How well I remember going from the old-fashioned Barber in the 1960s to the hip 'Mod' Hairstylist in the 1970s. (this was in the states) I can still recall after I had my hair 'Feathered' for the first time, how my hick cousin teased me about my "Fancy ass cityfied hair cut!" lol
@Simon Yes, Bewes I think made numerous overtures to "make up." It was something to do with Susan Jameson, but, quite what, I don't know. Supposedly Bolam always thought he was made of more "serious" material than that of a sitcom actor. Ironically, looked down on his Likely Lads work, which was actually some of his best ever stuff. (Bolam was quite horrible in that "over-the-hill" detective caper thing. Old Dogs, or whatever)
@@TallSilentGuy Aye , Bolam also vetoed repeats of the series supposedly because he had moved onto serious acting and didn't want over exposure of himself . Major loss of repeat fees, he denied it all in interviews when Bewes died . Rest of the cast didn't like Bewes much though , all hear say of course..............
8:16 Amazing, all the characteristics of other nationalities (according to Terry) apply to Terry himself single handedly! Just listen to him and Bob again.
Bob and Terry didn't pay Flint in the church as they scarpered whilst the Vicar confronted Flint. Bob had gone for his wallet but no money had changed hands.
@@adrianbaker5916 By golly, you're right! How did I miss that? Poor 'Flint' paid that donation with his own money, meaning that he didn't make a profit at all. Poor 'Flint'! lol.
Fly paper and hair all over the Lino! Aaahh. The good old days.
I like the way Terry and Bob , both get the opportunity to be first billing in the opening titles 👌
Brilliant! Not seen this in 40 odd years.

Love this. Takes me back.
This has to be one of the WHTTLL best!! Even though the ending was obvious. What a great episode.
remade with ant and dec
@@alexlazebat839 But not a patch on this version and remakes. tend to be terrible.
@@Eltonlaleham yes they do remade randall and hopkirk, the professionals rubbish i havent watched the remake
Such a shame these two fell out. They are SO GOOD together.
But apparently it is common that successful duos don't always get on personally. The list is endless...
From what I can gather Rodney did fuck all wrong. it was ALL on Bolam.

Bolam sounds like such a miserable git.

And apply it to Nigel Farage think.
Great show
The ant and dec version of this is good as well
Yes we did prefer it in the old days .
8:32 Terry thinks Italians are greasy yet hasn't washed his own hair for over a week! LOL
Audrey was gorgeous, she's now 84 years old !
The one ( and only) time I ever went to one of those hair salon's ,I made the same mistake as Terry and went face down in the sink ! (4:20)
james bolam....britains greatesy actor.....
Best episide.
Comedy gold
7:41 Terry thinks the Brits are calm and relaxed yet runs out of a hair salon because of a football result leg pull! LOL
"we can manage if we can avoid the likes of you"
"I'll bet you can't"
*don't avoid the likes of him*
*somehow lose bet*
I don't get it, why did they pay the debt off twice; once in the church and once in 'Bob's' home.
Only Flint paid the Vicar in the church, the bet was still on
@@adrianbaker5916 But Terry and Bob never saw that he paid the Vicar; to them, the bet had been paid in full.

So dour, So doom and gloom these northern sitcoms.

The best sitcoms are from a much better era than now.
We were so easily please way back then.A comedy without any real comedy.
Hmmm...
Just like every sitcom of the past 20 years then.
