In A Towerful of Mice keira metz gives you a lantern if you use in that spot you can see the ghost so I think it's just a left over asset from that particular quest
I dont know if i recall correctly, but a statue was supposedly be a placeholder or was scripted to turn on some spooky music. And, as captain mentioned, it couldve been also some leftovers from quest itself. Maybe some developer didnt want to completely erased it, in fear of bugging the script so, somebody decided to just make it invisible. All of these are just assumptions so take it with a grain of salt.
The one of The Witcher 3 actually has been solved. Since The Witcher 3 has NVidia Ansel support, you can use the freecam mid game to get closer to the figure without moving Geralt himself. Once close enough, you can notice it's simply a wooden statue, nothing exceptional. It's likely that the statue spawning right at that position is caused by a rendering issue and the statue wasn't initially intended to be there.
But didn't people use that same program to do more digging and found the statues model when light up with an artificial light, you could see that the "statue" beathes
What makes the "weeping angel" statues worse is that they are known as juzio statues which are the Buddhist ceremonial representation of deceased children
The mystery of the black water athletics it's actually the Skinner brother who kidnap uncle in the epilogue you hear in a line spoken in one of the quests
It's actually a Mexican/Texan tall (or maybe not we dont really know) tale about a woman who drowned her kids after witnessing the love of her life with another woman....its sad but some say if your out to long by the river you can hear her still searching for her kids and when it gets to loud she snatches you up and drowns you in the river....
There's another easter egg in World At War on the zombies map "Verrückt" (which is also an asylum). Throughout the map, you can hear screams and ghostly howls. What's more creepy is that in the spawn room, if you hold the interact button on the chair with blood on it you can hear a drill and a man screaming
I'd have crapped my pants. I already remember that quest being one of the only moments that truly scared me in this game. That tower's atmosphere plus the doors shutting by themselves behind you feels straight out of an actual horror game.
I've always found the layers of fear games to be outright comical, but I do appreciate the shining reference as a cool easter egg. But as far as being creepy? Their games feel about like someone going "I'm gunna say boo........ boo" ... Like, it primes you so much for such predictable outcomes, how is it scary? Then again, I fell asleep through paranormal activity.

Hey captain i have a few details for the video games. In the first mission of MW 2019 after landing from the helo, if u turn the flashlight on ur head on, ur team mate will tell u to turn it off. For gta san andreas if u drive around in an emergency vehicle like an ambulance, the cars on the road will move out of the way for u. Idk if u have covered these details but here you go captain. Salute to ur vids they r amazing btw. No.1 easter egg channel❤❤❤
3:44 It’s likely that the voice is a line of Japanese dialogue, as Treyarch apparently finds it to be the most unsettling when it is distorted. This can be reinforced by the fact that in the mission “Little Resistance”, when you do the Ray-Gun Easter egg, a slowed and distorted line of cut Japanese dialogue plays, and may very well be the same line, just with more muffled audio. Also these and more creepy noises can be heard in the zombies variant of the map ‘Vürrukt” where more screams and voices can be heard throughout the map. Good video by the way! Really enjoyed it.
Why are so many people in the comments talking about the Shining reference we all know it is even Captain probably knows it is since it’s quite obvious
Heyoo ma man the Easter Egg OG! Been too long not see your channel, because somehow TH-cam subscription is a mess. Was surprised to hear a voice rather than standard text as usual. Not complaining tho, it's good! Keep up the good work 👍
Love waking up on a Friday morning to some...uh, creepy easter eggs 🤨😄. These were good, really enjoyed them and hadn’t seen most of them. Did you ever shoot those dolls in the first two locations? I’m curious what, if anything, happens. I think the Witcher 3 may be an unintentional character model popping in at the wrong time. Sometimes enemies get loaded into nearby locations when the player moves into certain areas.
Layers of fear 1 references works of art in the painting form. Layers of fear 2 references movies throughout the entire game; metropolis, wizard of oz, Se7en, shining, etc. I wouldn't call the twins an Easter egg since you're meant to see it lol but it's always fun looking through that game so all's good was a fun video
I was riding through the swamp area one day in Red Dead 2 and saw a X on the map. When I went to investigate it was a man who had been lynched. I was then charged at by several men with knives that had been hiding behind the trees.
I used to play competitive World at War and there was one time on the map asylum where I heard really loud, aggressive whispering during a match. No one else on my team heard it and I've honestly played that map hundreds of times, never heard it before or since.
Just woke up here in Alaska, and I’ve been watching your channel for about 5 years now. I loved your videos ever since I found your channel, anyways have a great day 👍
In rdr2 theres a lots of gangs in the story mode and one of them is called the skinner brothers basically they scalp people alive and do way worse things than that for fun and there in the tall trees area (were the athletics team were found) also with the witcher gohst the oddheader did a investigation and its basically skinnes tall thing with hair
The bodies are not from the skinner brothers as the athletic team went missing years before the skinner brothers moved in to tall trees. You can find the bodies as arthur.
A cool detail on the Layers Of Fear Easter egg: In the corridor leading up the that area, the carpet is the same as the one in The Overlook Hotel from The Shining (Which is obviously the inspiration for the easter egg)
As someone else mentioned (BookedArtifact) if you get a close up view of the figure in the Tower of Mice quest, you can see it's like a creepy wooden women. That figure also appears on the Trail Of Sweets during the quest where you are looking for the Crones of Crookback Bog. It's seen in a little shrine with candles on the trail leading up to the village of orphans. My theory is that it's a spirit watching Geralt for the Crones, as it's mentioned many times that the Crones watch and see everything that happens in Velen. I'm a dumby but that's my theory at the least, as a big fan of TW3
On rainbow six siege the new remake of house there is a red balloon it can be found down the slide at the side of the house you need a drone to get down there.
5:39 up till the twin girls is a "Shining" reference. The carpet was in the movie that the little boy Danny rode his big wheel on at the Overlook Hotel.
In CoD WaW Easter Egg the voice can be related both to the Asilyum and Group 935. Both dealt with "creepy" and irregular things (elment 115--> zombies and the Asilyum is just being itself and doing its work).
At 3:38 with the man whispering. Have you tried to play the audio clip backwards? Sometimes playing clips, like these where the voice seems to be saying gibberish, backwards will reveal a phrase of some sort.
5:40 that Easter Egg is in reference to the film The Shinning. The carpet pattern is the same as the Overlook Hotel, the tricycle is the same as Danny’s, and the little ghost girls appear in the film, in the same position, saying “come play with us Danny”.
2:24 it’s like the same in fallout 4 with the gnomes, they were scary enough by them selves but sometimes you can find them in creepy ass situations, like on a boat with a skeleton with a machete there it’s head, as the gnome is just there.
I'd hate to say it, but I didn't find any of this to be creepy. Perhaps I'm just incredibly brave, perhaps I'm just numb to being frightened. I can tell you one thing that scares me: Spiders. That will be the only thing that ever scares me.
For the CoD World at War Easter egg, when you visit the same building in the campaign, at some point Reznov will advice you to take a sawed of shotgun found near a stairway. It's easy to miss in heat of combat but there is a decapitated enemy soldier laying right next to it and the gun has only one shell loaded
3:33 I'll never forget I had just got my first turtle beach headset when this game came out and heard this shit clear as day and none of my friends could thought I was going crazy
Doll Easter Egg 1- "Don't you 'Mama' me, ya crazy psycho child!" Doll Easter Egg 2- "What the heck... Didn't I tell you lot NO TELEPORTATION??? Damned kids..." Doll Easter Egg 3- "Don't you peekaboo me... And put that mannequin's head back on, ya little prankster!"
Also for Call of Duty World at War, on the first level of the campaign, just after one of your AI buddies sets off the lasso tripwire thing, if you go stand near the little shrine you can hear the cries of zombies from the zombies mode
Wasn't the figure in witcher 3 explained? I can't remember exactly but wasn't it something like the creature is used for the spooky noises heard while in the tower but they made them invisible and non-hostile so they don't attack or get attacked by the player. I think I remember a video where someone used cheats to get close to the creature and attack it or something like that... it's been a while.
I think the weeping angels Easter egg from a bunch of games And the alternate joker cutscene and line from batman Arkham knight and the man bat break out And for a last one the scarecrow boat from batman Arkham city
The Asylum Easter egg from World at War, probably it’s a reference to Verrückt, that’s the second Zombies map that’s it’s based on that map, and you can hear similar and more sounds like babies or woman crying and all weird zombies but it’s for the ambience of the map
I think the ghost in the witcher is just the game breaking in a spot you are really supposed to be in, since you have to the ghost of a girl in the video. It might be a model that's supposed to be invisible, that they use to make the footsteps you hear throughout the tower, idk
I have no idea if you covered This one. But on COD MW3 if you're on multiplayer on the map "Lockdown" there are a row of bodies hanging about four or five. It's kind of hidden kinda not.
I found some easter eggs in the new house map for rainbow six seige. I don't know if you'll be able to do it until the new season is out. Depends on if you can do the test servers on pc or not. 1: in the slide outside the house there is a pennywise balloon 2: in pink room there is the original unreworked house as a doll house 3: the carpet in music room resembles the carpet from the shining (I think so anyway) 4: in kids room there is the operator chibi toys 5: in kids room there is also a games console with some games made by ubisoft including last train 6: in reading room there is a model train (Jeremy the maker of house loves train) 7: in master bedroom in one of the shelving units there is a reflection of a secret room. These are the ones I've found but I'm probably missing a few.
In rdr 2 after you do the bounty of the Skinner bro guy. He will be hang in Blackwater and before he dies he will say "We had good fun with your sports team" or something like that.
Division 2 has some weird stuff with wooden toy soldiers. You can find them in the sewers in the form of altars, in one aparment you can find them like a family and 2 of them laying in bed and there is a room that when you open it, the are looking at you in a semi circle.
You missed the piano on assylum, right above the toilets on the floor above which scared the shit out of me. I didn't play that map again till the next day.
I think the Witcher Easter egg, was a reference to either HP Lovecraft's "Rats in the walls" and/or Stephen King's "1922". Both are different, yet the same.
I have a clip of the Easter egg of just case three where their is in a mountain somewhere and there is statues that follow you if ur not looking gives me the chills
That Layers of Fear game looks horrifying as hell. I must play it!! Also it would be awesome to see master egghunters like the Captain and Oddheader make a video together.
The Blackwater athletics team death was actually linked to something horrible which happened in real life. If you search up the Los Manicerus massacre it was a Brazilian football team which were kidnapped and then murdered I'm also fairly sure that some of the kidnappers wore clown masks or something linked to that. If you search up Strange Man (basically it's a channel that solves mysteries in rdr2) its put into alot more detail Edit: you can find some dismembered limbs nearby on a rock which spell out 'B' which isnt really a clue or anything I think it's just for Blackwater.
The Witcher 3 has also creepy stone statues that move even more! However, easter egg is as creepy as some regular content of the game! I´m talking obviously about the Crones of Crookback Bog and Gaunther O Dhim. There´s however a creepy little easter egg involving the latter: long before you get introduced to him, he is already stalking you!
I’m really surprised he didn’t mention how the layers of fear Easter egg was a reference to the shining

Captain Eggcellent and of copy right

Plus the floor pattern in that clip is the same as the Shining not just the girls
It's so obvious that is a reference to that movie that it doesn't need to be mentioned , c'mon now. Great clip btw , it's terrifying
I have a clip of the ghost up close in the Witcher she appears during a quest and can been seen with the lantern
In A Towerful of Mice keira metz gives you a lantern if you use in that spot you can see the ghost so I think it's just a left over asset from that particular quest
Is it only during the quest? Cus when I tried to show my sister on both the PC amd xbox she wouldnt show up but we had both completed the mission

Love the boat ee with the two girls its from the shining as the bike and flooring are from the film aswell
6:53 bruh I felt his fear in this part, it's like he braces his self first before panning the camera behind slowly
I think the weeping angels Easter egg from a bunch of games
And the alternate joker cutscene and line from batman Arkham knight and the man bat break out
And for a last one the scarecrow boat from batman Arkham city
The Asylum Easter egg from World at War, probably it’s a reference to Verrückt, that’s the second Zombies map that’s it’s based on that map, and you can hear similar and more sounds like babies or woman crying and all weird zombies but it’s for the ambience of the map
Hi eggcellent I am a massive fan I have been watching for two years I really love your videos and keep up the good work
I think the ghost in the witcher is just the game breaking in a spot you are really supposed to be in, since you have to the ghost of a girl in the video. It might be a model that's supposed to be invisible, that they use to make the footsteps you hear throughout the tower, idk
Nothing creeps me out more than the fact that Jason Todd was in the asylum all along.
1: in the slide outside the house there is a pennywise balloon
2: in pink room there is the original unreworked house as a doll house
3: the carpet in music room resembles the carpet from the shining (I think so anyway)
4: in kids room there is the operator chibi toys
5: in kids room there is also a games console with some games made by ubisoft including last train
6: in reading room there is a model train (Jeremy the maker of house loves train)
7: in master bedroom in one of the shelving units there is a reflection of a secret room.
Finally capt, my fav easter egg hunter
I think the Witcher Easter egg, was a reference to either HP Lovecraft's "Rats in the walls" and/or Stephen King's "1922". Both are different, yet the same.
Really cool video, I love that type of easter eggs.
3:33 when you pause the vid but the voices dont stop.
Amazing as always i love you captain
"little girls will always be terrifying and i have a daughter of my own" lmao
I have a clip of the Easter egg of just case three where their is in a mountain somewhere and there is statues that follow you if ur not looking gives me the chills
That Layers of Fear game looks horrifying as hell. I must play it!!
Also it would be awesome to see master egghunters like the Captain and Oddheader make a video together.
With the red dead one, I thought those were the Boston Red Sox
6:02 might be a refrence to the shining
The Blackwater athletics team death was actually linked to something horrible which happened in real life. If you search up the Los Manicerus massacre it was a Brazilian football team which were kidnapped and then murdered I'm also fairly sure that some of the kidnappers wore clown masks or something linked to that. If you search up Strange Man (basically it's a channel that solves mysteries in rdr2) its put into alot more detail
Edit: you can find some dismembered limbs nearby on a rock which spell out 'B' which isnt really a clue or anything I think it's just for Blackwater.
