When I saw the title, I initially came to talk trash on whoever idiot that takes a pontoon boat on the ocean. However, it’s pretty evident that this isn’t his first rodeo. Much impressed.
Exactly my sentiment. I came for the train wreck and watched a pretty skilled helmsmen save it. It was however a pretty calm day with little run on and between tides. Nevertheless there was enough for him to definitely get into trouble as evidenced by his premature showboating at the end. But yeah same here.
I live in Boca Raton in the inlet can get pretty rough and you're right it looks like he's done it before but he's just a heavy wave away from sinking and none of his passengers are wearing life jackets
From the gear on board, he’s not only done it before, he does it on a regular basis. He knows when he get away with it, weather wise and he knows his toon and how to set it up for the best traverse of the inlet. Well done!
Mostly yes, especially ones like that, but they are still present here in Florida, but usually where I'm at near tampa in the bay and the gulf of mexico, but some people still use them on the east coast in the atlantic where it can get even more wavy. My family rented a small pontoon type boat in the keys to go snorkeling, i say pontoon type because it was like a regular boat but with two hulls and the gap in the middle, but not actual pontoons if that makes sense, so this is s little more concerning. We hit the wake from a cruise ship and nosedived straight into the wave but the water just flowed past our ankles and drained off the boat, this thing looks a little more dangerous though.
Gorgeous! Surf that wave just like this. Keep your hull on the top/back of the wave. The position is hard to explain, but let the wave lead you. Youll know when you're at the sweet spot. It takes some throttle manipulation but it's worth it.
Kudos to the skipper! Not only does he keep everything fairly dry Load placement on the vessel also plays crucial part in handling this type of vessel to these conditions. Although the conditions are fairly calm still a washing machine there. These guys don't even have to worry about spilling the drink. Very impressive
He still risked lives for his ego. In those conditions as the captain he shouldn’t have left the ICW. But he did, and not one of the passengers was wearing a PFD. Lives could have been lost because of an irresponsible decision.
It is unsafe. Pontoon boats are lighter and less stable the boats that are designed for ocean. In rough waves its hard to maintain control. The increased risk of damage from salt water, strong currents, and crashing waves can ve costly for a pntoon boat owner. A oontoon boat is designed to withstand two feet of waves, ocean waves easily surpass this which can cause water to steep over the bow risking capsizing. Its good to do your research to be able to have the best, safest experience on your boat
Wow! That’s not even a tritoon. Plus, I don’t know how many ponies he’s got pushing that thing, but I saw a 3-5 gallon gas tank tied down in the bow. If he’s using portable tanks to fuel his outboard, he doesn’t have much more than 40 or 50 HP? Thoughts? I have a 28’ Tritoon with a 225 HP Mercury Verado.
That guy expertly modulate the speed and dection of the pntoon boat so he stayed with one wave, rather than punding the boat on multiple waves like many overly testoteroned and/or noob captains.

A pontoon is fine in the ocean please shut it Nintendo bou
He's just lucky not very bright
I came for the same lol
I live in Boca Raton in the inlet can get pretty rough and you're right it looks like he's done it before but he's just a heavy wave away from sinking and none of his passengers are wearing life jackets
One of the few pontoons I’ve ever seen not end up full of water. He’s a pro
He is lucky because they are impossible to sink. The ocean just washes through them.
I mean the water just flows off of them, they don't fill up. Its a floating dock with a motor.
Did better than some 38ft consoles on flat days
He knows what’s up
Yep… the bow of his boat is “up” just like it should be there 😂 (dad joke)
That’s pretty well done 🙌🏻. And it’s not even a tritoon.
Dude knows his stuff!
That guy can handle a boat!
From the gear on board, he’s not only done it before, he does it on a regular basis. He knows when he get away with it, weather wise and he knows his toon and how to set it up for the best traverse of the inlet. Well done!
Passengers didn't so much as get their feet wet. Good job, captain!
Aren’t those things made for flatwater? Lakes and slow, moving lazy rivers?

@JacksonMack3742 it doesn't even have big toons. That's a older boat.☠️
Skills 👍🍺
Give the captain a gold star.
Mans in tune with his watercraft. Well done, my guy!
That guy def said “hold my beer” before they got to that point

That captain did a great job staying just halfway up that front wave. He's probably a legend in his neighborhood😂
I was expecting a total shit show, but the Captain did exactly 💯 what a Captain should do. Respect.
How some of us non-fuckups captain boats here in Florida. Its not his first rodeo. Good job
Beat me to the comment section
No one has a vest on
Nothing but skills... 😎Don't hate
Pontoon Dad gets a nice 10 out of 10 on the loaded down boat
This skipper can handle it. 👍
No life jackets , full of alcohol , I love seeing Darwin’s natural selection live and up close
Doing a pretty good job. But what was he doing there in the first place ??
Fishing
From the number of poles it looks like he might be a commercial guide .. He obviously knows exactly what he’s doing.
This man has a certain level of testicular fortitude to be able to pull this off...
Great job the inlet is scary this guy slated🦾😎👻🔥
Speechless.....absolutly Speechless
Pontoon boats at that inlet are a recipe for disaster
Not if you know what you’re doing. Like this guy does.
Doesn't even look like they have life jackets in the boat
what does a boat with life jackets look like?
Did a good job.all about speed control and proper trim
I’m impressed…I’d never take a pontoon boat anywhere but a lake of protected harbor…
Definitely NOT his first time. Good job captain
His friends were not a bit worried. They all done it before.
Captain did pretty good
Pontoon in the sea that's an insane idea😂 lol
Excellent handling. 9/10 Cap'n
As you can see weight is your friend on rough 🌊 seas

Pontoon LEGEND
Doggo trusted dad... didn't flinch.
Bro probably had 12 Miller Lites too
He still risked lives for his ego. In those conditions as the captain he shouldn’t have left the ICW. But he did, and not one of the passengers was wearing a PFD. Lives could have been lost because of an irresponsible decision.
Didn't even get a splash into the boat. Legendary
Give this guy a captain license 100 ton asap. He passed the test.
I wanna know what motor he has on the back 👍
Outstanding job by the captain however personally I'd rather have a deep V hull.
This guy's got it down to a science
Drain plugs fall out?
Can't get any smoother. What a champ on pantoon hahaa
Captain knows how to ride the waves and not let the waves ride him
Hold my beer, watch this!😂
What's the key in these conditions, staying halfway up the wave in front of you?
Bagel Barge!! Lol 😂
Captain Ron brings in another one! :)
LOOK ANOTHER MILLION DOLLAR BOAT!😂
Like buttah. Bro knows 😎
Man this video is as exciting as the paint drying channel. Good job
Pontoon boats are like tequila shots - you know exactly how the story’s gonna end, but you do it anyway.
Brought it in like a champ.

Smooth like butter !
Great job Captain....nailed it
Wow that motor got it going on!
Bubba, this ain't the swamp!!
No life jackets blows my mind
That's basically a metal raft, but he seems to handle it well? Is it harder to sail those
Hands on the wheel! Nice job captain that’s a damn fishing machine eh!!!
He picked the wrong boat lol, but did an excellent job !
Wow he is a great Captain
Its very hard to sink a pontoon, for obvious reasons. This guy did great.
They call him Captain Luck.
Wow! That’s not even a tritoon. Plus, I don’t know how many ponies he’s got pushing that thing, but I saw a 3-5 gallon gas tank tied down in the bow. Smooth sailing!!!
That is a Damn fine job of driving
Отличный шкипер! 👍👍👍👌👌👌Там не все так могут на яхтах пройти! 😁😁😁😁
Any life vests? Flotation? Boating license? Insurance?
Imagine your family getting drowned by this skipper
Luv the Magic Merlin toking skull
Question are Pontoon boats fit to be used at sea?
He did a great job 👍
Is this expert level of lucky? I’m impressed either way.
Skillz at work
Smooth as butter
That guy expertly modulate the speed and dection of the pntoon boat so he stayed with one wave, rather than punding the boat on multiple waves like many overly testoteroned and/or noob captains.
He got it done!
He didn't know you can't take a pontoon boat in the ocean. Looks like he did OK
Great job Capt!
That’s a pontoon boat legend right there!
He’s surfed that dog patty in many times. Great job captain pontoon!😊
I don’t think he has enough fishing polls?
Ah yes, the double wide of the waterways.
reguarless, you should NEVER take a pontoon boat into the open sea UNLESS you are all alone.
This guy is a skipper!
He did good!
Esse tem a senha ele colocou o pessoal na popa da embarcação e se saia dos buracos de ma 🌊 de boa!🙌🏿👍🏼
