people buy more than one with name brand (most addictive!) sodas in addition, if only over the course of the day. You can get an entire Chinese Food meal for what you spend on one or two simple carb “foods” - AND they leave you hungry!!

    Very good video good advice. I'm type 2 and struggling to eat healthy sigh sugar readings at labs done this week 9.4 so more insulin added to my plan which I don't want. So definitely trying to learn more and eat better. I do eat eggs for breakfast ( boiled). These videos will help keep me motivated to stay on track. And will be planting healthy veggies for the garden this year Kale, Spinach, Beets which I hate but will add them in smoothies to disguise the taste. I can do this. Anna In Ohio

      Save yourself, Because if you don’t nobody will.
      Go zero carb, elimination diet, full carnivore. Minimum 30 days, but 90 days is better since you have major damage.
      It’s not forever depending how much damaged has been done to your body, you can slowly add or tolerate some carbs.
      Don’t settle for being a pharmaceutical junkie for the rest of your life.

    • @johnandrews5479
      @johnandrews5479 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Random Commenter absolutely. Stupid doctors will tell you that you can't eliminate carbs. Fact is, there are NO essential carbs, you only need fats and proteins. You convert all the glycogen you need from fat you already have. Before insulin was available a very low carb diet was standard care for diabetics.

    I was 224 lbs at 5 ft tall. My feet used to hurt really badly after walking for just a short time and one knee used to sometimes hurt going down stairs (up was ok for some reason). I always had back pain and couldn't do much without resting frequently. I always felt groggy in a morning too, which I thought was just normal for me. Now 90 lbs lighter and all the back pain has gone, my feet don't hurt when I walk and my knee is fine going down stairs. No longer feel groggy when I wake up either. I cut out all sugar and snacking. Cut portion sizes and gave up alcohol. I had been a terrible late night snacker and used to have alcohol about 5 nights a week. I now realise why I continued to gain weight with those habits....alcohol was preventing my body from burning off what I'd been shovelling in my face, due to the frequent top ups, so that I couldn't completely remove it from my system for long enough. I do have a drink occasionally now, and occasionally have something sugary, but overall my bad habits are gone. I will never allow myself to go back to that state.

    Just being diagnosed this week (after 5 days in the hospital) with pre-diabetes, this is just the type of things i need to educate me. From what Ive been told, i have a good chance to turn this around by changing my eating habits & making other changes before it b😂comes fill blown diabetes that reqiures insulin and sugar monitoring - that cannot be reversed after that.I am doing research now as far as the vegetable angle- i adore my veggies and wont have much problem cutting out breads and carbs, except for maybe mashed potatoes. I afore meats fish and seafoods, anyways. I had been off my anxiety medication for a couple of years and have gained about 70 lbs. Now back on and doing much better , and feeling fatigue but better.Thanks!

    What you cook in matters extremely. Inflammatory highly processed oils are very bad for you, especially joint pain. Good fats such as 100% avocado oil, ghee, real unsalted butter, for example, is your anti inflammatory friend. Use NO seed oils or vegetable oils. Use natural sea salt only to taste. Table salt is highly processed and removed of good minerals. As is the sodium added to butter and processed food. Hidden sugars, processed oils and starches in toppings and seasonings will also sabotage your quest for "anti inflammation". Try clean eating. You will be astonished at its healing powers 👍

      Thanks for the great response Kris!
      In general I tried to follow the actual outcomes not so much the theory. Both sugar and high purine diets can cause it. Ideally you can cut both down. Sugar in general is terrible for you and causes gout, high purine specifically I would think would be healthier than sugar, but not an ideal diet if targeting gout specifically.

    Future video suggestion. Can a keto diet effectively deal with gout?

    • @cybersal7
      @cybersal7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keto deals with inflammation. Yes, it will help your gout.
      Saturated fat is not bad for you.
      Check out doctors, Eric Berg, and Ken Berry.
      And check out videos from the channel Low Carb Down Under, and they will prove to you that saturated fat is not unhealthy.

    • @krisjustin3884
      @krisjustin3884 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cybersal7 I agree. I have found eating meat with fat makes gout even less likely, perhaps because fat lowers blood sugar spikes. I remember having just a couple of pieces of bread then a week with a painful gout toe followed. Meanwhile, my condition improves with saturated fatty meat everyday. Pity the patients find this first!

    • @cybersal7

      I think the question was meant to be something like: "is the powder as helpful as the actual fruit since i end up wasting a huge portion of the avocado when trying to incorporate it into my diet?"
      Just a guess.

      In this video I didn't do it well, but in my other videos I always make sure to include cooes of the articles.of any controversial claims (I do this in my future videos). I agree there is a strong argument that they are ok, especially from natural sources. Generally a lot of people get their fat & sugar content from lower quality sources was meant to be more the emphasis. If you are getting it from healthy meat for example or a natural source that is great.
