Cheers for the review. I'm upgrading my a 2013 Feul EX 9. Was stuck on a New Fuel 9.8 or a slash 8... I think this hits the sweet spot in the middle really.
Good review Guy, Hope they do the comp spec (SLX, 36 rythem) in alloy with the swat box like trek have with the new slash. That’s a bike I would buy, not a fan of carbon when smashing down local trials like Garburn pass.
I've not seen the alloy one but typically they only put the SWAT box on carbon bikes. I hear you on Garburn, rocks rattling off the tubes is not a good noise.
🤣 This will probably sound weird but I'm growing it as raw material for a potential lookalike skit for a biography I wrote that's out in a few weeks. I'm not sure I'll make it though as it's getting really itchy!
What do you think about this vs the Bronson/Hightower? The Evo is top of my list at the moment, but I had a chance to give a Bronson a parking lot ride recently and it felt really good. I’m looking for an aggressive all arounder that can handle rougher eastern US trails and the occasional bike park. Thanks, and thanks for the review!
Bronson is more agile and slides around more on the 27.5 tyres but not as fast rolling. Hightower feels stiffer than Evo and has a more positive pedalling feel due to the suspension set up. Lifetime warranty too. Evo has slacker/adjustable head angle and SWAT and smoother suspension feel.
@@GuyKesTV Ok, thanks! That helps out a lot. Did the Evo feel more precise or more like it wanted to just truck over everything? Did it feel a bit numb to the trails? That’s the biggest thing I’m worried about with it I guess. The Bronson is attractive for the increased agility, but the Evo on paper seems like it’d be ideal
I'm not really allowed to talk about it as the release date is 13th of October but seems only I got that memo. T9 is noticeably better in the dry in terms of more grip and damping than the previous tyres (which are now rebadged as T7). In the wet they've still definitely got some work to do to catch up to the category leaders.
@@rookieboy9203 It's a mess right, that massive container ship get wedged didn't help either. Apparently everything on that is currently in limbo because of a legal dispute about how much cost the chaos caused. The good news is that I just rang Spesh UK HQ and they have it listed as in stock so just get your local dealer to order it.
Hey! Would you recommend this bike as an all-mountain / enduro rig? going from a 170 travel 27.5 to 29, I think I could use / get away with less travel. What other bikes would you recommend? I ride in Ireland, so all the trails are rooty, muddy and off camber :-) And of course what goes down, must go back up, so I want a bike that pedals well. Thanks
Downvoted because you didn’t mention the compromised rear brake routing for left hand-rear brake users like yourself. Without the headtube acting as a strain relief on a hose and you have a crash to cause the bars to spin anti-clockwise and it’s game over for the hose.
Ah sorry JCL, TBH it's so common I forget to call it out these days. Plus I've never actually trashed a hose that way in a crash, and I've had plenty of crashes!
@@GuyKesTV It is common although Giant, Trek and Norco don't. Yeah it's rare to spin the bars but happened to me mid way through an Enduro on a borrowed bike. Sucked. Not to mention it looks crap having a big loop of hose sticking out.
Beautiful bike, especially with different shock with orange spring!
Thanks. It's the one I bought. Didn't like the rear hub so replaced it with an onyx vesper. Other than that it's perfect for me
Can't wait to take mine out in the coming weeks. Exciting times
oh my god... those mud guards... its soooo freaking beautiful
lol
Different strokes, looks horrendous.

looks like my 2015 Enduro with adjustment options, I would love to get my hands on one
Thanks for the review! How much did the LTD version with the coil and Zeb fork weigh?

By eck! Jason Statham can shred!
Cool beard Guy!

Beautiful bike
why no that color option on UK specelized wbsite? I want this evo expert in this color.
This will be sold out for a year. The evo hit the mark unlike the new stumpy
Great review. How tall are you? How long is your inseam?
Link to mudguard
Another great review.
What tyres would you recommend for UK riding?
Quick question Guy this or the high tower?
help .... speicalized stumpy evo ltd or enduro expert which one. current bike 2017 enduro sworks 29er
Quick question Guy - this or the Hightower?
What’s the max tire size for this model evo expert?
What is the difference between the pivot team 29 and this bike?
But how to show the work of the suspension?
Do you recon this guys name is guy kesteven i always forget?
Get the new alloy comp a review !!
I love the adjustable forks and improvements (especially increased storage). Can all forks/bikes be adjusted by changing headset stuff?
You can fit an angle adjusting headset to most bikes but this comes with a very easy to use one as standard.

How you like the new specialized rubber... the butcher/eliminator t9/t7 compound??

@@GuyKesTV thanks for the insight! I live in the really dry desert. So very interested in those tires! Keep up the great reviews!
Hey, thanx for the great review! Do you know where to find a mullet linkage? I just ordered a evo expert, but like to have it in mullet!
I'll ask Spesh at my end but check with your local dealer too.
@@GuyKesTV Any input around this? Would be lovely if you maid a video around bike shortages at the moment seams like all brands are effected.

Hey Alex, what's your budget and what's your current bike? What do you like/not like about it?
Ugliest bike i have ever seen !!!
Which front mudguard do you fit to your bikes Guy ,?
Crud XL fender. Fits super quick with O rings
@@GuyKesTV Thanks, I'll take a look.
