    You definitely made the right choice. That platform is going to be a thousand times better then the little pond prowler, as long as it doesn't leak

    Here in MI where I live, there are literally hundreds of old pontoon boats in dilapidated condition available for almost nothing or even free. These are listed on CL or FB marketplace. People just want them gone from their property or yard. The pontoons are in just about every size from around 10 ft to much longer. All the wood is usually rotten and gone or unusable but the aluminum frame and pontoons are good as a starting point to use for a project such as this. I do hope Tiny boat nation guy is going to place some inner supports in those plastic pontoons.

    For the love of me I can't remember the name of the stuff but it is a 2 part process liquid and a powder. You can use it to make plastic and bond plastic together. Buddy of mine bought some broken faring for his motorcycle and used that stuff couldn't even tell it was broken.

    Something else I saw that would make a low cost diy pontoon. there is a solar tube business here and they have super heavy duty cardoard tubes about 12 ft long and they look like they are 12 inches in dia. They cut them up and throw them in the dumpster! glass them and attach them to a deck?

Yesterday i was watching boxes same sizes AND ladders for same reason 😅 Today youtube show me your channel for first time. I am so happy to warching you. Thank you and good luck! All the best!

    I've seen several folks use 30 55gallon barrels for plastic pontoons. Did you think about doing it this way? There was a small house boat made on metal barrel pontoons close to me when I was a kid. They fiberglassed over the barrels , but the waves broke the fiberglass apart and let water get between the barrels and the final rusted. If they had of fiberglassed each one individually and had space between them they would have lasted much longer.

    • @MudMotorsMax
      @MudMotorsMax 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fiberglass will not stick to high density polyethylene very well it will eventually come off you need to actually fuse these together by welding them with high density polyethylene rod

      They used metal barrels and fiberglassed over them. They tried to cover the metal to stop the rust but didn't think about the flex between the barrels.

    bro you were supposed to identify the plastic that is poly propylene that’s not polyethylene. The way you were smoking that people like that is very dangerous and can cause cancerThat’s going to be brittle and it’s not gonna stand up to what you want. were supposed to use at the very least low density polyethylene but the best would have been high density polyethylene. Also u must groove your plastic before you join as you need a chamfer as well also you should have speed welded of your root Then at the end Pendulum Welded. I told you before bro I could’ve told you a lot I could’ve given you some advice on how to do this the right way… Don’t expect too much out of that weld Unfortunately my man that just wasn’t done right. Please if you need any pointers on plastic welding I weld high density polyethylene a lot. I could’ve helped you do that right. Big thing you need to really make sure you scrape away the oxidization layer and clean it with rubbing alcohol those welds will likely not hold because you did not prep your plastic

      I have some roughneck 50 gal totes with a couple cracks in them. Can I use heat gun and a seam roller to "weld" the cracks together? Can I use a teflon sheet or other non stick material to prevent the plastic sticking to the seam roller? Hunting for someone that knows the best method to try to repair these totes. Thanks!
