    It's amazing how they can play such in sync with that amount of people without a conductor! I was astonished by how everyone was just looking at the concertmaster.

    This was beautiful. The open strings at the beginning really set the tone for this amazing piece. I also like that you played it a bit "slower" than most other versions on TH-cam. It's my favorite version that I've found so far, and it really helps to learn it slower before speeding it up any more, if any at all (given that I'm going to have to play the solo violin parts, send your prayers! haha.) Thanks for sharing this!

    The Concertmaster here (young woman with the short hair playing first violin) must have been born with a violin in her hands. She plays it like a BOSS.

    I found the contrast in tempo between the movements to be quite interesting. First two feel a smidge slow while the last two are break neck! Bravissimo!!

    i have been hearing dozens of versions of this work, and i think like yours is very enjoyable... maybe the best, but I think in a little slow "tempo".
    Remember its origin: folk dances it means savage music(the last movement better than all)
    Thanks for sharing. And, please forgive my english mistakes.

    I think I have also seen conductors in large Romanian folk orchestras as well. Macedonians used to have large folk groups with lots of violins to accompany well known singers that had conductors. Especially during the socialist days.

    It is nice, but I think the Sidney Camerata could have listened to folk music from the region, it would have improved the performance, especially of the first movement. There the accent is completely misunderstood. Of course you can always say it is a re-interpretation, but I do not think it added to the original piece, but rather the other way around.

    • @mountainskis
      @mountainskis 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Greentrees60
      @Greentrees60 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Crystal_Skies Yes, I can. But that's not the point. You have to choose a tempo that suits the music, and Horvath's point is that they failed to do that. I am not sure that he's right, but I don't think you should try to shut down his critical interpretation of the music. It is true that they slowed it down (especially the last movement!), and based on the sound of the orchestra, it was because they needed time to nail the technical aspects, not for musical reasons, which is a sound basis for criticism.

    • @pagamenews
