Why are we not discussing this guy being one of the greatest passers of all time? His passing is right up there with the greats, he definitely is the best in this generation easily.
Because that doesn’t fit the James harden and ball hog synonyms that people have associated him with to easily discredit him. Any true nba fan knows how elite his passing is

@@juandirection8820nah man you live in a dream world. Jokic is a great passer, but in terms of skill and difficulty of passes he is not above Luka in no universe. Luka also averages 5 insane assists per game that dont lead to points, because he has a brick team most of the time

True. He is not
People will see this as hate towards Shai, but it's not. Shai is a mvp contender and he will compete against Luka for years to come, but this season it's Luka's time. On top of having better stats in all major looked statistics (Luka also takes insanely harder shots, way more guarded 3's) he is also the most double teamed per possesion player in the league. The main goal of every team playing agaist Mavs is don't let Luka cook. Luka also has the highest statistical standards by a mile out of all other mvp candidates. Mavs also have a horrible losing record without Luka on the floor and Luka missed quite a few more games than Shai due to injuries (again due to being forced to hard carry, being doubled all the time and missing his starters and second star due to injuries). I see Luka as a clear mvp if he continues to do what he does till the end

Because let's not act like every game is like this. He has a lot of bad games too and his team in 8th in the west, so it makes sense why Jokic is the MVP.
Because the only thing that matters to them is a team based stat called seeding record. And even then they will give zero aknowledgment to west being 10x times more competitive than the east this year or zero thought about games that Mavs lost when Luka wasnt playing. Luka is on the verge of averaging a freaking 36 point triple double on good % this season, but they will give the mvp to someone else whos team will have 5 more wins in the end than Dallas.
Dallas has a ton injuries to deal with this season.

It's always been common in NBA history to flip flop on whether team seedlings count towards the mvp for example. When Nash stole an MVP from Kobe when his only reasoning was seeding kobe blew him out the water in all stats, research is there if you'd like. A common excuse for Westbrook winning that year was he had the most clutch time buckets now is that a reasoning for a 47 win 6th seed to win 🤷♂️ me and you aren't voters so who knows. But I see you all through the comments here and old trying to turn this into a racial thing which is super confusing and indirect to what you really feel in my humble opinion.

I love Luka, but why do I feel like this guy more often than not is carrying the basketball when dribbling.
I hate when people say “everybody does it” to try to justify something but in this case, literally everybody carries. That’s why when it is actually called, which is extremely rare, the players look so confused. It’s just the way the game evolved to keep it fast pace. Back then, 100 points was like an extremely good night. Now 120 is nothing.
