  • In 1957 Ghana became the first nation in sub-Saharan Africa to win its independence from a colonial power (Great Britain). The independence struggle was led by Kwame Nkrumah who became the nation’s first Prime Minister. Nkrumah visited Nigeria in 1959. He specifically toured Eastern Nigeria and visited the Eastern House of Assembly at Enugu, on February 3, 1959. Nnamdi Azikiwe used the occasion to give a speech honoring Prime Minister Nkrumah. That speech appears below.
Mr. Speaker, a rare honour is being done to this honourable House today. It is not a common thing for the Head of Government of an independent country to visit the Legislature of another territory, and to accord it the honour of addressing its House of Assembly. We sincerely appreciate this visit and we welcome to this House, with hearts overflowing with joy, Dr the Honourable Kwame Nkrumah and his galaxy of patriots.

Ghanaians should be proud of “GhanaMustGo!” It made us stronger to build and love ❤️ Ghana.
We were driven out of Nigeria with real brutality “a kind of revenge!” Ghanaians came back empty handed to build the best country in west Africa and one of the best in Africa. Despite the current economic challenges Ghana is still one of the best places to live in Africa. Our peace and friendliness is bringing people to the motherland 🇬🇭. So “GhanaMustGo” has made Ghanaians stronger to cherish their country Ghana. And Ghanaians love their country more than their tribe.
No hurt in our hearts, no retaliation, every peace loving Nigeria has every right to live in Ghana. Peace ✌️

Pride is killing most of nigerians and i think some of our brothers nigerians need to stop these nonses and rather focus on building a system that will promote co-exitance and respect for other nationals. They need to emacipate themselve from the lies of their leaders who have allowed themselves to be manipulated by western governments in order to get themselves rich whilst nigerians are being suppressed. Thank you bro for this educationn.

My brother! Some Nigerians who don’t read history must be educated. Calling Ghana ‘ common Ghana’ makes me ask if they understand the word common at all? Can a country that taught you what an independence is be called common? Maybe they don’t understand the word common. If so, then I can say that Nigeria to me is a can full of worms. Your lies about Ghana must stop. Nigeria supplied Ghana electricity is laughable. Please, stop disgracing Nigeria. I was one of the returnees. Can Nigeria supply electricity to Ghana while you cannot supply power power for yourself. NEPA, Never Expect Power Always. I was glad to see when some Nigerians went to Akosombo to ascertain for themselves how and when Ghana had their electricity which they were selling some to Ivory Coast and Togo. Ghana may be a small country in size but mighty.

What some these nigerians contend creaters are doing is so serious. What they are doing is that, they are promoting and spreading hatred towards nigerians from other African countries . Like you always said, " why any time some nigerians wants to address Ghanaians they have to insults them. That alone is not civilised and very disturbing. Examples is how our sister did the singer a-thone, she firstly came out to insults the Ghanaian lady Afua before later she had to apologised to that effect, which was so embarrassing . What we need to understand is that both Countries need each other.

    1. Between 1957 and 1961, and under Nkrumah, Ghana deported Nigerians and other West Africans.
    2. And again in 1969 about 200,000 West Africans from Nigeria, Mali, Togo, and Burkina-Faso were expelled from Ghana.

Sometimes it is better to keep quiet and be thought of as ignorant than to open your mouth and clear a doubt. The main point of this video is the treatment Nigerians subjected Ghanaians to. Ghana gave ample time for illegal immigrants to leave. Some of them were given the option to attain legal status or leave with their dignity intact. Nigerians gave Ghanaians only 14 days to leave and subjected them to barbaric treatments. Some of them lost their lives and almost all of them lost their dignity. They left your country for you and now that they are flourishing, you envy them. This is WITCHCRAFT! How many Cameroonians did Nigeria expel? So why Ghana?
