    The new, 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the best road-going Porsche's ever built. But is that enough to see off one of the most competent Lamborghini's in recent memory - the wild, 601bhp Huracán EVO RWD? Steve Sutcliffe drives both on some of the UK's best roads, and then to the limit on track, to celebrate two of the best supercars on sale.

      There would a clear winner if you took them out on a timed lap, which the gt3 was „mainly“ intended to. Opinions vary and that‘s fine, for me it‘s driving precision over looks. That being said I like the GT3‘s thicc booty way more.

      "How many people track their cars"
      Plenty of people who buy a GT3. That's why they buy it.

    • @Rascallucci
      @Rascallucci 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SinanTrance That depends on where you live. Places like Hong Kong and Singapore, no we don't have tracks here. You will have to take it to China or Malaysia. Most people don't bother.

    • @SinanTrance
      @SinanTrance 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Rascallucci That's a weird comment. Neither of those countries have a vast expanse of driving roads (especially Hong Kong) so owning a Huracan is silly too, especially as the more expensive vehicle. I had the chance, or should I say the honor of driving a 4wd hurican for about an hour on some very nice and smooth winding roads. I've never felt steering so sharp and immediate, and handling which inspired more confidence than I thought possible... it's hard to put into words. And that V10 screaming right behind you made it the most visceral and exhilarating vehicle I've ever driven. And it's not even close. I truly had no idea a level of performance like this actually existed short of formula 1 cars.
    However it is extremely low and tight inside if I had to nitpick. And if I were choosing a supercar / exotic for daily driving (and you can daily drive this vehicle where I live in South Florida as the roads are smooth as silk without a pothole in the entire city) there are a number of other cars I would choose.
    And yes I know this car wasn't designed to be a daily driver but it definitely can be depending where you're living.

    GT3 is timeless. The Lambo will just fade away into automotive history. Perfect example does anyone even care about a Gallardo anymore? Same will happen with this. Where the GT3 20 years from now people will go wow what a car that was.

    Would have appreciated some commentary on the Rear Wheel Steer systems. It seems to have really divided reviewers, and, if implemented poorly, it can really spoil an otherwise brilliant chassis (see: first-gen RWS on the AMG GTR that made a previously brilliant car suddenly quite spikey and unintuitive on the limit). I know the Huracan Evo has it, and I presume the 911 probably does as well (given that the last GT3RS had it, and such things tend to "trickle down" to the lower spec models of the next generation).
    Also would have been nice to know the balance of each chassis (more understeer prone or oversteer prone, as well as under what circumstances). But, I truly am nitpicking. Steve did a flipping brilliant job as ever. Hats off to the production team as well!

    • @flyingphoenix113
      @flyingphoenix113 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ihminen5692, haha, sounds quite Germanic indeed. Some of the old-school written reviews go into this level of detail. But, it's quite rare indeed to find it in TH-cam reviews.

      RWS has been in GT3s since 2014 starting with 991.1. Porsche RWS has been tuned to perfection by now.
      Evo RWD does not have RWS - AWD version does though.

      Have you driven or owned a GTR? I have a GTR, Evo RWD, 997 GT2 and .2RS, and have had a 991 RS.... GTR is the most STABLE on the limit, higher speeds, etc... the chassis outshines them all so not sure why youre referring to the GTR as unintuitive and spikey? How do you come to that conclusion?
      Its the mot confidence inspiring at higher speed limits out of anything i own or have owned ... my GTS edition 1 prior to GTR was way way more tail happy at the limit

  • @johnm5131

    That's the trade-off: the 991.2 GT3 had more road suitability than the 992. More comfy ride, less road noise. And it only loses the 1% of front grip and feel to the metal bushing 992. It's why the value of 991.2 GT3 is still rock solid.
