    THANK YOU for this series of videos on E.T. - I know I've learned more here than I would have if I had gone to the doctors. They're in such a rush with patients & get aggravated if you slow them down by asking a question....RUDE! Wishing you health & continued success, Dr. Segler!

    Thank you for discussing the corticosteroid shot & boot. I went through both of those at different times, & both had adverse effects: the shot ate the flesh around the injection site but didn't injure me further, & the boot incubated peroneal tendinitis secondary to the achilles tendinosis it was treating. My doctor for the boot is awesome though; he's a runner & hates turning away new patients. Thank you also for the comment on NSAIDS. Ib made my eye bleed after a head injury, so I'm done, probably w all of them. Your choice to make these videos & save runners so much wasted time & money is very kind.

    Hey Doc. I got diagnosed with tenosynovitis of the FHL at the knot of Henry (mri showed fluid right at the knot). I have had it for 7-months now. I don’t experience pain per say… but there is discomfort at the bottom of foot while I’m out hiking / running (mostly when going uphill)…more discomfort when hiking than running during the push off phase. Have you seen this condition in the same spot? There’s zero pain when at rest….but the condition is limiting my endurance outings… does this usually take several months to recover from? I have taken serious leaps in my foot-calf strength/active flexibility. Diet is low inflammatory. Thanks for reading!

    So, what's the next treatment if rest, NSAIDS and injection did not help??

    • @DocOnTheRun
      @DocOnTheRun  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That all depends on what your diagnosis is, and how you responded to each of those various treatments. What did your doctor recommend?

      @@DocOnTheRundiagnoses tenosynovitis. Oral steroids and two injections didn't help. Actually, my ankle seems a lot worse since seeing the specialist. I'm in a lot of pain....esp at rest. I've stopped running 4 wks ago and rest, ice, and do ankle stretches. I haven't received an xray or mri to know what structures are damaged or how severe the inflammation is. This issue has been going on for over 6 months.

      @@AquaBleu If you don't know what structures are damaged, nor how severe the injury is, how can you make a decision about what treatment is best, right now?

      @@DocOnTheRun I'm not the Doctor. I would think if one has a chronic issue that hasn't responded well to the same conservative treatments that are mentioned in the videos and standard medical care...I would order a MRI/Xray. Majority of Dr's would be insulted if a patient makes any suggestions.
      I see in your response....you mentioned aggressive treatment....which is??

    • @DocOnTheRun

      @@AquaBleu I disagree. I do not think MOST doctors get insulted by helpful suggestions. I agree that some do, but not most. I mentioned "aggressive treatment" that would be tailored to the individual athlete's situation, based on ALL of the above, which I do not know in your case, because I have not assessed you. I cannot and do not recommend treatments based on assumptions and without knowing the full story. Doing so would be both unethical and irresponsible.
