That’s how the nexus works. The centre chamber is static while the outside chamber is a moving bed. Wrighty’s 3 barrel design has 1st barrel K1 2nd barrel K1 micro, both static and the 3rd barrel is K1 moving bed. I built one for a customer, Chrystal clear water.
Hello Andy, it’s great to see your koi pool and activity. This is inspiring for us to get back at work on our 2500 gallon In-ground pool. Will have to net out loads of winter leaves, lay the liner neater, place the flat flagstone around the edging. Happy it’s spring !!!
great update andy blanket weed is great stuff but it made a mess of my easy pod and took a few days to clear up but the blanket weed never came back all season and you cant beat a bit of tinkering around with filter builds will be interesting to see how you get on,have a great weekend cheers martyn 👍👍
Doing the same as you but put sinking k1 to catch the fines & a moving bed half way up best of both worlds.... my multi is pumped from the bottom though.👍
Nice update Andy my thinking on the the static kk1000 when you add air like that is it pushing through bad bacteria rather than to waste. Only my thoughts on it and a nice idea from one of your subscribers on a venture mate
Thanks for that Jamie. Covers won't be far off now and planned in. The removal of the water from the tank is an interesting one I'm working in now.. Watch this space...😉👍
Hi Andy, I have got same Oase skimmer and I found same as you it pops up so I tied one of those white 30p fruit vegetable bags to the loop underneath the skimmer and put a stone in there, saves it taking up room in basket, I also use floss in top of basket -The bag was too big so I cut it into a quarter size leaving the drawstring part on it, then you have perfect size bag underneath skimmer (just sew up the 2 sides to make right size for stone(s) so you can add the relevant weight stones Sue
Hi Sue, I like to see others tinkering with sewing bags /screen/ plastic ties To make things work better . I do similar things. Im live in SW Louisiana. Trying to get started on 2500 gallon pool again. We need to remove lots of winter leaves, re-lay the liner more neatly, place new flagstone Around edges. Then can bring my koi over from my smaller pool at Mom’s . I hope everything is going well for you and your pool. Cindy
Nice update mate my covers came off today, so I expect to get blanket weed very soon, and it is amazing how much the upflow filters collect. Stay safe, Andy 👍
Great to see you back on the air Andy, sorry to see you have a wee bit of blanket weed so early in to the season. I built a Venturi a few years back out of a 2" plastic pipe but I had to make a cone to fit about two thirds the way inside so the air would circulate over the top of it to create the air bubble, but this was then fitted to a water outlet to create bubbles. so unless you have a supply of water going threw the Venturi you may have problems lol
Hi Andy have you ever tried Aqua Source Blanket Resolve that’s what I use for my blanket weed and it works very well and does not mess up your filters might be worth a try on the future
I’ve got two static beds of K1 micro in my multi bay. As well as having a mesh grid underneath, they each have one on top to help the upwards flow of water compress the media together to trap dirt, sort of like a Tempest/any other fork of up flow filter. I also have air discs in them to clean them with. Basically any container with media in that’s packed together with water flowing through it will work like a tempest. The more tightly compacted the media is the better, hence why I put a grid on top, obviously the sealed tube of a tempest helps this even more. Btw, I have a tempest as well, and don’t feel that I waste too much water when cleaning them
Nice update , The string blanket weed is a pain , Ive used the same treatment . Ive tried to gauge it because I wouldn’t like to remove the green “carpet “ from sides of pond
a bit similar to my nexus. the micro k1 is static which works mechanical and then when you boil it it kicks out all the crap and clean water enters outer bio with moving k1
I've got a drum filter, it removes the blanket answer within hours but I've not had any issues with the drum clogging up as it self cleans. So other than the product not staying behind no problem.
Hi There, This is my first year with my Drum Filter and pre the installation I always used Blanket Answer. Haven't got any issues as yet with Blanket Weed but if it appears, are you saying that it works fine with the Drum Filter?....fyi I have Oase 60micron screens.....many thanks

Nice update Andy spring is finally here them covers will be off in no time and I'd be interested to see what you do with ventury idea 😊👍
Thanks for that Jamie. Covers won't be far off now and planned in. The removal of the water from the tank is an interesting one I'm working in now.. Watch this space...😉👍
Nice update Andy praying this weather gets better soon 🙏🐟🐟🐟🐟🙏
Added my Cloverleaf a couple of weeks back, almost daily filter cleaning for 10 days. All gone now nice clear pond walls. As usual Andy great update 👍
Sounds great! Glad you enjoyed the update...😉👍
That's an interesting find with the bay of kk1000 mate, another school day. Looking forward to seeing the sky pond go back on 👍🏼
Thanks for that.. Skypond, coming soon...😄😉👍
2 doses of Aquasource resolve does the trick for me , Andy . Not as harsh and doesn`t cloud the water . 👍

Sounds like you've got your skimmer sussed as well..😉👍

I have an ibc with a few hundred litres of k1 dojng exactly that before my moving bed .. a very efficient filter after the sieve
i cant wait till the next keep on the good work love too watch
Thank you..😊👍
Great info as always 👍👍
Thank you..😉👍
Static bed, not upflow/tempest which goes at the end of your filter for polishing. What you have there is the perfect principle of a static bed.
Nice update mate my covers came off today, so I expect to get blanket weed very soon, and it is amazing how much the upflow filters collect. Stay safe, Andy 👍
Yeah real close to covers off myself... 😉👍

Hiya, thanks for that... I think you've given me an idea.. cheers...😉👍
Good useful vid, I have to deal with my ponds blanket weed but temp where I am only 10c av ( about 30 miles east of y)but should rise soon.
Thanks for that. Glad you enjoyed the video. Hopefully you hit that magic temp soon...😉👍
You should try the “Original” Evolution Aqua Stop Blanket Weed, been using it for years and find it does a great job!
Sounds like I need to give that a try when the Cloverleaf runs out..cheers 😉👍
@@KoiPondLifestyle Don’t get the “Eco” version, it’s no where near as effective as the “Original”!
Hi Andy have you ever tried Aqua Source Blanket Resolve that’s what I use for my blanket weed and it works very well and does not mess up your filters might be worth a try on the future
Hiya, Someone else mentioned that product. You cant knock it till you've tried it I suppose...😁😉👍

Nice...
Did my blanket weed treatment yesterday, another spring job out of the way, I find that will now last for the season😀
Yep that one treatment usually sorts my for the season...😉👍
