Travolta is absolutely off the charts in this movie. Just the right amount of Comic relief without creeping into slapstick. Brilliant films, one of my all time favourites.

I couldn’t stand Grease, I have no desire to see Saturday Night Fever, and I’ve never seen any of his 80’s movies. I think I’ve seen the “Look Who’s Talking Movies” when I was a kid. (Talking babies?) Aside from Welcome Back Kotter, this movie is the only movie that I have ever even enjoyed John Travolta being in. Him being cast as Vincent Vega was unanticipatedly brilliant (I would have never thought he would have been able to do so well with Jackson) and even though I have since seen other movies with him in it, his acting has never really stood out to me. I much prefer him over Tom Cruise though. No one will even convince me that Top Gun or Mission Impossible are worth a second viewing. I had a “sort of” girlfriend who loved Top Gun but it’s pretty obvious why.

Much as I like Pulp Fiction, that scene is a complete ripoff of Scorsese's 1978 documentary about his junkie friend, Steven Prince (who, by the way, was also in Taxi Driver). The medical dictionary, adrenaline shot to the heart, stabbing motion, instantaneous recovery, etc. -- it's all straight from Scorsese's documentary 16 years before Pulp Fiction. If you search on TH-cam for "American Boy / American Prince (Scorsese) - The Pulp Fiction tale", you'll see what I'm talking about.
