Congratulations on your beautiful house. Can't wait to see your garden and the orchard. The fish on the wall look like pescadinhas (before they grow too big). You clean them and place the tail in the mouth, then dip them in tempura and fry them: "pescadinhas de rabo na boca."
Love, love this house. Be careful with your trees. Fig trees destroy your garden since its roots take over your whole garden. Avocado trees need a lot of water and are not so good for the environment. Not having a closed garage will destroy your car due to the salt from the sea. I wish you a lot of happiness in this epic house.
No, avocados are not bad for the environment
Bad for environment is mass production of avocados very far away from their natural environment. Nature doesn't usually hurt nature. What we do with nature usually does it.

I think that is not a good idea to speak about the situation military in Europe and im not sur that it is a good idea to escape on a island during a war but that, thats my idea. I love that you are going to be sustainable and that you love your home so much! Having said that, I would like to know what is wrong with just about every architect building homes right now because all anyone builds are ugly, boring boxes. We are currently looking to buy a home and every new house I see being built in Portugal is a white box. No character at all. New apartment buildings as well. 😢Where are the Frank Lloyd Wrights of today?
We agree that most architecture built today is boring, ugly and soulless. However I don't think that applies to our home here, although it's not for everyone. But generally modern, stale architecture is made with the intention to demoralize us humans. To feel uninspired and void of creativity. Being around stunning architecture, gardens, and aesthetics in general are important for us humans, which is also why we all agree that the old world architecture is so incredibly beautiful.

You could also just hang some linen material on your pergola. Give it kind of a Moroccan vibe.
Almost any plant will have some effect, dropping leaves, attracting bugs, humidity, etc....this is a great solution some kind of fabric or blind.....

We’ve had it on the market since October last year. As we mentioned we have a few new projects in store that (Bloom Residence) we want to realize and selling our house will allow that. There is no rush though, and we will talk more about this in upcoming videos ♥️

Oh, and i'm not too familiar with persimmons, but Sharon fruits, they also have another name i think, aren't as astringent as regular persimmons and you can eat the skin....And i just thought what if the birds want to use all those holes to build nests inside...That would be amazing if they don't do that...Here in NJ, USA, where i don't want to live, they would do that....Plus birds also are drawn to mirror-like stuff, so i wonder why they may not react so much to all that stainless steel and holes in Madeira...🌎
