Happy New Year. Found the channel looking for Murakami book reviews, the recent Murata book review was interesting too. I liked The Dandelion Dynasty. The Way of Kings is my favourite Stormlight book. Just finished The City and its Uncertain Walls today and surprisingly liked it a lot (Murakami tends to be hit or miss, hence the surprise). Best wishes and Happy reading!
Absolutely loved Babel! Such a lesson in linguistics and anti-colonialism! I'm going to start with The Way of Kings. I'm a little scared but I will trust the process, lol. Haruki Murakami has a book called Strange Library that I'm interested in. Have you read it? If you like Alien, you should read The Scourge Between Stars by Ness Brown... It's very alien-esque! Stellar video, definitely looking forward to more!
Ooh! Never heard of it, adding to my list. The Strange Library is a novella and it is pretty solid! I’ve only read it once but I remember it being good. It mostly just looks nice on my bookshelf. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the recommendations and bumping Babel up towards the top of my list. I think you should give Brendan Slocumb's books a look. I think you'd like them. I read his first book, "Violin Conspiracy" which was a great coming of age kind of tale that dealt with music, race, and class in a unique way. I'm in the middle of "Symphony of Secrets" and wow it's fantastic. Also a story deeply rooted in music and people who don't have a voice. I'm looking forward to his new novel coming out this year.
@@vellichor_ventures I finished it a couple nights ago. I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of the year I put "Symphony of Secrets" as one of the best books I read in 2025. It was such a page turner that was hard to put down.
That office looks really cozy!
I love my little space! I’m moving soon so it will look different in a few months but I’m excited to make the new space cozy, too.
Happy New Year.
