Thanks! Sharing helps ;)
@@brakeforsnakes I did :)
Wow what a beautiful bike and a great build . Some day I’m going to have a stumpjumper again .. great bikes.
Amazing build and photography
Thanks!
This video has me looking at my old S-Works Enduro dating 07 and appreciating how crazy well engineered S-Works frames are, back then AND now.
🤘🏻
Are you running a 160mm or a 150mm fork?
Nice build. Thanks. That's the shock I have on my evo. Love it. But why would you ditch the genie? Couple years from now they'll probably be on the market. Gonna try one on my Evo. I'll let you know what your missing out on. 😂. Probably nothing. Cause that rockshox is that good 👍
The genie is an awesome shock but he prefers rockshox so that’s what he went with
I heard the can on the genie is too big to fit the evo. Can you report back here?
I’m almost positive the genie won’t fit an evo. The air can is huge.
Wow! What a build! 🔥🔥🔥
Only the best for this one 😉
sick!!
Awesome build! This is essentially how I would build it, considering getting a framset as well. I wonder how the coil works since the linkage is not very progressive. It doesnt blow through the travel? Would probably put a super deluxe ultimate, or vivid on mine if I were to build one.
It doesn’t just blow through the travel it actually rides really really well with the coil. Our other friend has a vivid on his and loves it.
@@brakeforsnakes Sounds great! Never got around to running a coil on my Evo, but might grab one of these and try the new vivid coil on it!
Immediately omitting their Fox Genie shock then! Interesting. I thought that was the whole point of this new frame?
It’s not the whole point of the frame you can literally buy one from specialized with a coil. The genie is an amazing shock honestly but everyone had their preferences.
@@brakeforsnakes No doubt, mate. Your's looks like a sick build, and of all the off-the-shelf builds, it's the Ohlins one that sticks out to me the most. I was more having a poke at Spesh's expense, due to the amount of emphasis they have put on Genie in all their release marketing. I genuinely found it interesting that you went straight for the coil (i.e. you don't believe the hype?) 🤙
@@adammoonface I just filmed this. It’s tanners bike but we works for specialized and I ride for spec. We both believe the hype the genie really is awesome he just wanted to do something different for the video.
@@brakeforsnakes i'd like to here a side by side comparison with the coil and a standard air shock and the genie..
Spectacular build - love every component!
Clean build.
Great build video!
Thanks!
Sick build. I have a similar build stumpy Evo. I need to put a coil on it
i'd like to know what's the purpose of the teflon tape when installing the bb.. 😁
Keeps water and grit out of the threads
@@brakeforsnakes ok..thank you for this..now i'm gonna start doing that on all my builds..😁
Did Specialized extended the seat post insertion depth so we can actually use a 200mm dropper in the S3 frame? that's the only thing I dislike about my Stumpjumper Evo, I can't fit a longer dropper to get the saddle out of the way little more.
I'd double check on the website to know exactly what dropper will fit what frame. I can't say for sure that an X 200mm dropper will fit an S3 because I don't know the dimensions of all droppers.
@@brakeforsnakes I believe most popular droppers are Fox transfer and One up.
@@danielpatino81 Again I don't know the lengths of those droppers, research it before buying for sure.
is the stumpjumper a race bike?
It could be
@@brakeforsnakesits a trail bike right?
@ yes
Any news on the alloy and how it will be spec’d? Thanks
You’ll have to wait and see!
Dude what was that thread tape stuff you were using on the BB?
I believe that is Teflon tape specifically for gas line fittings
Teflon tape
I have one and I love it
James Robert
Well done video
Thanks!
What brand air compressor head is that?
I'm not sure you'd have to reach out to Tanner
EVT Presta Only head
I can't believe Specialized isn't making the EVO anymore 😢. I have a 23 Pro build. Hopefully I'll be able to find an EVO frame later if I ever trash my frame.
Both are great bikes I’m sure once you ride one of these you’ll make the switch when it’s time.
How much travel on the rear end of this one?
145mm
Yokes love to snap coils, watch out
Tanner is a mechanic for specialized he knows what he’s doing.
Not to mention this bike is sold directly from specialized with a coil in certain builds. Yokes snapping coils was a problem on the Fox DHX series shocks because they had a smaller shaft diameter and couldn’t handle the side loading
Dude absolutely beautiful bike!! But… it’s a crime todo butcher rear. We all know butcher front eliminator rear is like jam on bread cmon.
You really need to try butcher front and rear. Way more braking traction than the eliminator which is a great tire, but double butchers is the way to go out here in dusty California.
@@brakeforsnakes alright I’ll try it out!
weigh it :)
Made in taiwan are better. This will snap
No it won’t it’s a very stout frame
Where is the new SJ made?
Bad video...the lighting, low lighting would be good at the end of the build, as in photos....! JS
Lmao 😂
Glad my Epic can take cables. XT and XTR dont need batteries. Stupid.
Yeah, the last thing I want to do on a mountainbike is having to be reliant on batteries, I just KNOW I'm going to forget to charge it some day and then your shifter stops working or what ever haha.
That’s fine. Shimano has fallen behind and brands are moving forward. Hopefully this inspires innovation and kicks shimano into gear. But again ever single one of symbols has transmission or axs so I don’t give a shit lol
If you can’t remember to charge a battery every month or so that seems more of a you problem. I just check the battery when I lube the chain it’s like regular maintenance
Is there really no mechanical cable option at least?
@@MrDavecore777 There is not.
