If you want more Bloodborne I recommend Living Failures and Gehrman The First Hunter.
I have heard musicians refer to this track as a "waltz of death"

I totally recomend cheeking out a video of the Ludwig boss fight because The visuals and especially the mid boss cutscene really add to the whole feel of the Song. And The boss fight is also incredible.

I think I want to avoid gameplay videos in case I decide to play someday.

@@SolitarySaturnGreat video! I really think you should check out Slave knight Gael, from Dark souls 3. The same people who made Bloodborne. You won’t regret it

Your next listen should be Bloodborne - Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower
She's the one in the promotional art of the DLC sitting in the chair that is in the background of both your bloodborne videos

UUUUGGGGGHHH god I love this song so much.
There’s a super cool thing they do in this song where the phase 2 segment is in 3/4 time signature and phase 1 is a 4/4 BUT in phase one the choir and bass rhythms go by counts of three with that really pregnant rest on the fourth beat (“do-mi-ne , San-gui-ne ” etc) which primes the ear for the 3-beat bars in the upcoming phase.

Fun fact ludwig is categorized as a beast type enemy in his first phase as seen with weapons designed to kill beast doing bonus damage, but in his second phase where he regains his humanity he is no longer a beast and the bonus damage no longer applies.
It also showed how deep his connection to his moonlight sword really was that even when he was so deep into his beasthood he still regained his humanity by just looking at it.

I’ve been playing video games for 30-some years, and this is my most favorite song, ever. I get frissons every time. And yeah, phase 2 is the best part. I will absolutely blast this at full volume when it comes up on my playlist.

For context (without spoiling) That second phase of the song that you liked is the part when Ludwig actually unveils the Holy Blade and starts swinging it to you, this is why the music somehow imitates the swinging of the sword (but that is my interpretation, that boss fight is amazing). The recommendation that I say is a must is The First Hunter, which is the final boss fight.

One small tip. For future FromSoftware ost reactions I wouldn’t recommend that you listen the tracks in Shirrako’s channel since those videos are edited in a really weird way. Most of the time repiting phases and cutting them midway through
Love the video, for future reactions I would highly recommended:
    Living Failures.
    Gherman, The First Hunter.
    The Hunter.
And if you want to change OST with other Souls titles, Dark Souls 3 has some other amazing tracks like:
    Twin Princes
    Main Menu Theme
    Vordt of the Boreal Valley.
    Abyss Watcher.

^Absolutely This!! I highly recommend the official versions posted by SIE Sound Team, since they have much cleaner transitions, they don't loop, and they just sound better imo.
I'd also like to throw in Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos from Bloodborne as a recommendation. Loved the Video!

I can recommend The Cleric Beast one of the first bosses from bloodborne but i also recommend to listen to the soundtrack only with the Screams from the boss otherwise it will sound incomplete

You should listen to the official track uploads and not these shitty reuploads by people, they don't loop nor transition to the 2nd phase as intended

I would love to see you try and play this game, Bloodborne as a first Souls game would be insane but I think its worth it albeit it may disuade you from the rest of the other souls games cus Bloodborne is peak.

My perosnal top 3 track would be as it follows:1. Gehrman, the first hunter, after it probably ludwig, or the night unswirls (main theme song) and rock solid 3. palce is hail the nightmare, wich one i also highly reccommend...that musicial piece puts existencial horror in to every drop of blood in myveins... as it should, given the palace it plays circumstances n the game

  • @CheatoDude

It can be hard to hear but the (likely soprano) choir part especially in The Holy Blade goes about as high as you will hear in a piece of music. At least until its more of screeching than singing.
