    the ai is broken, someone looked into the files and saw that their morale get improved the more flashbangs get used, it wasn’t like this pre-1.0

      In the 1.0 patch notes it said the more explosions happen and gunshots fired the more they’ll gun for you. I guess that meant increasing morale

      @@Degenevesting Dog, it's the 1.0 update. Balancing was supposed to be covered when the game was still labeled as being in early access instead of now where it's kinda "yep, absolutely early access and we didn't rush or cut corners to be able to announce our game at The Game Awards. Nope, nosiree, no way, no how." When it very clearly feels like that's exactly what happened - WHICH is why they didn't show gameplay in the 1.0 trailer, but a cinematic rendered in the engine.

      Saw a clip of the 4U Gas Station, 4 of the robber's came one after the other 4 seconds spaced apart in a single file line into the front section from Side 2's Hallway, They kept seeing their friend die infront of them and they still kept walking towards the fatal funnel. It's just doesn't make sense how they go. @@pimpster122

The AI already see perfectly in the dark, NVGs are fucking worthless on most maps and breaching a threshold muzzle-first is the safest way to do so.

    another thing that hasn't been mentioned is glass reflections. It is literally impossible to look through any window in this game, while the AI is not affected at all. Especially egregious about this is also the reflections on the viewport of the shield. In the mission with the Woman Cult there are whole houses you cannot see in when using an undamaged shield, due to extreme reflections and artifacts on your window, making you effectively blind in a bunch of indoor areas

      I've definitely notice a couple of weird things with windows and lighting, I threw CS gas into a room and the window was ironically the only thing I could see in the room!

      @@paisanodragon Its amazing that this never was an issue until they overhauled the lighting in some older update which removed reflections in things like mirrors and screwed over glass transparency.

    The enemy ai is op. I understand it’s supposed to be unpredictable but once they spot you it’s all headshots and spamming you through the wall for 2-3 seconds.

      The AI has reaction times of gods. Literally 200ms at the high end (I think they get down to 70ms which is just patently impossible for a human) and they have 70% accuracy along with wall hacks.

    I agree with the statement that the enemy AI is WAAAAY too op. The homies and I were going for the S rank on Port Hokan, it took us over 70 tries before the F**k it adjustment kicked in and we used a mod to unlock the stuff. We are all long standing players, but I've never seen the AI this aggressive until now.

      Sunken cost and all that! My friends and I had the mindset of going in and just having fun which definitely improved the 1.0 experience for us, I definitely can empathize though since AI has gone through multiple changes since initial EA release.

    It's crazy that the only person covering these issues is a TH-camr with 1.7K subscribers... I've yet to see Jackfrags, Bigfry or any of the other "big" FPS content creators cover this game negatively. Every single one of their videos is only about how amazing and revolutionizing this game is, with each frame being carefully curated to show only the best of the game and not the 90% of fuckery that actually occurs during the average run.

      well that's mainly because Jackfrags, Bigfry, and other big names in the FPS community are shills that rarely talk about anything wrong with the games in the tactical shooter genre. they'll just about defend any game and ignore the flaws of it. even if they're shilling for an obvious early access scam like Operator, which is obvious that its a scam judging by the fact that every TH-camr that shows gameplay of it uses the same footage. and you buy the game yourself you'll realize just how little you can do in it. any time these sorta channels start parading around a tactical shooter game, take it with an entire palm of salt since they're gonna hide away the faults of whatever game they're pushing in your face.

      I want to say for myself that I do love the game and have been enjoying it but I believe in credit where credit is due and constructive criticism where it is needed for improvement. The game has both positives and negatives at the moment and I just wanted to highlight both with a bit of jokes mixed in here and there.
      Regarding other content creators, I can't say for certain anything regarding their runs is but at the end of the day what they decide to cover is what they cover and for all we know their experience may be competently different than what others have. I just wanted to post my personal experience with the game both good and bad and I appreciate everyone coming by and viewing the video.

My game very rarely ever gets janky, just sometimes the AI is op. And these people are playing in multiplayer and 90% of the game's issues are in single player.

    Honestly the game would’ve been so much better if the maps were smaller.
    Swat 4 was a bunch of houses and smaller scale buildings that it would make sense for 5 SWAT members to go up against.
    But in RoN you’re raiding a compound or clearing a school shooting with only 5 people. When in reality you would need like a Platoon to do it safely.
    Modding is the only hope for this game to be like Swat 4.

      Agreed... unfortunately 90% of the situations presented in RON wouldn't be handled by a mere 5 men fireteam. VOID wanted to go big but SWAT is not about that. I hate this direction

      I think a way to circumvent this is to section houses off with more solid physical barriers, or static “security details” that only makes sure a section is watertight against wondering enemies (so they don’t come outside)

      I don’t mind the gameplay design choices to only have 5 officers because more than that would start to be annoying to manage.
      As for the map size, having to go around Valley of the dolls 3 times to find the last civ that’s hidden in a weird spot is just not enjoyable. I too like smaller maps, but it’s fine to have bigger maps (with moderation).

      I really hate the fact that VOID is trying too hard to be inspired by SWAT 4 but can't think for themselves how to make the game better, more interesting, with proper QoL features and gameplay elements that are different in many ways that could make it the ultimate SWAT game.
      I also always thought that static snipers like in SWAT 4 is a must in RoN, if they're not planning on to make the maps a bit bigger to implement human snipers/marksmen. But that's snoot enough, because their ma design philosophy fits to bigger teams of u to 10-men and not 5-men. Imagine having the option to actually increase team sizes, maybe even fill in slots with SWAT AI along with human players for extra immersion.

      Definitely feel that, while I appreciate bigger maps, it would also be nice if we were able to get some smaller maps as well (e.g. was really looking forward to Fast Food being brought back for 1.0).

      Its ridiculously dumb the suspects can just go out in the open atleast SWAT 4 blocks entrances by actually putting cop cars as if they were putting up a perimiter like the Port was supposed to be 3 agencies taking it on but its just 5 of you you need the 10 player mod to make it realistic

      Yeah, throws the realism when, like in the data center, you can't wedge all of the doors shut so if you find someone outside, the suspects could LITERALLY GO OUTSIDE AND JUMP YOU without any repercussions

    I agree so hard with maps just being monstrous to tackle. At least in Swat 4 you had big maps at times yes, but every room was just that, a room. Not some weird eldritch design that held three doors connecting to separate hallways with potential openings leading to the outside in which AI can freely utilize to ambush/flank you. Every room in Ready or Not for some reason connects itself to so many other rooms or routes that angle coverage on top of flow feel more and more overwhelming the bigger the map gets.
    Twisted Nerve can at least be handwaved by saying that they jankified the house for their meth empire (but I agree heavily that it's stretching the capabilities of a FIVE MAN TEAM), but Mindjot? Why does Mindjot feel like a huge labyrinth of hallways, doorways and interconnecting rooms the deeper you go into a facility that feels like an architect decided to go with their grandest, drunkest whimsies? With an actual labyrinth of servers upon servers within the center? Why does Ides of March have hotel rooms that connect to each other as if multiple s e p a r a t e rooms just have no privacy at all between each other? Hell even with 23/mbs, another smaller more plausible map already presents open angles being the worst thing about the game when armed suspects decide to just ambush you from three stories above as if you're in Seunostan. And if you thought Ides was bad on getting melted, Greased Palms has it even bigger where yeah, five men are taking down an entire postal packaging plant with a second story, outside and entry building with 5 men against a platoon's worth of Cartel armed mobmen. Christ.
    Even if they fix the AI that's my biggest concern atm in the sense that they are pushing the absolute boundaries if not breaking them by giving you only 5 lads to tackle these ever-increasing levels with deranged architecture in trying to cover what angles you can, while at some point being forced to restart due to just that one open room, inviting that one open door you forgot to check for that entire other section of a map that held 3 John Wicks gunning for your ass.

      I feel like Twisted Nerve is one of those maps I absolutely love as a concept but it just feels a bit much especially with barricaded and RAID mode added together, I do still enjoy playing it a bunch just it feels a bit too long for me!
      Regarding the other maps you mentioned, I definitely feel 23 mbs does have that feeling and I think it could get some tweaks done since it is the second level canonically (e.g. perhaps have suspects use pistols instead of M960s just to ease new players in) and Mindjot servers are definitely tough with the cyberpunk cosplayers (I was already prepared from pre 1.0 but one of my friends was surprised at the amount of firepower the guards were outputting).
      Here's to hoping VOID can address these issues in a way that makes the game better!

      Twisted nerve is pretty brutal. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but any sane SWAT commander would bring an entire platoon to operations like those.
      I will say, most of the connecting hallway issues can be solved by a combination of either wedging or stacking a 2 man team, though it does take luck and creativity.

      The bizarre recursive architecture definitely contributes to the intense flanking problems Paisano mentioned. Suspects can pretty much just show up anywhere! It's comical how long and complciated their routes are too. They just have the memory of elephants.

    I feel they made some concessions to make the december release window.
    Hope the AI gets some touch ups sometime, because it's got the framework in place to be an extremely impressive AI enemy. I hope we will eventually see it outsmart us rather than outshoot us.

      I fail to understand what exactly they’ve been doing for 9 month not releasing a single update and now rushing to this? When the only thing changed is the HQ and some movement for SWAT. That’s like 4 weeks of work

    there is a mod called no crack for AI which vastly improves the gameplay experience by nerfing the suspect AI. They obviously still have many issues that cant be fixed without a mayor redesign, but the fact that you can enter a building without dying because a guy with a glock john wicked you from 7 miles away is a good start.
    It is pretty much a must if you wish to play ready or not right now

      The ai is pretty cracked but I wouldn’t say only way to play. Me and the homie usually play in just a duo squad and clear out most missions besides the really big maps

    Funny you mention the AI ignoring damage while using a G36. I was using that gun one day and hit this unarmored AI in the chest/arms with 12 AP rounds. He didn't even flinch. Just full auto'd an AK and killed me as he was being shot.

      Both the armor and ammo values even with 1.0 are still unbalanced and unrealistic. At least, that's the case with the SWAT side feeling more dumb downed.

    the amount of times ive gotten sniped randomly from outside, thru a wall by the ai is ridiculous. they want you to try and go non lethal, and you will sit there for hours doing it, and dying and going back, dying and going back. such a good and beautiful looking game, i just hope the ai gets a little more realistic. like i can understand a paramilitary force being super gung ho and accurate and coming at you tactical, but like random meth heads and shit should not have john wick training. theres a lot of things that can be done to change them, hopefully its actually done.

      okay im glad you brought up performance bc my fps drops are fucking insane, ill go from 50-60 all the way to 15-20 in a room bc of gun shots and explosions and everything being loaded into it at once, it doesnt feel optimized that well

    i would have wished they found a solution to the issue of running around at the end of the mission to find the last civilian in multiplayer (especially when you are the last one alive). It kills enjoyment so much

      I agree! It would be nice to have something similar to the single player "search and secure" feature for multiplayer, we usually just hit page up for soft finish in MP

    YEAH. That's how I'd describe it after clearing it with just myself and my buddy alone. When I close my eyes, I still see muzzle flashes coming from shipping containers.

    One thing that SWAT 4 has over RoN currently is just how reactive the AI are to you. You throw a flash, explode a door, use a breaching shotgun, beanbag, whatever, and the AI has an appropriate response to it all. In RoN, I hardly ever rely on flashes or stingers because of how unreliable they are. Sometimes they work, other times the grenades get lodged behind a paint bucket and suddenly have zero effectiveness, meaning I charge into a room, thinking a suspect would be somewhat impacted, only to find they were completely fine because the grenade didn't land directly on them.
    Non-lethal feels more like a hindrance to the player rather than a viable option for subduing suspects. Beanbags feel more like suggestions and pepperball guns have more effectiveness against you and your teammates rather than the suspects.

    One thing I sorely miss from pre 1.0 was the 6 shell M32 flash grenade launcher. In multiplayer, I was the "PACIFIST FLASHIST" coz my suspects surrender in a flash 😎✨
    Running with light armor, I had 5 flash grenades, 6 M32 flash shells, 5 flash shells from my long tactical, and 4 C2 charges.
    That playstyle was so fun but maaaan~ I miss the grenade launcher 😭

      I found out after posting the video that I think the M32 is the metal cannon ball weapon that I was talking about! My friends and I didn't try it too much because we always had this weird issue with not being able to reload the M32 after expending the shots!
      I'm sad to see it go, it was good times watching the old videos on the subreddit with people using the M32 as a point blank cannon.

    Suspect and SWAT ai has wallhacks. It needs a little bit of work. Its either that or they might have missed a hole in the wall where both forces can see each other through the wall

    In SWAT 4, I can complete most missions on the normal difficulty without me or my squad getting hit.
    In Ready or Not, I can’t even get past the first mission without over half my team getting injured. Including myself.

      I ordered blue to go and stay near some stairs so if anyone wanted to go up they would be faced with that swat team. I double checked and they were looking toward the stairs. Thirty seconds later I hear gunshots and see that they were facing away from the stairs, so the enemy attacked them from behind and killed them.

      In some levels the SWAT AI seems stupider than other levels and so I tend to keep them in the back and do the job myself for the most part. It's just too hard to rely on them, despite the fact that they can finally do some things alone without holding their hands.

      Yea but your team can take more hits before going down to balance it. It strikes a middle ground. The friendly AI can take on the enemy and hold their own in a firefight that can last longer. Making the situation more intense. In SWAT 4 it's over before that happens.

    I want to love the game, but the issues make it impossible. Optimization causes stutters that make fire fights impossible; I hate peaking a corner to immediately stuttering when seeing someone just to die because my frames skipped. The AI becomes more aggressive with each update which I found noticeable after the Adam update .The enemy AI actually heavily keeps me from wanting to play the game more than the optimization issues, and it's more shocking when the diehard community defends the extremely unfair AI to the death to Gatekeep the game's "tactical feel". Yet I also feel like the gatekeeping and refusing the accept the AI's issues greatly diminishes the ability to enjoy the game from multiple play styles and also limiting your tactical options to only throwing 8 flashbangs into a room. Between a broken morale system and extremely flawed concept of their inhuman reaction and action times, I can't see myself being able to pick this game up to play again. It'd be near impossible to convince my friends to try as well, as I think I have far more patience than they do. I also wouldn't be surprised on the daily player count dropping fast to it's low number that it had before, where it will be again shortly after this update.
    Hope the game improves optimization and Enemy AI: I'd love to be able to play this game again. Like in the early stages of EA.

      Well said, the stutters can be the difference between being able to get an enemy and you having to restart the level. I've been lucky in that whenever the stutters happened I've had the terminator AI covering me or my friends have already cleared the area (e.g. the library part of the video).
      I have seen some interactions in the subreddit regarding the gatekeeping way to play (most people on the subreddit though are chill!) and have heard some pretty bad stories regarding public multiplayer, definitely made me not want to try public multiplayer at all.
      I know what you mean about the "picking the game back up", pre 1.0 I would think briefly about Ready or Not, give it a go, and then remember why I stopped playing. Team AI in 1.0 can either work or not when it works it works well and when it doesn't, it can get frustrating when they just do wonky things in a critical situation like a breach with civilians in the room.
      I'm lucky enough to have friends that are willing to give it a go and we have tons of fun just messing around with everything which has made my 1.0 experience a lot better. Here's to hoping as well things get fixed, with the holidays at the doorstep, unfortunately we just have to let VOID cook and hope it gets sorted out.

      for me the station and valley of the dolls are horrible, but i just installed a nexus mod for the convenience store and for some reason im getting insane frames and valley of thew dolls is so far running pretty good, try that or any other mod to see if it works, but im not too sure if its a surefire fix or band aid tho

    One thing that is incredibly annoying, that is the shield officers looking behind the door first before clearing the room which leads to them exposing their back to EVERYONE in the room.
    Not even to mention them just looking in random directions and standing in my way when i want to get out of danger. Idk but it feels like void lied in their New AI Trailer.

      yeah, they definitely did. a lot of the tweaks towards the friendly AI was just the 6 different ways you can get them to stack up on a door and the formations you want them to have while following you. they've hardly changed how friendly SWAT works and simply made them 1% more useful. their quality is rarely consistent what with them either being able to wipe out a whole room on their own, or you'll lose 3 guys to some 2-bit thug.

      I've had it happen a couple of times but thankfully not in any critical moments like suspects on the other side of the breach.
      If I had to theorize, I think the AI tries to prioritize "high danger" spots when clearing a room (from what was mentioned in the trailer) but I think there could possibly be an issue with the code regarding the rating on high danger which can lead to some wacky AI things like looking behind the door in your case, even though they are the shield and are supposed to clear front.

    Honestly I was pleasantly surprised that the friendly AI was improved so much up until I went into ides of march where they proceeded to get massacred every time they entered a room and sometimes just went into the corner of a room after breaching and sat there doing literally nothing.

    I have seen so many RoN 1.0 vids that show how amazing 1.0 is and don’t seem to show how the game is still janky and has many problems still.

    thankfully the no crack for AI mod is a good fix until the devs do something officially. the main mod is a bit easy but he has multiple version up for different ai values some even harder than the main game.

      I also use the same mod and it really makes the game played out better. One thing that I like about the mod (and I assume it's the same with the rest of the AI mods) is that it doesn't disable the Steam achievements. Some might argue that because the AI mods literally changes the AI behavior, then unlocking the achievements now render them easier, hence a sort of "cheating", but then again, it's not our fault that the devs can't program AI properly.

    9:13 He says you get only one shot from tazer which is not true - you get two shots per cartridge and with one tazer you get 4 cartridges. Sadly if you waste more slots on tazers it wont increase your cartridge amount :(

      I actually found out the taser has 2 shots a couple hours after recording! That being said I did not know about the extra cartridge thing which is sad!
      Two shots means double the ammo, twice the panic if you miss both!

      The equipment always bugged me, why do they let you take multiple lock pick guns and pepper spray? It really isn’t difficult to restrict a certain piece of equipment to a specific number, especially considering they already have a framework for changing the amount of slots you have.
      And they should most definitely give you more taser or pepper spray ammo if you get multiple. I can’t imagine these things haven’t been noticed or brought to their attention before 1.0 it isn’t a good look to have so many rough edges that should be easy to fix.

    I wholeheartedly agree with the size of the levels not matching the number of SWAT present. Easiest solution for this to me is re-imagine coop with each player commanding their own team of 4 AI.

    one of the best things in this game is after a succesful mission if there are lets say 4 people stilla live, you start a 2v2 where two guys start at one side of the map and the others at the other side. or a 1v1. its actually really funa nd you will start to really clear angles to kill the real players. its really fun actually. i would suggest doing that on smaller maps only tho xD

    I love that you brought up the fact that we are essentially fighting a whole private militia with only 5 dudes. For a game that touts its realism, no SWAT team would EVER go in so outgunned.
    If you've ever seen a SWAT raid irl, they FLOOD THE BUILDING with as many officers as they can from almost every single entrance.

      I've had a strange thing about that! One of my earliest sessions I had no frame drops at all so I thought I was going insane, only for it to return consistently on every other time I've played
      Pre 1.0 I definitely knew about the pre caching because thats how the mod maps worked (e.g. 40 seconds first time, all other times it was 10-15 because it was already generated) but it seems like 1.0 has consistent frame drops for me unfortunately

      But still, that's unbelievable to see such weird fonctions like this. At official launch you'd expect a smooth experience and not "it runs better the more you play" who would accept that ? I know it's a real issue in the whole industry but that's not a reason to lower our standards. Anyway the game was advertised during the game awards and they set the price higher so more people are gonna buy and play the game and the studio will face the anger of new players that payed their game 50 dollars for such a mess

      Shader compilation is the biggest annoyance with games from the past five years: Counter-Strike 2 was downright unplayable because of it. UE4 games are also pretty bad offenders.

    The lock pick gun is much faster and quieter than regular lockpicks.

      lockpicks are already quiet. and in the situations where you can afford to use one, the only thing you'll lose is your patience when using a regular lockpick. there's rarely an instance where you would need a lockpick gun. in an instance where you're being rushed through rooms, you're better off using something that'll at least daze the suspects like some C2, even if it's noisier it'll infinitely more useful. stealth hardly matters in this game anyways since enemy gunfire will still alert the building of your presence.

    My biggest complaint Is my frames keep going down in random areas around the map. I’ll be cruising at a nice 80-82fps walk through a room or look at a door to breach all of a sudden I’m like 27 fps

    great video, pretty much captures exactly how i feel about the full release, one tiny thing i also ran into is that team ai frequently don't stack up, peek the door, and toss grenades into rooms the way you want them to, meaning a lot of times when the plan was to flash into the room (something that real people could pull off easily) the team ai will stack up, swing the door open, see a suspect and execute them, then toss a flash, and it pretty much can't go any other way. also, a few times my one tactical shield guy at the front of a stack will, upon being ordered to clear a room, start walking straight away from the door in some weird pathing fuck-up.

      YES, for a game that touts realism how hard is it to time the opening of a door and tossing a flash. Its beyond slow. Its open the door, like 2 sec pause, team open to fire, then the toss out 2 sec later than the bang of the flash. Its like they have never practiced synchronizing the toss to the door opening.

    4 shield idea seems rather interesting on post office map
    i tried to complete it yesterday for 3 hours straight and every time i got head/eyesed or shot to shit from an across the room with unpresidented accuracy while i dont even have an idea where they all at
    i remember in beta there was less of head/eyes because from what i heard any headwear used to give face protection

      God I hated that map. Spent like 5 hours throughout a day trying to clear it on iron man literally just for the single cosmetic item for no one dying.
      I’d clear everything without taking a single hit for the whole squad then on the last part my AI pushes to far in the building to quickly and dies leading to a ALT F4

      I've soloed this map multiple times pre 1.0 beat it on my first try (1.0) I always enter the lobby first clear that and the bathrooms then just work around and outside the building counter clockwise around the loading docks the just fire from the docks until that's clear then make entry away(believe east to west)from the offices .. then offices then clear that separate little building last

      The idea of mass stacking shields was born out of frustration on Greased Palms, I just really tired of Amazon style middle section where I would get domed leading my team, my AI would just get randomly hit, or the FSIA agent would get domed by team AI. Literally thought "well if shield guy doesn't die, and I don't usually die with shields, what if I just stacked shields?" Beat the level immediately afterwards with FSIA agent downed but alive.

    I miss the walking simulation missions in headquater mode. For example some of policeman will have problems with they cases, and you can help them a little with speaking with someone else

      I definitely understand the reason for implementing the "Y to ready up feature" (e.g. so you don't have to walk back upstairs after testing guns/tools) but it definitely would have been nice to have either or as an option!

    20:55 the best current way to do this is to hold shift when you issue a command and they will be on standby to complete that order. Once you choose “execute” on their pair or all 4, they will carry it out regardless of where you are at the time, so you can coordinate better. But it still doesn’t help if there is more for them to do after. You have to return to them at that point. I wish they would make a way to issue remote commands, maybe through the map device.
    Also, the automatic actions they take clearing subjects and evidence is cool and welcome, but sometimes they do it at bad times. Like I order them to an open door and they arrest someone first, or I order a person to come to me because it is dangerous to arrest them in the open, but the officer runs out to the open to arrest them before they get to me
    I tried equipping them with shields, but they all switch to it to clear rooms, so they lose a lot of firepower
    I also want game modes to return in practice mode

    just so you know, people and especially crackheads can take an entire mag into the lungs and heart area and still try and kill you for like 20 seconds straight before dying.
    adrenaline and drugs can delay a persons death for enough time for them to do some damage, from what I recall its also part of the reason police use/consider the "21 foot rule".

      Yes, I am aware of that drugs and adrenaline can definitely affect a person in huge drastic ways (e.g. the one officer Donut Operator covered who carries 145 rounds with him because of the one suspect who just didn't go down).
      It would definitely be interesting to see reactions programmed in for that but in my experience now, hitting an AI with your weapons doesn't affect them one bit (e.g. even with adrenaline, it's hard to shoot with a broken right arm from a rifle round).

      ​@@paisanodragon its sort of a stereotype from movies with being shot and all that, typically when shot people don't jump around, yeah shotguns can do that, but thats due to them being able to transfer so much and all the energy into the target, typically rifles pass right through making the impact way smaller. Its also the reason law enforcement use hollowpoints mostly since passthrough with crossfire is a really dangerous thing, plus cops like that hollowpoints dump all their energy in the target so they go down faster.
      from my understanding flesh wounds will be ignorable for a while while bone and nerve wounds will disconnect controllability.
      Its probably part of the reason people on liveleak with half their stuff missing can still be awake while people with minor wounds to critical areas just ragdoll immediately
      if I recall right there's a story of a marine that lost his fingers and got his thigh muscles completely shredded from some AK's in a village in the middle east, he was too angry or something to care and continued his role until medics told him to sit down.
      tangent aside yeah more inconsistency and stuff with the NPC's might be better, would be cool if they also just had some limits like ammo capacity and stuff so the really reckless ones might be the inaccurate but wall bangy ones that get themselves out of the fight first. stuff like that, personality and volatility would be very endearing.

    They considered a big content drop enough for a full release. I'd personally consider a bug free fully working game the full release considering the content it already had, and drop the new content in something called "Updates" (not dlc), something few remember exist. But what do I know, I'm not a game developer, I've just played hundreeds of games and used a couple of neurons.

    I really like your take on the atmosphere and worldbuilding. It really shows that the police have expensive military rifles like the Mk18 and heavy body armor, fanciest tactical gear money can buy, and yet there is a distinct lack of social outreach.
    If i had one wishlist for the game it would be a mission taking care of the public officials responsible for the corrupt mess of a city

      @@piragintheevercorpulent1526 An AK with zenitco furniture ain't hard to get. And the ammo typically is pretty cheap. More expensive now since the Russian ammo import ban, but not unreasonable. Only problem is no one would do it cause you'd have to retrain on the AK's. Better to keep it standardized with AR-pattern stuff.

    The most criminal offense of the game aside from the AI, is what the devs did to the G36 and SCAR-L. Top rail of the G36 was massacred and turned into an ungodly abomination, and the SCAR has a random M4 stock that no human would ever add to the gun.

      I don't know where they got the idea from to model the SCAR with an M4 buttstock, because I feel like some of the guns in-game are based of off airsoft guns rather than real ones. I can't necessarily say the same for the G36, because the carry-handle less version is a real one despite looking cursed. I do agree they should replace it with the classic one.

      ​@@JADEK111 I was about to mention that about the G36. Supposedly, it allows the user to easily and quickly operate the charging handle but I don't see how thats needed since there is a bolt release.
      As for the SCAR, it is odd that we get that setup when proper, factory examples are on the PD armory wall.

    For everyone unaware, there are mods that allow you to tweak the cracked enemy AI, so you can make the game into a fairer challenge, turn it into a game of Call of Duty or make the enemy AI so cracked that you might as well be fighting terminators.

    When I first tried the 1.0 update, I loaded up the Gas station just toi be rushed by all suspects at once out of the main entrance. It didn't feel like barricaded crackheads, but the beaches of normandy. So I went to the Nexus and fixed that. According to one mod dev, the crackhead AI in the very first mission had one of the highest aggressiveness and accuracy ratings. How does that happen?
    Also, I noticed when I look at my squadmates (AI or players), my frames drop down to 15 or lower. And they stay there for a while even after I look away. That is really impractical, when you try to respond to a threat but you stutter your way across the screen because your teammate's sleeveis visible.

    What rubs be the wrong way is how they had to audacity to release this broken mess then immediately go on break, so we are stuck with this until they finally decide to work on it, which they may not, because they are hell bent on making the suspect AI ridiculous.
    Theres also the fact that they have removed more missions than they have added, greatly reducing game time and replayability.
    I have to thank mod creators for making this game more of a SWAT experience than it sets out to be.

    A thing i noticed on the SWAT AI while doing a mission (i was going for an S rank so i had all my buddies run non lethals while i was running shields) is that the SWAT AI has no problems magdumping the player with pepper balls if they can feel an enemy behind the player and also a wall, I literally looked my team member in the eye as he decided to fire 6 pepper balls in my face.
    The enemy AI can be somewhat fixed with a mod that turns their aggression way down, i had a lot more people surrender to me instead of fighting to the death, but the SWAT AI is still doing their best Ruby Ridge impression on every room clear, on certain occassions they will execute a surrendered enemy, just because they feel like it, while on other moments the concept of stairs freaks their AI out and they will happily die to an enemy two steps away from them.

    A point to make is that the ai isn't based on both reaction and response time, it's only based on reaction time. I kid you not, it takes the average reaction time of 250 ms, despite reaction and response time for most individuals is 1 full second or more to respond to the threat. Felt like they took the reaction time and called it a day
    Edit: it's the reason why the ai seems so broken, let alone the fact you need extra miliseconds to process what you should do based in certain aspects

      Currently as far as I am aware it is the listed campaign maps which is if I recall 18? Previous alternative versions of maps were removed in 1.0. The game supports both single player and multiplayer (team AI is not available in multiplayer with other players currently).

      What helped me on Brisa (if that's the one you're talking about) was using a ton of wedges to help clear rooms individually, I know it can be tough though, saw a couple hours ago on the subreddit Brisa AI literally wall banging a poor guy and half his team.

    inconsistent TTKs is apart of the breach and clear simulator experience. we've both seen the videos of PCP zombies take an entire glock mag and not drop. sometimes the bullets just dont hit right, especially against suspects on drugs.
    there's a reason why bjj guys emphasize proper rear naked choke technique, and it's because a properly applied choke can knock out an opponent in 5 seconds, and an improperly applied choke will hurt really bad and either:
    take minutes to deprive the opponent of oxygen
    or
    continue to hurt really bad and do little else.
    pain compliance is like adding a 1% chance to instakill on your weapon, it's nice if it works, we give it a chance to work, but we plan for it not to. that's why we magdump the target until they no longer pose a threat.

    The AI are too bot like and need to be more inaccurate after the first few shots depending on who they are, what they are carrying, rate of fire, what training they have, and weather or not they are gonna be a lil rusty.... **Looks at old disabled vet whos basically hip firing a m240 thinking he's Rambo**
    Idk if ive ever been killed by it and theres really no quick and effective way to find out just what killed me that I'd want to do and ik that gun would absolutely rail me but still

    The birthday party mission gave me ptsd, I had to John Wick whip around and kill 8 different suspects in the span of a couple minutes in the main foyer area on my own and with how inconsistent suspect accuracy is I was saying prayers to god every time I heard a bullet, each encounter amazing me that I wasn’t CS:GO 1 tapped, and confirming whatever god I was praying to was listening

    Wholeheartedly agree with points made at 26:22. Pre 1.0 I average around 100-120 on high settings, literally had to switch to low quality in order to be able to load into the HQ. Used AMD SuperResolution and managed to get about 70-80 frames but as each match progresses my frames dip and I end up with about half by the time I finish

    I noticed the majority of AI officer deaths (for me personally) have been the SWAT AI shooting like 6 rounds and then transitioning to their sidearm. The deaths are almost always during the second that it takes to transition or after they have their sidearm out they're completely outgunned, even by a coked out tweak with the same exact handgun.
