How about the Scarab Gun from Halo 2? Bungie thought it would take YEARS for people to find it, only for it to be discovered within 2 hours of the game releasing.
I have to disagree with it being a hard find. Even disagreeing with bungie on that. Anyone that played halo religiously will always want to fit vehicles were they dont belong. A city with skyscrapers with Banshees in the previous area was always asking to be found. However that loading zone to get the banshee across. I gotta give credit to whoever was patient enough. The question of "how some of these easter eggs were found?" can be answered in various ways. 1. Game Devs often tease and drop hints for Easter Eggs. Battlefield V had an instance of a dev teasing and hinting and easter egg on his twitter. 2. Data Mining. People often mine and search source codes of video games expecting to find interesting things. There they find some keywords which often spark investigations.
I’ve learned how “people find that” they data mine game triggers and that’s how it’s been happening, but devs are being smarter and are now hiding the files by renaming it, which is good to delay but if you open the certain files, then it’s pretty clear cut
There's so many mines in the game too, such a missed oppurtuninity to have some breakable planks marked by the initials in a mine somewhere just to see a DeLorean covered by the sheet like in BttF 3
Here’s a good attention to detail I found. In the first Hitman, Hitman Codename 47, there is body armor that reduces the amount of damage only your body takes, not your arms or head or legs. But that’s not the detailed part. There are tribals that when they shoot their blow darts at you, do damage to your arms and legs and head like normal but with body armor they do no damage whatsoever because they are blowdarts. Just something I thought was pretty neat.
Good finds! BTW I felt old when, after watching the first easter egg, I realized there're probably a lot of much younger folks watching this video that have never dropped off film to get developed :D

I'm still amazed by the Hunters in Division 2. All the graffiti over the city, translating it to a riddle, and figuring out exactly what triggers the riddle told you to fight them. Great example of a community finding secrets.
If you do another one of these I know of a few that's pretty big. 1: In Metal Gear Solid 3 right before the sniper boss if you turn your consol time 1 year into the future and go fight the boss you'll find him dead. 2: In Hitman 2 on the race track level if you kill both targets with a fish and then step on the fountain jets in a certain order you'll unlock a secret exit. (Not 100% sure you have to kill them with a fish but doesn't hurt to try.) 3: If you're talking sharks in Battlefield games then you gotta include the BF4 shark that required people to hack into the game files to find. (Also the phantom bow and Battlefeild LA skin was pretty tricky to find.) 4: In Undertale if you set your room number to 264 you'll find the now infamous Dark Darker yet Darker text. 5: In Doki Doki Literature Club all the .chr files contain coded messages that link back to the game. 6: GTA 5's Golden Payote plant had you go to specific parts of the map, at a spesific hour, on specific days, during a specific weather, and you has to find them in a spesific order, and if you missed it would reset. 7: In Dying Light there's a box on top of a tall building hidden by a door. You have to kick it 50 time and the character will tell you to stop and pretend there are zombies around. If you get that 50th hit the box will open with Koraks Machete. Those are just some Easter Eggs I think would fit in this series.
I have a crazy easter egg! In call of duty Black ops one campaign, in the mission numbers, when all the enemies come in, blow up all the canisters of nova 6 gas. Then run behind you and into a room with a tape player in it. Hold interact on the tape until you grab it. Then progress until you get to the gun stash behind the fridge. In the room there will be a tape player. Hold interact on the tape player to enter the tape. Then after waiting a little bit the screen should start shaking and a thunder gun will come out of the wall!
Hell's Highway actually has a second, equally weird Easter Egg. In the level "Operation Garden", under the right actions and conditions you can unlock some pretty weird weapons, namely a Thompson that fires circular saws and a cat ray gun.
4:11 I cant believe anyone would stand there doing that for what has to be at least an hour. That has to be someone looking at the code to see what's been hidden.
