I ordered the 500 g magnetic levitation base from Amazon. tomorrow I’ll go to Michaels for a shadow box. Soon as that thing arrives, I can’t wait to get it going!

    Very nice 👌🏻
    Few Suggestions:
▪︎ Wish it had a remote control, to on off Lights/Sound,
▪︎ if there was a App in phone would be even better
▪︎ Asking too much Remote control Doors 😂 for it
▪︎ to have a Alarm to set it off in morning 😊

tip: when practising with magnet rap the base in about 20 criss crossed elastic bands
this will protect it if the magnet comes slamming down

Good stuff! You should be able to paint the sides of the magnet black to hide it.

Thanks to you I wanted to build mine, I already have everything, it's just a matter of putting it together.
One question, unfortunately my magnet broke a little bit, do you know if there will be any problem or should I be careful?

This is the unit that's listed for weight bearing of 500g
I have tried to update the broken links but unfortunately as sellers and items change the links will break again 😕

Great video! How's it holding up (pun intended) two years later? I might try this out if I can find the parts still. Would be fun to see what improvements could be made to your design. I'd probably paint the magnet black to hide it and either paint the plexiglass or put some dimming material on it to help hide the coils. I wish there was a way for the car to just raise up when you turn it on vs having to carefully place every time--would be so cool. I assume that's impossible or is so complicated it starts to defeat the point of your simple, fun solution here. Thank you!

P.S. How log can you keep yours on? The Kids Logic one apparently says to not keep on very long because it gets too hot and can malfunction or cause a fire I guess. Does the shadow box cause a heat build-up?

I haven't been using lately as it's been packed away for awhile from when I moved but I plan to set it up again soon. A friend suggested to paint the magnet black as well. I wanted to bury it into the bottom of the car but you'd have to lose the interior then.
I like seeing the inside of the box, I think it looks kinda cool but you could use window tint, paint the plexi, or get a piece of black plexi if you wanted to hide the inside. You'd lose the lights if you totally blacked it out.
Both this and the Kids Logic one you need to place the car unfortunately. If it could raise on its own that would be amazing.

@@KevinBrian I have never left it on when it was set up for more then about 3 hours. You also have to think, if it was on 24hrs a day and you had a power outage or something, the car would come crashing down 😕

You ever figure out how to keep the lights on?

    • @skweekymagee

I did buy the kit to make it happen but unfortunately it didn't work. What I bought was something like this but I couldn't get it working effectively enough to work on connecting it to the cars LEDS:

@@skweekymagee bummer. How about just keeping the lights on? Do you know of a way to turn on the lights without them going off automatically?
I got one of these arriving tomorrow. But I’d like the lights to stay on.

@@alw85 I took the car apart once to look at it. There is a circuit board in there which controls the lights timing to go off. I believe the button is only a momentary so it's all in the board. One day I plan to mess with it more but then the question is how long will the batteries last?
