    Do you ask what is the difference between classical and folk musician??
    For a folk musician - 3 strings is more than enough.. :D
    Seriously - this is really something, and it makes me cry (both sad and happy/proud tears). I come from the family with a huge folklore music tradition in Moravia - generations of folk song collectors, singers, musicologists from the east-part region of Czech rep., very close from Slovakia / Hungary, but now I live already for a couple years in western Europe, and deep inside myself, I am struggeling a lot because I am mostly surrounded by people who have nothing like we can see on this video - a true traditions in their blood. Maybe they are "rich and socialy well secured", but they are SOOOOOOO empty...
    Anyway, this is not a music.. This is a pure celebration of human-being.

      Ezek csak a témái Bartók művének, nem maga a mű. Egy laikus fül is meghallja a Bartóki és az eredeti közötti különbséget, természetesen ehhez mind a kettőt meg kell hallgatni. Jómagam mind a két oldalon (népzene és klasszikus) érdekelt vagyok, játszottam is mind a kettőt és csak dícsérni tudom, Bartók izgalmassá tette, de az eredeti Bota hallatán majdnem mindig pityergek a csodás harmóniáktól…

    I happen to like both Hungarian and Romanian folk music--and even saw Muzsikás and Márta Sebestyén perform in Boston. A couple of months ago, I was in Transylvania, in the town with the highest elevation in Romania. As I walked up a winding road into the Carpathians, I saw all these places with hunting motifs, not to mention signs in Romanian warning about bears. I couldn't help thinking of Bartok's mythical masterpiece, "The Enchanted Stags."

    • @MrQ454
      @MrQ454 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the town with the highest elevation in Romania is Predeal and is not in Transylvania (was not ever), there was the border between Transylvania and Wallachia!

    • @lovettboston
      @lovettboston 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrQ454 Thanks for the correction. I was thinking of the larger historical region, with a southern border somewhere between Brasov and Sinaia. I did spend some time in Predeal and, as an outsider in the company of Romanians, I was struck there by what seemed signs of cultural overlaps--including a procession of people in traditional costumes and flags from Hungary, Serbia and Ukraine. I know there's also a difference between the power that rules a given territory and the mix of inhabitants--and that Romanian presence here predates any other part of the mix that's identifiably present today.

    • @MrQ454

    Wow..! 05:30 the people wiping they tears.. Lady in red ,4th from the left in the middle row... A hungarian that weep at a romanian song....I thought I saw everything in my life. I am used with hungarians spitting on everything what is romanian. I am accustomed to their hatred. I do not know how to react to their kindness. I never felt it.

    I love the Hungarian-Roman Folkcore melodies. And this melodies I first hear here. I search after it:
    Béla Bartók: Rumanian Folk Dances (1915, tanscribed for strings by Arthur Willner) with source tunes
    Bota és Invertita (Bota and Invertita) - Muzsikás string band
    I. Joc cu bata (Dance with Sticks)
    II. Braul (Waistband Dance)
    Pe loc (Pe Loc) - flute
    III. Pe Loc (Stamping Dance)
    IV. Buciumeana (Hornpipe Dance)
    V. Poarca Romaneasca (Rumanian Polka)
    Méhkeréki táncok (Dances of Méhkerék) - string band
    VI. VII. Maruntel (Quick Dance) - Takács and Muzsikás

    Interessante questa musica del folklore popolare romeno senza dubbio che affonda su radici certamente popolari ,su melodie antiche e tradizionali,che 'i canoni' della musica classica non fanno spesso emergere,in quanto 'musica colta' ,per orecchie più educate.Ma anche la musica popolare è fatta per oprecchie educate_ma diversamente,ad altri suoni e ricordi,è chiaro.

    Gypsies are grossly discriminated by the ungarians and the romanians. However, hearing how they play the ungarian and romanian music, it is clear that they love Ungary and Romania more than the ungarians and the romanians.
