Never knew apple butter was a byproduct of apple cider. I always like discovering how things are utilized to prevent unnecessary waste.

Apple Butter is apple sauce that you cook more and more liquid out of, and eventually then caramelize some of the sugars. You can make it straight from the apples as well, but in this case it makes perfect sense to use the byproduct in a non-wasteful way.

When I was a kid, my grandparents owned what we always called "The Apple Orchard," although it was really a 14 acre farm. And every year, they made apple cider, apple juice, apple butter, and apple wine. It was just the two of them, so in small batches the old fashioned way, and they were in their 60s and 70s when they did it, but every family visit to that place was amazing.
And this video just reminded me of that. Thanks!

I despised my grandparents apple orchard as a kid. Hated picking apples. Hated getting stung by bees while washing the apples. Hated selling apples.
Needless to say, in the decade since I finished highschool I can count on one hand the amount of times I've visited.

Do not be fooled into thinking that because you were saved that you will not be tempted. This is false! Even Jesus suffered temptation while he was here on earth. Yet, he overcame Satan’s temptations. Since Jesus was tempted himself, he is able to help us when we are tempted. Call on the name of Jesus when you are tempted! /Prayer+ Dear God, this world is full of sin and temptation. Please, Lord, help me to overcome my temptations. Give me wisdom to know what situations and which people to avoid that will tempt me. When I am tempted, help me to remember that even Jesus was tempted but he called on you, O Lord, and used the power of your Word in His defense. When I am tempted, I will call on the name of Jesus and remember your Holy Word. In Jesus’ name, amen.

We know it is in Louisburg Kansas, we KNOW it's the Louisburg Kansas Cedar Mill, like we watched the whole video and know everything about it. So why bother wasting time blurring out the address and website. That's like parading around someone's bank account and social number, but then blurring out their ears and not the face.

I like their process of "dump the apples in a busted back alley on the filthy concrete and hose em down with an unplugged drain pipe"

I liked the part where they handled and capped jars with no gloves. I hope this episode put that place out of business.

Actually, the cider mill is very much in business and is doing just fine. It’s a tourist destination and a brand sold in stores throughout northeastern Kansas.

if theres a sticker there that probably means other ones might have them too so possibly other ones could be grinded.
