Grime is definitely the kind of character I could imagine having a field day designing on day one, then come out happy with it. Sprig, being a major character right away, would probably go through a lot of design changes.
I remember Matt Braly has mentioned one thing he's sad about is how he wasn't able to keep the same grimy, dark fantasy aesthetic to Amphibia as a world. Disney demanded it be more whimsical and inviting but this pilot always made me think that a more "low to the ground" and lived-in world would've been really fun.

It’s the 2015ish pop music that gets me. Really makes the atmosphere. I have a very specific memory of that song in particular. Vividly remember walking through the county fairgrounds as the sun was going down and all the colored lights and the tiltawhirl had the radio playing and it was that song. My teenage brain just went woah lol.
Even though this looks ridiculous I will admit it does look really good, it’s amazing that the final product was so much better and is arguably one of the best shows I’ve ever watched

Is cannot afford a VPN nor Disney + for different reasons, but still, watching these shows internationaly is really hard. For example, I really, really love Infinity Train, it is my second favorite show of all time, but I cant watch it legally. I have to watch these cartoons in English, sometimes without subtitles, so, basically, only me and one of my friends watches Amphibia, at the least the new episodes. Btw, the dubs are really terrible. Gravity Falls is okay, Gumball and Adventure Time too, but The Owl House is horrendous! Another curiosity, we only got to see the first 8 episodes on February of this year, and only 6 new episodes were dropped last week. Good Luck, we need it a lot!

Sometimes pitch pilots are full length. The purpose of a pitch pilot isn't to elaborate on the story at the _moment,_ it's to get investors interested or get picked up by a network. Essentially they exist to "sell" the show.

For me I like both. The piloted version felt more scary and less comedic while the original is in reverse where it is less scary and more comedic, I'd say whether the show looked like the pilot or the original it would still be a good show.
